Greyhound Racings Dirty Little Secret Exposed
WreckitWhippet replied to Greyt's topic in General Dog Discussion
It's certainly no " dirty little secret" -
Perhaps they should look at blind folds for all judges and banning them from FB, websites etc LOL that would be much easier, given there's so few of them ETA : I've got a few judge friends on my facebook and apart from one, they given me squat over the years , so the pics of me and the dogs are working well

Guess The Breed......

Pei x Lab Doesn't look to be any SBT in there at all -
I'm all for "pest" management solutions. Using the dogs to locate the live dens, is for more effective than taking pot shots at the Fox's that you manage to see. Shame we can't employ the tried and true methods that were used, prior to the ban of the hunt in England.

I'm at that stage where I'm trying to decide, is she , isn't she. I'm thinking she's taken from the last mating and we can expect baby Whippies around the 22nd of Dec.
-
The answer as to when, would be when she's ready. She'd need to be flagging and acting like a real tart and I'd be doing the "steve" pinch test, before I bothered to leave home. You mate a bitch when she's ready and she chooses that for you, even if it means missing trials, shows, weddings and Christmas.

The "Breilla's" are Pointers from the Gundog Group.

They were clearly helping you with some necessary excavations! lol They were known as "Breilla Brothers Backhoes" and " Patscavations"

I am an expert on exercising dogs and providing plenty of mental stimulation, so as to prevent boredom and destruction, so much so, that I like to preach to others.

My opinion .... if that's the sire of any litter, I wouldn;t be parting with cash for a pup. The dog is a horendous example of an SBT and wouldn;t make a good Amstaff either
-
Bit hard at short notice LOL

I can tell you now that it's not an over generalisation and that anyone who is raising an SBT or an Amstaff should be doing so with caution. The SBT should be a gentleman unless set upon and the majority of SBT's will finish what someone else starts. Many dogs find the SBT to be rude and pushy in terms of the way they play and the SBT doesn't readily accept being told to bugger off by another dog. The best piece of advice I can offer potential new owners, is to socialise your young pups with dogs of known temperament, not in a dog park free for all. Raise your SBT to focus on you and for you to be the best thing in the world. An SBT that is indifferent when it comes to other dogs and one that has a recall is the best and safest to live with.

I looked at Col Wwestern sheds when building my kennels and they were quite cheap and nasty. For a reasonable price you can get Carrington kennels. I ended up with 3 runs, with kennels and a roof that also covered the runs. They were very reasonably priced. My suggestion would be to build something that is solid and going to last. By the time you buy three vebo pens and put beds, kennels and a roof on them, you are within strking distance of a decent kennel set up

Does the Skye Terrier Rescue (if there is one) know about this one Clover? There's only 11 breeders listed on DOL and the chances of them being BYB is pretty slim. If indeed it is a Skye, it would be worth emailing the breeders and giving them the heads up

Pitbulls Bite Off Teenagers Ear In Savage Attack
WreckitWhippet replied to k9angel's topic in In The News
They were Pitbulls registered as Amstaffs so as to avoid BSL. They ticked all the boxes, if it looks like a duck , quacks like a duck -

WreckitWhippet replied to k9angel's topic in In The News
What a shame for the American Staffordshire Terriers, that these dogs were registered as "amstaffs" in order to hide their true breed identity from Council. The bite stats will now reflect "amstaff" as the identified breed, when they certainly were not. -
perhaps a rescue or shelter might like that spare food.. If I get something that doesn't work out for the dogs we have here, I take it out to the local pound.. They are always really grateful for the extra good food and blankets we take out. Back on topic, I agree with others, I would suggest it is the fat content... I hope you work it out... Why would you give a food that has made dogs sick away to a rescue or shelter, surely they don't need the problems
-
To take decent pictures of dogs you need to learn when a dog is stacked and moving correctly. Learn about the individual breeds and the intricacies of showing them.
-
Have a second person handy just in case you need to grab the dogs quickly if she reacts badly. Or a second person is great for making a cup of coffee for you when you get a tie LOL Put her on a longish leash and stand back and watch them. She'll either accept the dog or not and the less interference you do the better.

That's because people get abused when they share negative experiences :) and those negative experiences are very common. It's certainly no super premium food or even a "premium" food

Help-new Mum Not Sleeping At Night
WreckitWhippet replied to Mojopoodle's topic in Breeders Community
Be prepared to be sleep deprived and spend the time with her, it's part of breeding I'm afraid. -
I wouldn;t use Neocort around the mouth. Heat denatures the protein in a typical sting, I don't know how you'd go trying to rise the lip with hottish water ( not so hot it will burn ). The heat will certainly take the itch out. Try it next time you get bitten by a Mozzie or insect
