How Do I Entise My Dog To Dring
WreckitWhippet replied to Lizzy06's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
She has to be drinking and drinking enough, otherwise she would be dead. Just put out a selection of buckets and make sure fresh water is always there. -
There's nothing wrong with having crazy, hyper, mental dogs, but that said, they should be trained to stand still for examination and behave in the clinic. There's nothing worse than dealing with out of control dogs while you are trying to inject, listen to their heart or look in an ear. It's a pain in the arse for the vet and makes their job more difficult. I have a nutcase that would be a prime candidate for a sedative I love her to bits and wouldn't change her for the world, but she knows how to behave at the vets sits quietly in the waiting room and stands still on the table for as long is necessary.

Charlotte’s Breeding A Bone Of Contention
WreckitWhippet replied to Teebs's topic in General Dog Discussion
If the dog hasn't been TT'd within the 28 days of the issue date of the NOI, council can still get this dog. They won;t need to go down the road of the DD tag. It appears to have taken a while to get a breed ID and the clock was ticking, if fhe didn't write to council, request and extension of time to seek the TT ( would also needed to be approved by council in writing ) then council can simply declare. The legislation is a mine field. -
why would you sedate a dog for such routine things Get started on the consult, see how the dog goes and at worst place a muzzle on it.
-
What a horrible loss. I hope they can find the strength to pick up the pieces and go on.

These "optional" extra's really get up my goat. If dogs need pain relief or IV fluids as part of a routine spay/neuter, than incoporate it into the price quoted. I've heard vets say to clients " would you like Fido to be administered with pain relieving medication ? it's an extra $$$", it's a guilt trip and a money making spin on the part of the vet. Hence why I like my vet, one straight price quoted, no "optional" extras, get in get the job done and the dog goes home. BTW they are a teaching hospital for the Uni of NSW, so hopefully the students visiting will learn a thing or two from them.

It's sad when you see people with their new bundles of joy and they have tiny frightened little babies, that have barely cut their teeth and you just know they are nowhere near old enough to have left home. I like to keep my guys at least a week or two after 8 weeks, if they are doing really well they can go at 9 weeks.

Landscape - should be called "dryscape", was a pleasant 41 degrees when I popped out of the car to take that one Portait - would liked to have done better but it was 42 and if you get too close to that filly, she bites I was telling Lea about my water pic, driving down the highway at 100k's an hour, camera out the window and not looking at what I was taking pics of. I don;t know if you'd call it a "water" pic or "mobile" -

I just wanted to say thankyou to everyone, for your kind critiques and encouragement. I've not commented on individual photo's but have taken inspiration from many of them and have really enjoyed looking at them. I'm thrilled with some of the pics I've managed this month and I've really learnt to think more when taking the pics and I'm really proud that I took some that required no editing at all Onwards and upwards and I'm looking forward to Feb -

I did the hut at the farm, it's across from the main house and gardens and it has a special romance and charm all of it's own. I guess that it was lived in at some stage or was used for the farm hands. -
