  1. They look like baby eyes to me... When buying a puppy check that both parents ( and see copies of the certificate ) have a current ACES eye certificate ETA: I meant to come back and add to this post this morning but had to go out. You should give your breeder the courtesy of contacting them first if you have any questions about a puppy you are purchasing from them.
  2. I pay around $40 depending on which vet does it and that includes a 20 minute chat and check up.
  3. I can't suggest a trainer or obedience club but would suggest that you go straight to obedience. Stafford pups at that age are too full on for pre-school and they tend to terrorise the other pups with their antics. You can try taking them for short walks together on leash and get Coco used to being around Holly without the excitement. Coco needs to learn to focus on you and whatever game you are playing with her, needs to be more exciting that beating up poor old Holly. Teach Coco to fetch, play tug and to focus on you with treats treats or a favourite toy. Set the boundaries when indoors and train Coco to sit quietly on a mat or on the lounge. You may need to keep her on leash when you first bring her back inside, until the excitement dies down. SBT pups are very full on but they learn quickly that there's a time and a place for letting the energy out.
  4. Unless you are looking for some for or refund or partial refund, I wouldn't take it any further with the breeder. It's just one of those things that can happen to a puppy and it's a case of getting on with it and doing the best you can by the pup now. You could ask the breeder if they knew about it, but who knows if you'll get a truthfull answer.
  5. It could take months of glue and tape , given that most exhibitors start as soon as the first ears drop or fly. I use tearmender glue and paper tape.
  6. Ask your breeder what they look for before rehoming and what their vet checks when the pups are vacc'd and chipped. An ethical registered breeder would not rehome a puppy with any apparent problem. If such pups were to be placed, the puppy buyer would be made fully aware of the puppies condition. A breeder that is looking to keep something for themselves, will select the puppy or puppies with the best conformation and the attributes they are looking for. You really need to speak with the breeder, rather than speculate.
  7. Most likely they will stay that way, unless you tape or glue them. I don't leave ears to chance and the second they drop or look to fly away they are taped. It's not to late to start but it will take longer.
  8. mine eat grass , they get some fruit and veg but it's peels , slices of fruit and chunks of veg.
  9. why that one ? just out of curiosity, what does that particular one have in it ?
  10. :p why go for the "quick fix " and pump your dog full of chemicals that it doesn't need, when you can assist your dog to improve it's immune system and the majority of them will get over it on their own ? It may take longer, but doing it naturally you have improved our dogs overall health. If you are going to talk "super premiun " dry food, then you really need to know what is in it.
  11. I'm considering having one of mine done. There's no excuses for not exercising and training your dogs but there are dogs where the proceedure is warranted and enables them to remain in their homes and their owners retain their sanity
  12. We leave mange alone. We look after the dogs from the inside out, feeding them all raw diet, with some additional vitamins and aloe juice. We let the mange run it's natural course. Yep, they can end up looking rather bald but I wouldn't give my dogs ivermectin if my vet paid me. We are lucky and have a vet who thinks the same as we do and is prepared to sit and wait it out.
  13. Or alternately, he finds the couch very comfortable and wants to be close to you. Yep, wanting to be on the bed or on the lounge with you, is not about being dominant or challenging your authority, it's just the best place to curl up next to you.
  14. hmmmm and then there's those who haven't had poo breath in their life, who suddenly at the age of 6 surprise you when they hop into bed one night
  15. Come and meet us at the triple show at Scotts College on the 8/9/10 May. There will be three days of all breeds to look at.
  16. I've got the little Wahl pocket pro, but only use them for the tuck and tails, I use whisker whackers from Lea ( pm her ) to do the whiskers. I find that clippers take hair off the face and I think they bring on grey hairs quickly.
  17. Bless her, she was another special one. At least she spent her last couple of months on a comfortable bed and with people who loved her
  18. We used to have sheep that we dogged on a regular basis. There's nothing wrong with raising your own to dog, however in suburbia you will probably find restrictions apply on what you can keep in your back yard. Killing things is also a sure fire way for a neighbour to send the RSPCA round.
  19. Call your breeder and speak with them first. Gary Christou helps to keep my guys fit and healthy and usually see's dogs on Tuesday night after 6pm, his contact number is 63612857 A trip to Sydney is just a day in the scheme of things and your dog deserves a second opinion and the best treatment available.
  20. I spent ages editing this morning and then had PC poo itself. Not happy with the second effort but anyway " Multi tasking = eating 'bix and watching Manny"
  21. Mine have wings every day. We also chop whole chooks up into 1/4's or 1/2's and I also buy Maryland pieces .
  22. Everyone has such awesome ideas, I don't know how you all think of them
