  1. I only caught part of it on the news but I'm assuming by the statement on behalf of which ever states Govenment, that some one has effectively taken a council to court and won over a restricted breed declaration. I certainly got the impression that which ever state it was, is now going to look at further tightening the legislation.
  2. Why not have the faeces tested for signs on intestinal worms, rather than continually pumping chemicals into a dog that it doesn't need. Treating for intestinal worms evry 4 or 6 weeks is overkill and then some
  3. I feed in the morning the raw part of their diet. I walk them in the evening and then feed them just a I lock the up for bed.
  4. Digital thermometre , with some KY on it and insert in the anus.
  5. It is a copy so I can't be sure. Oh and I just realised too, both the dam and sire are named on the certificate of rego and pedigree. Check the date of birth on the cert Does that match the DOB of your puppy ? if so then it should be your pups pedigree. It shouldn't be a photo copy it should be coloured. The puppy should either have you as the registered owner or be signed on the back, so you can send the papers into the canine council and have them transferred into your name. Having said that you should at the very least have the cert, microchip, vaccination and a copy of the parents DNA results for the L2-HGA and HC testing
  6. You should have copies of any health testing performed on the parents such as eye certificates, hip scores and results for L-HGA& HC You should also have a certificate of vaccination for your puppy Some form of confirmation of microchipping and a change of ownership and a Certificate of Pedigree for YOUR puppy. Go back to the breeder and ask them where the above is for you puppy
  7. Do not feed you SBT hard, weight bearing bones at any age. It's the quickest way to wear down their teeth and also fracture them. Stick to the softer consumable bone with the meet on such as chicken carcass, necks, wings or even 1/4 or half chooks, rabbits, lamb flap, lamb necks (whole) pieces of roo tail, brisket. Staffords enjoy chewing things and have very powerful jaws, they are incessant chewers and it's often to the detriment of their teeth.
  8. Clearly the dog needs more physical exercise and mental stimulation, it's going to need to be more than once a week. Surely you can get you OH to take him for a walk once a day as a start ? With regards to finding some training time and wearing the dog out mentally, you don't have to leave home or make a lot of time to do it. Keep a treat jar and clicker somewhere handy and give the dog a couple of minutes here and there, you can train on your kitchen floor, in the lounge. Teaching him to lay and stay on a mat or in a bed as the others have suggested is a great idea.
  9. Give her the whole chicken wing, add some lamb neck whole to the diet. You've got a Stafford jaw and she's more than capable of eating meat on the bone. Cut the fruit down and get rid of the wet food, as she is looking very weak in the pasterns.
  10. we've got a few that are ok but the rest well, I certainly didn't vote them in and it appears almost impossible to get a council that will stand up for the members and tell AR where to go.
  11. we already up poo creek and there's nothing we can do to change it, we may as well sit back, breed while we still can and enjoy the dogs. The canine councils sell us out at every opportunity that presents. I used to be quite passionate and care but when you start worrying constantly about not being able to breed and all of the legislation and restrictions that are coming into place, you just send yourself mad. I'm quite happy to promote my dogs by producing happy healthy animals that my puppy buyers enjoy and that's good enough for me
  12. That's one of the biggest crocks of poo going. ETA: people make it so much more difficult and involved than it needs to be, with prog testing and do this and that on certain days. Keep it simple, let the dogs get on woth it and feed them both plenty of red meat on the days when they are mating
  13. I've given up giving acrap what the general public, the rescue zombies and animal rights think about me as breeder and my pedigree dogs. The fact is i've got mroe people waiting for dogs than I can evern produce, the homes are fanastic and these days, that's all I'm worried about.
  14. Catch 22, what's the point of raising the awareness of pedigree dogs, when there aren't enough to go around
  15. If your pup is a SBT, forget about any serious walking until 7 or 8 months of age at least. Short walks of 10-15 is more than enough for now and you are better off concentrating on the training and some free running and play.
  16. As I'm finding out yet again LOL It's a bit like child birth really, you forget about the pain and in theis case the previous dollars spent
  17. I test them eachc day from when I think the bitch is ready and then let them mate every day until the bitch goes off and the dog is no longer interested. I've never missed a bitch doing it this way.
  18. I wouldn't be allowed on the premises. That's not to say I haven't seen them though. And, I'm sorry, but any group that puts a dog in boarding, that has been told by the kennel manager that the dog is pregnant on various occasions, and refused to believe it or even get a vet visit organised, is just downright neglectful. That dog whelped in boarding and had four puppies. She could have been given vetcare much sooner and whelped in a home environment. But no. They know best. And who cares about just one individual dog in boarding when there are dozens? Maybe they could have spent more attention to dogs if they weren't dealing with arm chair rescues and keyboard warriors, I've never heard of that story but the reality is stuff happens, I got my car serviced once and they didn't put something back properly where it was meant to go, I went back and had them fix it, I didn't create hate pages on facebook, find out where the mechanic lived and stalk his address, and finding out who his friends were and talking crap about him to them. Hello pot, meet kettle............
  19. We lost muscle tone and condition and it tells me the protein source is not one of great quality
  20. I've seen international judges non award at the Spring Fair and they went so far as to non award a CC winner from a Specialty the night before. So no, some judges may not think a "winner" on a previous day is goo enough to be awarded under them.
  21. Let them say what they like, it doesn't change the fact that pedigree dogs from ANKC registered breeders are in high demand and there's more people wanting them , then we can produce pups.
  22. I don't think that PR will be a topic of discussion around here much longer either. I'm sure she has enough funds from her ill gotten gains to threaten legal action.
  23. Equinade Glo White will make the whites look shiny and white again. Wash him with that shampoo and then spray the whites with Equinade Show Silk Hair Polish, rub that in and let it dry. The show silk puts a protective coating on the hair and it repels mud and dirt. It acts a bit like a porosity equaliser and smooth over the cuticle preventing the dirt sticking to the hair shaft.
  24. Pedigree cooked rice and veg is no diet for a growing puppy. Royal Canin is good choice and you could add some meals of chicken necks, wings, pieces of lamb flap, lamb necks ( not the rosettes ) rabbit if you can get it, pieces of roo tail etc.
  25. This and for that reason we only have concrete troughs that the dogs cannot over turn or move if they empty them
