No I don't think so I get mine done as soon as I know they are not going to be bred from again, the risk of pyo increases with each season Not for me as my stud dogs have never carried on like pork chops, although the lack of hormones does seem to calm the bitches down. Bitches are bitches and will fight amongst themselves, especially when someone is coming in or out of season.

Dog showing is supposed to be about "the dogs" . It's not a competition for the best handling skills, unless you are competing in JH's, it's about the dogs and how they stack up against their standards. The neuter title is for the dog not the person on the end of the leash. A dog which by all accounts should be equal in every respect to the entire dogs, they are just minus a uterus of balls. This neuter title should still have some prestige attached to it, it is still judging conformation. It should not be about everyone dragging second rate pets out of their yards just to have a go. I also wonder if the ability to "non award" has been factored in there somewhere, or if it's going to be an empty title that will just be handed out regardless of the quality.

Actually I think they will gain more from being in a class or a points neuter line up, with competition , then they would going in doing a lap and having a judge spend two seconds going over the dog. The bigger the classes, the more time in the ring, the more times they get to come back in and learn something

It wouldn't matter if they were learning to show a neuter or in the current show format, any new comer is going to need support and mentoring. If you don't ask for it, or happen to strike someone who spots your difficulties and offers to lend a hand, then it's not going to happen. I am and have always been the biggest supporter of new people to showing, I will bend over backwards to help out. If more people aren't willing to do that, then I don't see how a neuter title is going to make one bit of difference.

Personally I think a dog with a conformation championship should be excluded from exhibition in the neuter classes for this reason. I spoke to another this morning who is going to bring out her Res CC Speciality and consistent class winner. The bitch is also a multi BIG , class in show winner. There's going to be some pretty stiff competition out there, going by what the people I have talked to are going to bring back into the ring. Her words were " why should they have a free ride to a title "

Not going to happen to me, as they were all on limit. But, any of the main registered failed show prospects that I've desexed and parted with over the years could well turn up, regardless of their faults. Food for thought, if you are going to pet out a failed pup that you ran on, you'll need to down grade it to the limit register, to prevent the above from happening.

Something else to think about is this neuter title encourages desexing before maturity, in order to compete.

That's what I was thinking too. I know I'll bring my older girl back out just for that title. She may as well add that to her list of achievements. Most of the people who I've talked to so far aren't going to bring out their "pets" so to speak, it will be their best that have retired due to things like pyo etc. I can't see it encouraging new people, as they will still need a main register dog or bitch. I think we'll see a lot of good dogs, that usually come for the ride each week and loved showing but until now couldn't unless neuter was offered.

I do how excitment! I will, I can bring out Sway. We can go Ch, Neuter Ch and then Veterans , that will fill in that year before veterans We're winding down and giving up the breeding and showing, as the last of the current dogs retire that will be it. It will give me something to do while the last of them title and retire

Did you get the glue off and your money back SBT123? No it was our fault, we didn't read the fine print and the charges of $4660 was correct. The vet said that it will take a while for the glue to come off and the hair to grow back, but not to worry as it won't impact on their ability to reproduce. We are thinking about having a litter, so we can get our money back

That needed to be bolded, made bigger and in red. It's a point that is missed over and again.
