  1. I'd remove all dry foods that contain grains and any yeast from his diet.
  2. It doesn't matter what the dog was or wasn't, the media said Pit Bull and the damage is done, there's no reversing it. It will be unlikely that anyone with any influence will come out and argue against it, nor is anyone with any influence listening to people who are arguing about breed ID. It's rather timely, given the Vic Governments resolve to further tighten Vic legislation.
  3. He is in Sess's lines isnt he SBT? He is way back in my guys too. Never got to see him in the flesh, but he was a stunner by all accounts and all the pics i have of him are beautiful. Yep, he's in behind Sessy.
  4. How about they start with the basics, that's the CAA and POCTA, enforce what is already there and at least try and get that right, before moving on to some other hair brain scheme. There is enough in POCTA if enforced to put the puppy farmers out of business. If of course that was ever the RSPCA's real intention
  5. And that was the last nail on the coffin.
  6. I would be VERY careful about sending a Stafford pup to a doggie day care, unless they are very experienced with the breed. Socialisation for a SBT ( or any puppy ) should not be a free for all, it should be controlled and with known puppies and dogs. It only takes one incident where he feels the need to defend himself and you could have a lot of hard work ahead of you undoing any damage done at day care.
  7. Check to make sure that it is indeed registered and they are a current member yes it happens
  8. What is your fencing situation like now ? Is your yard fully secure and do you have somewhere to seperate the dogs ?
  9. I have been advised by the RSPCA that I could be prosecuted for doing that. No doubt you could be prosecuted too. Next time I find on the road (I've never hurt one when driving), I shall leave it there, phone the RSPCA, and if they do not attend in a timely way, I intend to make a huge song and donce to all the media. Someone will come and take photos of the suffering. Really ? I'm doing the wrong thing by putting one out of it's misery ? Let's face it, if I can dispose of it, then it's highly unlikely that it would be a rehab candidate.
  10. I can tell you now I wish there were some cops around on a country road when you whack one at 2am. It sure beats disposing of them on your own.
  11. Well I guess the officer could have left injured and wandering about, just waiting for an accident to happen or for however long it took for a ranger or the RSPCA to rock up.
  12. Finally someone is talking some sense
  13. We we told in no uncertain terms at one specialty by the steward " if you have been placed, DO NOT leave the ring until your dog has been critiqued, the photo's have been taken and you have been directed to do so " If someone did leave, could they have lodged a complaint or withdrawn any prize and place awarded ?
  14. If you have a judge that is doing critiques then it's my personal opinion that you remain in the ring until the judge has finished. I think it's very rude to leave the ring The stewards have been pretty strict at the SBT shows and state that the dog must remain in the ring until the judge has finished writing the critiques and you are dismissed. If it's a problem and you've got another exhibit in the following class, hand your dog over and have someone else wait with it for the critique. This happen quite often with no problems.
  15. Stafford Ch Sandtoys Arsenal There's loads of them that I think are awesome dogs and bitches but I'd take Gunna home in an instant, if only his owners would let me I see that dog and I stop whatever I'm doing and just have to watch him.
  16. I have just sold one pup who was over 12 weeks and a bitch that I ran on at 5 months, they were both sold to awesome homes within two days of being advertised. They sold because they were both crate trained, walked on a lead, had started basic obedience and were vaccinated ready to hang out with their new owners.
  17. Mine has seen a few matings but she's yet to come to that conclusion. I too was hoping it might put her off for life
  18. Just on the issue of chipping. For VIC it may be different but in NSW the breeder is responsible for making sure that the microchip papers are transferred into the new owners name. You as the breeder get the new owner to fill in the transfer form and you lodge it with your local council. There are fines for not doing it within 14 days of the puppy/dog changing hands. Chip papers in the eyes of the law, are the one's that count. I'm sure just about every breeder out there has dogs under their name with their CC's, when infact they have been with new owners for years.
  19. Ofcourse they can eat it, it's what many owners can only afford but I thought that pups weaned on raw/barf and are then switched to a commercial diet end up with itchy skin etc. Like their systems just can't cope with the wheat and such. I would say that's a pretty fair call. I've got a couple here that have now spent the majority of their lives on raw. Give them a cheap cup of food and their coats go putrid overnight, their turds are huge and runny. They can tolerate Royal Canin on a weekend away if need be. I've also got some that still eat Royal Canin and give them anything cheap and nasty and they get runny eyes and itch
  20. So are you saying/asking If a pup is raised on barf, is it then unable to eat cheap commercial dry or dry in general, because it would cause skin issue and digestion problems?
  21. Yep, not a huge one but busy practice. We also had the same issues in the grooming salons.
  22. Big sign on the door Dogs on lead Cats in cages Yes, that means YOU
