Looking for additional resources in my collection. I may have to resort to 1996 Dogalogues and they are hard work to go through -
I hear ya. I was emptying them out when I was at my breeders place - projectile vomit I heard a good tip ... place a plastic bag in the trap before pouring the solution in. When it's time to change them just take the bag out. Still stinks, but slightly less yucky! I'm sick of the flies Did I tell you that I love you today My OH won;t empty them as he tells me he will be sick... Now I don;t find the smell all that appealing either but at least I get the job done I shall try that this week

My old vet said " why would you want to pump that crap into your nice dogs", my new vet is slightly kinder with her words but feel about the same

I second Huga's, you can't go wrong with a tailor made one from her and those D rings aren't going to give way anytime soon. My Staffords and Pointers have road tested them. -

That's a no for them being able to do it Would a drive to Bathurst be out of the question ? ETA I should have added call Deidre at the Pet Pantry in Bathurst and she should be able to help you out. Experienced and nice to the dogs -
It's not the be all and end all and when things get out of hand here, I turn the hose on

I used to have that problem as well, but not nearly as bad given I only have 10 or so at any one time. I armed myself with the spray bottle and squirted anyone that jumped up and down in the kennels or made a noise while I was getting them out. I found the ring leader who stirred everyone else up and once I sorted her out, the rest improved straight away.

They don't suddenly lose the will to live and spend the rest of their days laying around on the couch , eating themselves into oblivion

I'm looking at it from a breeders point of view , not from a lost and found persepective. We chipped before it was compulsary. I've also kept a copy of every chip from every puppy that I've bred . A chip is a permanent record that I produced a certain puppy, if it shows up in a pound or if someone tries to make a claim against me re parentage, illness etc. I've never been happy just letting a puppy head off to it's new owner with nothing but ANKC papers in their hand. A chip with matching ANKC papers to me is an insurance policy, no one can ever claim that dog or puppy to be anything other than what it is.They can't switch papers for another dog. Well, in theory they could but that chip is always going to be able to prove a case of fraud. Of course it also means that if the dog ever ends up in a pound and unclaimed, as a breeder who is committed to looking after my own, there's more of a chance that I will get the dog back or at least be able to contribute to it's costs etc. Is someone were to ring or email me and say " ive got one of your dogs " or "is this yours" all I need ask for is a chip number and I can confirm it in less than a minute.

I cannot understand why any breeder would not be chipping their pups prior to sending them off to their new homes.

eat more chocolate and get up to around 120kgs, so I can walk my three Staffords, safe in the knowledge that I can then control them -

I've come across quite a few where they are listed in the canine journal according to the one word rule but then the breeders have them on their website as two words. -

Refusing To Eat Barf Patties
WreckitWhippet replied to huski's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'd scrap the patties for her and give her a couple of chicken wings in their place. BARF is not the be all and end all of every dogs diet and like us, there are some things that some dogs just don't like or the food does not agree with them.
