  1. Yep but given she's looking for the easy way out, as she doesn't have the time or inclination to fight this, then debarking is a great solution. I can see a dead dog on the horizon
  2. The OP has already said she doesn't have time or the inclination to fight this, why people bother to suggest playing games with the neighbours and reporting them for essentially nothing is beyond me It would be easier to have council declare and then get the dog debarked. Debarking if done properly can leave the dogs virtually silent. There's a couple of great vets in NSW who can manage this and I'm sure there'd be some in Vic too.
  3. Hope they are not in NSW as it won't even be legal for the kid to walk the dog alone for another 4 years.
  4. He's spent too much time watching Bridget Jones and thought he'd borrow the funny Jokes aside, people must be really naïve to think that there own pooch wouldn't consume them as a means of survival.
  5. If I had complaints about mine, I'd ask council to declare them to be a nuisance and head to the vet with the declaration and have them debarked. Why bother to fight it or get upset about it, if you don't have the energy or time to deal with it.
  6. My casual call is "dogs name" to get their attention and at the same time as the raised hands signal "come" I won't repeat the command but I will tell the dog how good they are on the way in and bend over to encourage them.
  7. A Bullmastiff it certainly wasn't. Another cross bred owned by a tosser
  8. going zapp does work, although the RSPCA might come to visit.
  9. That is incorrect, it is not illegal to debark, it is only illegal to show a debarked dog. I too would recommend debarking. Better that than going to court and trying to prove it's not your dog.
  10. Constantly. My yard frequently has dismembered birds in it. I know they manage to ping more than one at a time as I often have more than one bum end in the yard. I know my older bitch is very skilled at catching them and her son is pretty smart, he waits for them to get in his food bowl and then corners them in the kennels.
  11. Did it once without issue... May not be game to try it this time round though LOL Good luck , I think I'll go the old fashioned way
  12. Probably because they are often on paid shoots, have been asked to cover the groups and general specials by the clubs or they simply want to take pics of friends dogs. I'm not professional but I really only take pics of dogs that belong to people I know or if there is something spectacular that catches my eye. Sadly there aren't a lot of dogs that are truly eye catching and photograph well, I skip straight past those that aren't stacked or gaited correctly and focus on the dogs that are going to produce the great shots.
  13. I don't get it, if you feel guilty about leaving the dogs all day, then why not come home and take them for a walk
  14. It's amazing how quickly they do take to toileting outside when given the opportunity. I am yet to clean up a puppy poop or wee today and they are 5 weeks old.
  15. Inside , outside under the verandah, out in another yard or in the kennels.
  16. If they hold council pound contracts they are well within their rights to PTS any unchipped dog after 7 days and 14 days for one with a chip.
  17. Teal or hot pink , sky blue, greens, red, bright looks great behind black and white
  18. Not every owner shares your opinion and there are some that like their dogs have correct ears for the breed, even if it means taping or gluing in order to achieve it
  19. They need to be encouraged outside for toilet breaks every couple of hours if you are going to keep them locked in the house. I'm not sure how happy new owners will be with pups that have no idea where to toilet and think the bathroom is an acceptable place to go.
  20. You need to take for a couple of weeks Put the glue or tape on and only take it off just before you go into the ring on show day. When you are done for the day tape again and leave them taped or glued. For a pet, I'd go a couple of weeks and then change the tape, as the ears growing and if the tape is not kept flat or becomes tight it can affect the crease.
  21. I get mine going to the toilet outside early and if they are in the kennels or yards I distract them with a chicken carcass. I teach them that by going straight outside or onto the lawn there is a treat waiting, rather than trying to clean up around them.
  22. The only diseases that you can guarantee against are those that you can genetically test for and therefore know the status. Vaccinated puppies can contract parvo and HD is not simply a genetic issue. If you buy a puppy, having done your research and know what can best tested for, then the rest is in your hands as an owner. It's a living creature and shit happens, just like kids gets sick, live life in pain or die, so do dogs. As a breeder, I'm sick of being punished ( as part of the dog world as a whole ) for sick and diseased animals. Wake up world, it's a living breathing creature and things can and will go wrong, accept it, deal with it and move on.
  23. Lamb ribs from Woolies are small and possibly dangerous. Lamb flaps are larger pieces of the rig cage.
  24. Stainless buckets, concrete waterers and handing horse feeders.
  25. I don't discuss price as it's not set in stone, I may sell one puppy for well over a thousand and give the next one away depending on breed experience and the home on offer. What I sell my puppies for is no one's business except myself and the person getting a puppy.
