  1. I spent time with one such bitch today, bright future ahead of it, has damaged her tail and broke it open at my place today. If such loonies have their way, there goes her sporting career
  2. He would have to be a Bassett cross something but with what, I have no idea ETA : when I typed Bassett I was thinking of Blood Hound
  3. You need to start with a very light weight leash, that doesn't attract the pups attention. Most of the leashes you buy in the shops are thick with big heavy clips on them.
  4. It's illegal in most instances to dock a dog, but it is not illegal to import a docked dog, therefore those that import docked dogs should have every right to show them
  5. And there will go the last of our great breeders of traditionaly docked breeds...
  6. Make it up as you need it using 3mls Malaseb to 100 water.
  7. I don't object because of the age of the kitten, 6 or 7 weeks and they are in no danger. I do object full stop to pet shops selling pups and kittens
  8. Do you have another dog ? I put a lead on my pups, carry them down the stairs to the drive way and put them down next to an older dog and then we are off. The main thing is to get them happily going forward and then you can tame things down from there is need be. I've never had a pup refuse to lead and after a couple of very short walks they are then able to be lead without the older dog and with encouragement alone.
  9. Get a 36 inch wire crate, she won't outgrow that size. I've found my 30inch crates are too small for the mature Whippets.
  10. No I don't think so, my Pug litters were weaned the same way as the Staffords and currently the Whippet litter. I think a lot of owners push to wean the pups, when really they will wean themselves given time
  11. I don't start to wean my pups, I let them start the wean themselves in their mothers food bowl.Sometimes they are as young as two weeks when they find the bowl and help themselves, others are much later. The bitch will wean the pups for you and it doesn't matter is they are still having a suckle when they leave home, providing you have introduced them to a water bowl and they eat and drink on their own, without their mother.
  12. Battery with invertor to power fans and lights when the trailer is not running off the car. Water tank Storage that will fit gazebo's , puppy pens and trolleys in it, so you aren't putting them in your car
  13. I agree with him " there is no place for dangerous dogs " , however he needs to understand that a "dangerous dog" can be any dog or any breed or cross. Once he can work out the difference between a "dangerous dog" and a "resticted breed" be might be able to make some headway towards ridding the State of "dangerus dogs"
  14. Judges really need to start refusing challenges, rather than handing them out like lollies. There are some hideous examples across the breeds that have titles, because judges didn't say no and quite frankly whole line ups in some cases that should be told no.
  15. The first thin I would be doing is taking a look at the dogs diet. You can clean them with Malaseb diluted to 3mls Malaseb to 100 tepid water. Using a sauce bottle fill both ears, massage let the dog shake it's head and then dry with a towel or paper towel.
  16. My current babies hit the raw meet before their eyes even opened. Their mother needed a boost so she had a couple of days of red meat, chicken necks and chicken hearts and the pups found what was in her bowl. The first thing they ate as a solid was raw mince and they are now 6 weeks and having necks and mince. I chucked RMB's in there last week and they sucked and chewed what they could.
  17. That's the one... Now what needs to happen is for more people to take local councils to court or at the very least threaten to do so via Solicitors letter as local councils aren't going to want to be spending rate payer dollars , enforcing State Gov legislation.
  18. sorry but I had to laugh at that one.
  19. No different to someone who has two limited registered dogs, breeds them, would register if they could but can't .. It all adds up to the same BYBer Edited: as my M key appeared not to work
