  1. When starting out babies on chicken, you can try wings or necks, but buy human grade, feed them fresh and always take away what they don't finish. I've never had an issue with pups handling raw food, we start our at around 5 weeks.
  2. The Vebo one's are very good for the price, they are strong enough to keep our Staffords in. I have purchased other cheap crates and they were just that, cheap and bloody nasty.
  3. I've got three complete sets not quite sure why but I'm hanging onto them ETA : and a mint condition book and another set of cards...
  4. Ask MM, she is the Goddess of show suits and clothing, just don't mention thongs or ugh boots to her...LOL If you don't want a suit, you could go with a nice fitting pair of pants and a shirt of some kind or a skirt and top. Just be carefull not to buy anything that is too dark if you have a dark coloured dog or that will blow around in the breeze or flap about while running.
  5. well, my start to the year is a bit boring compared to Ash's
  6. Take the pots you've given him away. Either build a puppy proof baracade or remove the remaining potted plants from his yard and reintroduce them when he gets older. He needs to know which toys are his and not only that, he needs to be shown how to play with them and amuse himself. Buster cubes and treat balls are good for the active puppy or dog, they can work for their meal and occupy themselves. You could also provide raw meaty bones for breakfast, they will also occupy a puppy for some time.
  7. Brett and Sway enjoy greeting me like a cannon ball Sway in particular likes to hurl herself at chest height
  8. I have five that sleep upside down, it takes a bit for them to get flat on their backs
  9. We've had out first parvo cases ( that our one vet knows of ) in town last week, it's been the first time in years. Thanks for the link
  10. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...hl=fading+puppy Hope the link works, there are others and it's worth doing a search for them
  11. "fading puppy syndrome" is a term that many ( vets included ) like to chuck about when puppies fail to thrive. There's a thread on here in breeders somewhere, that discusses "fading puppy" v's " failure to thrive" it's well worth a read and I'll see if I can find it for you.
  12. The only time I worry is if by some miracle one of the Staffords manages to catch up with the Whippet We don't have stairs or anything they can run into. I like to get the camera out when the kick off, it makes for awesome pics
  13. No ethical breeder would knock back a request to confirm parentage, if there are any doubts, why not just ask them.
  14. I've now mastered the art of the axe I can get them to now chop clean and the bones sort of pop apart, I then get out the knife and finish cutting the flesh. My Whippet has always been a bit picky when it comes to her food but she loves roo tail as well, she doesn't like the bones but she strips them clean
  15. I want to decorate all of mine to match the house We're about to change the flooring and the wall colour, so I'll make them all match in the next 6 months. My dogs have more bedding than I do and they get theirs washed every couple of days
  16. I have canvas crate covers but I've found it nicer for the dogs to just rug them all in winter and to leave the heating on at night for them. I just use a cover whenever the bitches are in season, to protect the walls.
  17. Take your pic, we have 11 of them There aren't any toys in them, as that just encourages them to bang around and play at night. We have hanging water buckets. Blankets are mostly double fleece, some have wool blankets and there's some dry bed as well. Food bowls are removed after any meals.
  18. I tried doing that and made a complete mess of the kitchen and my fingers nearly froze! My local butcher where i buy my other meat happily cuts them for me even though i didn't purchase the roo from him. I leave mine frozen in a plastic shopping bag and take to them with the axe, I'm suprised I still have all of my toes, I was a bit wild and inaccurate in the early days
  19. I don't give mine the whole tail either . I meant whole as in a whole piece not cut in half and big enough the dog has to chew it :D . I saw mine into pieces while they are frozen. I'm sure some of my little piggies would happily take on the whole tail About a 6 inch piece feeds a Stafford for a day.
  20. We feed our Staffords roo tails at least 3 days a week. They eat the lot. The babies go through a stage where they just strip the meat while they teeth and after that they eat the lot too. Mine don't have whole tails as they are more than enough to feed three dogs a meal. I chop them into three or four pieces with the axe.
  21. I think the daily exercise and the attention is far more important than the luxury suite and the plasma.
