Get Huga to make you some, she might do them for you.

I saw some the other day but can't think where

Can I ask out of curiosity why you would prefer no permits or restrictions on numbers? If a back yard breeder is turned off breeding by having to pay $300 for a permit then isn't this a better place to start than saying they have to be chipped and registered once they have all ready been brought into the world??? But the BYBer doesn't bother in most cases to chip or register and they are even less likely to pay for a permit. Once again it's the registered breeders who pay for the permit, register and chip all of their dogs. Many people can't care for one dog , some can manage ten or more without issues and provide for their needs. Restrictions on numbers doesn't work either and again it limits what the ethical registered breeder can do and makes not an ounce of difference to those who can't/won't meet a dogs needs.

It used to be OK until around 6 or so years ago, then it went down hill. We ( like many others ) had previously raised puppies on it, we suddenly found them hard to get started on it, our older dogs got the runs and the poo was huge and disgusting. It's in the crap food department along with Barko and Albers.

They don't do anything to encourage people to do the right thing. I really think that Government need to get the most basic of basics working and have excellent compliance, before they can even think about things like mandatory desexing. The number of dogs that end up in DAS that aren't chipped or registered, should tell them that it's not working.

I'd prefer to see no permits and no restictions on numbers. I'd like to see emphasis on the chipping and rego. Got to start with the basics or it just doesn't work.

Letter Template For Rspca's Anti Pedigree Campaign
WreckitWhippet replied to BJean's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm lucky if I can get an acknowledgement of letters these days. I'm still waiting on my letter one for letters that I sent months ago regarding LIDA and McGreevy. I won't hold my breath on this one -
Doesn't add up does it.

Vit B injection. We keep a bottle of Vit B on hand.

Do you still live with your Mum and Dad ? If so , you have some real issues to address before the arrival of your new dog.
-
I'm more concerned that they take a litter of puppies from a foster home and what would be a relatively safe environment in terms of disease and exposure and place them back in a shelter, while they wean them. Maternal anitbodies have started to decrease and they are at a vulnerable age in terms of disease and also it's a critical time for socialisation, learning from the bitch and exposure to house hold noises etc.
-
Another tick in the idiot box, for the RSPCA. Dear Dog, how hard is it to wean a litter and then send them directly to individual forster care when they are ready to leave at 8-10 weeks.
-
Octomum could have taken them for a whole lot more $$$ than what she got. I can't see her having any influence on speys and neuter awareness.
-
You have to wonder who is exploiting who
-
I don't force the issue as there are no advantages to weaning them early. I start to offer food from around 4 weeks, if the want it they will eat it and the bitch keeps topping them up. We have had puppies still taking a suck from Mum just before they are walking out the door at 9-10 weeks. It doesn't mean that they aren't eating and drinking on their own. Don't be in a rush, the bitch will switch the milk bar off when she's ready and there will naturally come a point where the pups want more than they are getting from her.

The earlier the better for an SBT. They are usually the most outgoing, the naughtiest and the most boisterous in a class.

My Whippet is my girl but when my daughter is around they spend countless hours playing with each other. Sessy goes to Poodie's room every night and kisses her goodnight. ETA: My older Stafford bitch will also spend a lot of time with her as well

Poll: Have You Ever Used The Report Button

Every now and then but most times when you press the report button, the poster has already pressed "self destruct" -
My first stop for puppies is the chiro.

The obvious choice would be a "staffy" cross "mastiff" -

I'd like to know how many of those "missing" dogs are chipped, registered and kept in their own yards.

Sometimes the written word is exactly what you'd hear in real life. From me it will be, it's just I can't add the swear words on here.
