  1. Feed her a quality protein source, such as some additional raw meat on the bone, mix it up to include chicken, lamb, rabbit, beef etc. If you feed dry then perhaps look at RC 4800, Proplan Performance, Canidea Pure Elements, Advance Active
  2. I did a search for "kennel", "breeding", "breeding establishment" and "housing" and could not find anything that clearly stated all breeders would have to keep their dogs in kennel blocks and were not to be kept inside at all. The relevant section seemed to be referring to boarding kennels and shelters and commercial breeding establishments. I can't submit a response to this if I can't find any reference to it in the taskforce submission. DogsNSW doesn't seem particularly concerned about the kennels thing. Maybe people should read stuff before they start disseminating information and canvassing for support. Just saying. I did read it, a couple of times infact and the more I read, the more alarming I find it and to be honest if this goes through, I may as well pack it all in .
  3. Would we be able to battle the term "commercial" based on ATO rulings ? The ATO is not interested in my "dog business" as it's would continually operate at a loss
  4. Has the breeder or breed club been contacted ?
  5. My Whippets were a bit funny with those but the Staffords didn't leave anything behind and a couple of the Greys thought they were great.
  6. Try some whole raw fish, they will either love it , hate it or insist on rolling around in it
  7. I make observations. What is there, is there for all to see. I don't over extrapolate to create issues that don't exist. Much is conjecture and wishful projection, based on correlation that remains unproven. All the data is not in and may not be in for some time. It is simple folly to make judgements, rulings and condemnations when no evidential case can be made. Let me translate that folks. It means bury your head in the sand
  8. You've got to be kidding, anyone can title a dog in this country. All that proves is you've entered enough shows and gained enough points. There are Champions across every breed that shouldn't be, let alone be bred from
  9. I need to buy one for a Whippet and I need to buy one NOW  Can you please PM me how much money I need to send to someone and how quickly I can get one made for my Sessy
  10. I don't think some people can grasp just how easily a dog can be degloved or scalped. It doesn't need to be a sustained or prolonged attack for it to occur and I've certainly seen it occur where the dog that caused the injury was not a bull breed.
  11. I think as the division between "work" & "show" lines increases and it's already happening just as in other working breeds, there will be an even bigger increase in the cottony pelt that does not easily shed. Coated breed individuals that retain and don't easily blow their coat are desirable, regardless of it being correct.
  12. So basically we can post providing we agree with you ?
  13. Except this dog was in his own yard.
  14. As a groomer, that's one of the things I didn't get to see.
  15. For a big dog, a kids cot mattress is great, pop a mattress protector, fitted sheet and then a blanket on top.
  16. Myra Savant discusses this in her books etc. The fact that dogs are inside in 'dog rooms' more and not getting out into the sunshine as much can affect their general health as well as fertility. She recommends getting them outside more (of course) and also full spectrum lighting inside. Must admit some of those designs are pretty funky though! Quite a few good ideas. I like the designs and the ideas too. I've seen some great ideas for beds using old cabinets and desks.
  17. I caught the tail end of an article about the "rise of dog rooms" and what it means for breeders. I'll try and find it, but basically it said that with the rise in "dog rooms" comes a drop in fertility and general hardiness of the dogs, because they spend all day laying around in their air con and heating and not out in the fresh and sunshine.
  18. I'd be starting with Karen and then whatever she suggests. She's been the one the FB owners and breeders have taken their dogs to for years, me included. I'd seek a second opinion from her
  19. He's back thanks. That was perhaps the shortest foster Whippet chase in history.
  20. MISSING: Zuzee is missing at Wyoming on the Central Coast Of NSW. He is wearing a black collar and is microchipped. He is also wearing a navy blue rain coat. He has been gone less than an hour and fears are held for his safety, as he does not know the area. He is friendly and should be easily approachable, especially where other dogs are. His owners have contacted the Gosford pound and are now contacting the local radio station. If he's sighted or found please call Lynne on 0423 768 522 or Jacki 0429501671
  21. If you were using one in a line up behind me, I'd probably not be too thrilled. I really don't need my dog trying to turn around while he's being judged. For individual judging? Fill your boots. Pretty much how I see it and use them too.
  22. Fences are there to keep the resident dog in and if the bars and wire are sufficient to do so, then that is all that is required. A dog sticking it's head, paw or leg through or under someone else's fence, is likely to suffer an injury if the resident dog doesn't tolerate other dogs.
  23. Happy to give you some lessons in taping feet, toes etc. Plenty of practice with Greys
  24. No longer, it's now a mix and contains chook Well that's crap!! Many moons ago it only contained kangeroo then added beef and I could no longer feed it Yes it used to be a very good quality product, then around 2000 something changed and both myself and some other I knew noticed it. Then Nestle took over and it was all down hill from there.
