I'm struggling. I had to come home 20 or so minutes before I wanted to and now I haven't got one I'm happy with. I'll finish editing and will pop in here later. ETA: This was taken looking up into a storm filled sky so the background was all grey, then I've played around with the colours. I try not to do a second pic, as it's called " a photo a day" but this one I have titled " Dog food made romantic " It's the Friskies factory -

Dogs NSW were pretty quick off the mark, they were in behind closed doors seeking assurances that no ANKC breed would be on the list of restricted breeds in NSW before BSL was introduced. Got ANKC papers and a microchip to match them and you do not have a resticted breed in NSW. If you are a member then you get to read minutes from meetings, messages from the President and the like. Dogs NSW are now conducting training courses for Rangers , vets, nurses and authorised implanters about identifying RB's, they also run the breed assessments for the NOI's and have a hand in the temp testing. You can pretty much say that they have a hand in everything BSL related and are on the ball when it comes to looking after the ANKC dogs. Was having a chat to my Ranger and he was most impressed with the Breed ID seminar that he attended and is confident that he'll be issuing a lot more NOI's in the area and dealing with those who are breaking the law. -

But dogs have already done the handshake behind closed doors and no ANKC registered dog is on the hit list in NSW. That's what it's members own You will however find yourself in trouble if your dog does something and council decides to take action as a "dangerous dog" -

I doubt you'll see that in NSW. Dogs have already done the deal and why would they put the member time, energy or money into it, when member dogs are not on the RB list. -
Never fear Dogs NSW have cut a deal for the ANKC registered breeds. Amstaff is one of those, APBT is not. If they are indeed the same dog, you have to wonder why anyone would purchase an APBT , when there is the perfectly legal alternative in the Amstaff. The moral of the story is, want a bull breed, then buy one from an ethical ANKC registered breeder and you will be provided with a microchip and a slip of paper called a pedigree that will ensure your dog is not a found to be a "restricted breed"

Bummer and I've got no idea

Then there was the little red nosed girl who was just turning 8 weeks old when she spent two weeks in a Sydney pound while myself and her owner desperately tried to get her back. She was breed assessed whilst still in the pound and found to be an RB cross, she was released shortly after that breed assessment and still had her NOI in place pending temp test... She was carried out of the pound on leash and muzzled as per the requirements. Waiting outside the pound sitting in his car , ready to seize her for non compliance was guess who.

I'm keeping with the horsey theme again tonight. I think I prefer equine photography to canine and I'm going to start doing more of it. -
just a council regestration, on the NSW website i just checked it sed i need the microchip form and thats pretty much it, i always thought i needed to have the perants forms but that must be for a pedigree regestration only. Once a dog is registered as a certian breed can it be disputed later on? and on what grounds can i fight it? I just explained in the other thread that you can chip and register your dog as any breed or cross that you believe it to be. This will not however prevent your dog from coming under ranger scrutiny. Things are getting tougher in NSW and with the latest attack and death they are set to get a lot worse. Be aware that any ranger anywhere in NSW can stop you whilst in public ( or come to your home ) and issue you with an Notice Of Intent to declare your dog to be of a restricted breed. Your avenue of appeal is via a breed assessor. They are mostly Dogs NSW judges, who will assess your dog , at your expense. If you take this option, there is NO means of appeal if they consider your dog to be a Pit Bull or a cross bred Pit. If breed assessed as an APBT, the chip details will be changed and you will be required to comply with the child proof enclosure, muzzle and leash requirements. If ruled a restricted breed cross, you can they at your own expense have your dog temperament assessed ( by DGL approved list of assessors ), if it passes it can live as per a normal dog. Fail TT and it's the enclosure , muzzle and leash for the rest of it's life. So in a nutshell you can do what you like, but if you walk your dog on the street or a neighbour dobs you in for having a restricted breed, it's in the hands or essentially one person to decide you dogs fate, unless you have an aweful lot of money to chuck around and go to court. If you purchase any bull breed or cross without ANKC registration papers, you could well find yourself appealing an NOI , all at your costs.

Any Vets That Recognise Breeds
WreckitWhippet replied to pittylover's topic in General Dog Discussion
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier does not come with a red nose. The correct Stafford is black and the blues have a blue or a slate nose. Liver Staffords are not common and their noses are brown. You can chip your dog as whatever breed you like and register it as such. It will however be changed if a ranger issues you with an NOI and you fail breed assessment. The only thing not chipping as an RB does is prevent you from having to comply with the RB legislation, it will not stop you being caught out in the long run and things are going to get a hell of a lot tougher. -

You must first have the puppy chipped if you are in NSW or do a change of ownership ( the puppy should have been chipped by it's breeder or the petshop ). Once chipped , you take your white paper called the NSW Companion Animal Register Certificate of Identifaction along to your local council and pay the money to register your dog. It does not need to be registered until 6 months of age but you can do it at any time prior to that age. If it's you Pit puppy registering at something else will not prevent a ranger from issuing you with a notice of intent to declare it a restricted breed. It will however enable you to bail it out of the pound a lot quicker than if it's not chipped and registered and with less fines to pay.

PB pro lets you do the same stuff but there's no freaking ad's in it and you can have the high res images on there. For me it means that I can edit there , save them there and print them off. I still have my originals on my PC but all of my edited stuff is in two accounts, one of which is available for public viewing Now back to the photo's
