  1. I don't stuff around with hiding meds in foods. It takes two seconds to open a dogs mouth and pop a pill down their throat. Then give them a treat when you're done. ETA: I wouldn't stand for any snappyness either, it's just not on. Open his mouth a little and pop a small piece of cheese or something that he likes on his tongue. Open his mouth a bit wider each time you do it. Once you can open it wide enough, pop his meds in and then give him a treat. You need to be able to do this, incase there is a day when he's not eating.
  2. I can't find a dog sitter, kid sitter, house sitter and two extra days in the weekend
  3. Vegas got RUBIG in that mud Cudal was more cyclonic than actual rain
  4. They have 12 months from the date of whelping to register the litter
  5. Sounds like they handed him an NOI and the owner failed to challenge it, so they went ahead and declared. 13 years old is a bit rough ETA: If they didn't hand him an NOI, then he's well within his rights go to the council and demand his dog back.
  6. I guess they didn't count on the little old ladies, those who they have attempted to stomp all over and the breeders fighting back. I think they are going to need a much bigger budget, as people wise up and hit back.
  7. he makes me laugh. They pick what they think are the soft targets and go after them, they make sure they aren't out of pocket. Having seen what they ask for in "costs" is laughable. Crying poor, so they can witch hunt, gotta love the RSPCA It's really time that investigation and prosecution was taken out of their hands and they can just run the shelters.
  8. I've still got stuff out drying in the shed I wonder if AA's tack box and Vegas have recovered from the down pur I created
  9. It's pays to sit the back row Not with that  rain
  10. It's set to get worse, unless you get some professional help. If you are going to keep entire animals, the best thing you can do, is to build dogs runs and lock them up if you are not home. A fight between those dogs could result in the death of one.
  11. It doesn't surprise me. They are probably more up to date with their understanding of immunity and vacc protocol, than the majority of breeders and dog owners in general.
  12. Well, there's one thing for sure, you can't let a dog roam in NSW, regarldess of where you can and can't do a u-turn
  13. If the breeder didn't put Nickojoys address on the paperwork, he could not have been sent the white page . I think the fines are excessive, but unless they are wrong, you need to pay them. The pup could not have been registered in Nickojoys name if a change of ownership had not taken place. If the change of ownership were incomplete or if the initial chip for were incomplete, council would not have processed it. Even if for arguements sake nothing was ever process by council, no paperwork was sent etc, Nickojoy has been involved in rescue and rehoming long enough to know that she needed to chase it up with the breeder and to make sure that the transfer went through. The process for NSW is that the breeder chips in their name ( or the new owner if all details are known at the time and the owner signs the form ). The form is them processed by council and the pups details are recorded on the register. From there the breeder completes a change of ownership form, using the buyers details, the buyer signs that and the breeder than sends that into council within 14 days. The buyer revieces a white paper (NSW Companion Animal Certificate of Identification ) from the breeders council, that has all of the details on it, it also states that the animal is currently unregistered and that the new owner will need to do so. That is also the time which you make sure you details are correct That certificate is taken to the new owners local council and the puppy is registered before or at 6 months of age. The new owner then recieves a Certificate Of Registration, which again has all of the details on it. The breeders gets an initial cert of ID, the buyer gets one when the change of ownership takes place and then there is a cert of registraion issued. There's a paper trail a mile long for a dog or puppy chipped in NSW. Leave one mandatory detail off at any point in the process and council is on your back before they'll process it.
  14. go Rozzie . You'll be right, the challenge will change for next month and you'll be looking at the world from a whole new angle
  15. breaking a jaw and corrective surgery for something as simple as an overbite, in my opinion is overkill. Even in the worst of situations and the bite ends up with inverted canines digging into the roof of the mouth or in the gums. Simply grinding off the tips of the teeth will suffice. I've seen the most shocking overshot and undershot jaws, with massive gaps. Owners need to keep a bit more of an eye on the teeth and provide plenty of raw meaty bones, just to make sure that plaque doesn't build up but other than that, they live just like any dog, without the need for expensive and unecessary surgery.
  16. Shoot for a square crop and collage for a square. This is Clyde's little man Stanley. He's now known as Stanley Brady
  17. Use a gate at the bottom of the stairs and only take the dog up and down on leash. If the vet said rest, it means rest and you need to contain the dog in a pen when you are not home.
  18. Ask to see their canine council membership card, it will have their name address and prefix on it and an expiry date ( for NSW anyway, not sure about the other states ). Get the prefix details and the call the controlling body that they are members with and check that they are still members.
  19. And people wonder why others won't support their cause
  20. I cannot believe that someone who claims to have spent so much time in rescue is ignorant of the Companion Animals ACT, especially where it relates to dogs at large and chipping.
  21. I've had someone let two of mine out, when I believe they were breaking into the yards and kennels to steal a bitch in season. One of the dogs who was in the kennels chased them off but not before they let out my two younger pups. Mine were chiiped, registered with council and the details were up to date. Impound fees and a dog at large fine didn't worry me one bit. I would have paid anything to get them released the next day from the pound and was bloody thankfull it was a ranger who picked them up and not someone who decided to keep them. I too got off lightly, I got both pups back in one piece
  22. I'm sure they'd appreciate being left at the pound for 14 days just to save you money Hopefully that was a joke. It was a joke, but you can see why we have so many dogs in our pounds being killed day because of these fines. The fines arrive after the dogs are released, the owners pay the impound fees at the time of collection, so that arguement doesn't wash with me.
