Would You Ring The Council?
WreckitWhippet replied to Yacket's Mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Council.. It's not the first time, let them deal with it. -
I only have one at the moment who has decided after being here for years, that there's some urgency to rush in the back door. It doesn't apply to going out the front or back doors or coming in the front way. We've gone back to the basics again where the door is concerned. I have no aggression or recall issues which is one thing that I am both very proud of and happy with.

Studmasters- How Do You Prefer To Mate Your Dogs?
WreckitWhippet replied to Bulldust's topic in Breeders Community
From what I've seen they usually mate first thing in the morning, then rest for the majority of the day and then they start to get a bit randy again in the afternoon. I've seen them mate sooner after a feed of fresh meat. On the topic of meat I've watched a dog that I thought was a bit of a lazy stud and someone said to me, " chuck him a feed of red meat and then watch him " , I was a bit sceptical at first but sure enough a couple of hours later they'd tied. -
Name Those Hard Working Stewards
WreckitWhippet replied to Ceilidh's topic in General Dog Discussion
"Sarge" That man has been around as long as I can remember and I think he was my ring steward for my very first show. He's an awesome bloke to have a joke with, he can lay a bit of shit on you and is the master of giving you a hard time He does a whole lot more than just keeping the ring going, I think he's got a sixth sense and can smell a nervous exhibitor a mile off. -

I'm quite a fan of ducks too -
Well whats it about then? More made up stuff about how you think I dont no about kangals or how I write or if I have owned kangal before and no how to look aftar one or even how long I been waiting for a good dog and not buy from just any one? If there aren't any "good" dogs available in your price range then you either have to compromise on the quality and take what you can get for the price or save up the money and purchase the "quality" dog that you are after. However, having said that, you may also find that the outstanding puppies are going to be very limited and that others who are actively showing, breeding or have some connection to the breeder may take precedence over you.

The shaddow is on his dark eyes so the pic lacks the intensity but he's working -
Try the bitsa test. He may well turn out to be none of the above and could have a spot of Wei or Dane in him

This place also allowed an exhibitor to stay with their dogs for the May shows last year. They might be worth trying. It's a few k's out of town.

If you are willing to travel the 25 minutes back into town. Blayney tourist park will allow dogs on their grounds, providing they are NOT in cabins and exhibitors clean up after themselves. http://blayneytouristpark.com.au Give them a call if you can't find anything in Bathurst.

Studmasters- How Do You Prefer To Mate Your Dogs?
WreckitWhippet replied to Bulldust's topic in Breeders Community
I pretty much follow what Steve does, all of the ties we have are at least 15 minutes or more. I think the more you put your hands on, the more you stress them. With no interference we have mated, Staffords, Pugs and Pointers. I've had a couple of bitches sent to me that the owners say they are "hard to mate " or "carry on " and we've had none of that. I've watched people put leashes and muzzles on bitches and hold them so they can't move, help the dog on, guide it to the right spot and make it a three man, two dog operation. I'm not interested in that either. A good stud will mate when the bitches are ready and a happy , healthy bitch will do the same. It depends on the dogs and bitches but we tend to see one mating a day for a couple of days, then a couple of days where they will tie twice a day and then maybe another day or so and the bitches go off. -
Bidding Madness Riles Locals At Blacktown Pound
WreckitWhippet replied to Steve's topic in In The News
Perhaps they euth more animals in terms of numbers , but then that's entirely to be expected given the size of the pound and the location. They would not be the highest in terms of % that come through the doors. I believe that Forbes leads the state with that one. What's a few hundred to a BYBer or farmer, they stand to make many times that amount selling the offspring anyway. Desex and they are no longer usefull or desirable to the BYBer. Yes, the kill rates may increase with mandatory desexing but I cannot see how that could be used an an excuse. It's better to rehome 100 dogs a year , desexed , that a few hundred many of which will be entire. -
Studmasters- How Do You Prefer To Mate Your Dogs?
WreckitWhippet replied to Bulldust's topic in Breeders Community
Me too. I introduce them with the bitch on lead and then let them off , stand in the yard for a few minutes and make sure she won't take his head off. Then watch them from the back door or the window. When the dog and bitch are both in my house, I let the out together each day, watch for a couple of minutes and just let them run together. If the bitch isn't ready she'll tell him and I'll seperate them again until the next day. Once they have a mating I let them run together for the duration of the season. By the time the bitch goes off, the stud dog has worked hard and is not interested in harrassing them. I've not had a bitch squeal or protest, if they are allowed to run together and do it on their own. It's a mating, it's supposed to be natural -
If you get stuck the van park here has re-opened and it's pet friendly ( or at least it was if no one has ruined it )

What Colour Would U Call This Apbt

There is obvious shading over the muzzle, down the chest etc where you would normally see the tan points. So would he still be a seal ? -

If you can't afford to buy the dog, then you can't afford to own a dog and $400 is a very reasonable price. Pick another one, there's no shortage of dogs to choose from ETA: agreed, put in place mandatory desexing before rehoming -
