Yep and I think the stats for the coming 1/4's won't change much

Forget about puppy pre-school and wait the two weeks before you can attend formal obedience classes. Socialisation for an SBT puppy should not be a free for all, it needs to be controlled and neither yourself or the current instructors are taking control of the situation. It sounds like you have a typical high drive Stafford puppy, they are the best when it comes to learning and wanting to please you, you just need to learn how to harness that drive and get the best out of your pup/dog. You need to go back to the very basics, getting your puppy to focus on you, learn her name and keep her attention. Work out what is the biggest reward for her, be it food, a toy or a clicker. Forget about letting her off with other puppies and dogs for the time being and attend classes. When you have control of her and she will focus on you with distraction, then you can begin to introduce her to other pups on lead. So far all she's learnt is that it's lots of fun to get off lead and terrorise the other pups, that's not your fault and there's a couple of instructors that need a kick up the bum.

Quickas, mandatory reporting would now be in full swing. All councils are now aware of their obligation to report and audits have been completed. Those who were not reporting have now had their bums kicked. I would expect that the stats will now level out.

We are never going to get incidents invovling dogs to zero, but if people followed the basic rules of on leash, effective control and keeping their dogs on their own property, there would be a reduction. Education is the only thing that is going to reduce the number of attacks that involve dogs in their own home. Owners need to choose wisely the breed that is best suited to them, provide an enriched environment for that dog, include the dog as part of the family, supervise, train and socialise it. Of course "Staffordshire Bull Terrier " is going to top the list, it includes the generic "staffy", the brindle dog that could be anything. I'd like to see no dog registered as a certain breed, unless you bring with it the ANKC papers, that correspond with the microchip. I think we'd see a big shift in the stats and "cross breeds" would be topping the list.

Should A Pregnant Female Be Given Heartworm Meds?

I don't, there's no Moxydectin or Ivermectin ever for my dogs and bitches. -
I personally don't want to be calling mobile numbers, they cost a fortune to ring and there are many times when you are on the phone for 20 minutes to an hour. Free emails I don't care so much about, as it costs me nothing to reply to them.

Eye are my favourite thing to capture, I like the eyes to remain dark, yet capture the detail and reflect the light from them. I do early morning and no direct sun onto the face, but face the dog to the sun. Most of my dogs are black with black eyes, I've had plenty of practice

Tough call, I think I would too.

Turn the lights off and make the house as quiet as you can. If you have kids send them off to their room and turn the TV etc down.

Pet Dogs To Be Put Down After Killing

I am not defending the behaviour of the owner, nor anything else, for that matter. But here it is again .... signs of WHAT aggression? How do you KNOW it was aggression, LouiseBrooks. No-one should be putting labels on these dogs nor of their behaviour if you don't know what behaviour it really was. Whether you like the behaviour or not, it is not something that should be subject to these assumptions. Think before you shed your opinion and express your opinion on what you KNOW, not on what you think something MIGHT be. This particular circumstance aside, I see a lot of people who jump to conclusions. Isn't that what we tend to get critical of the media doing in various newsworthy items they report on? At the end of the day, Erny, staffies and staffy crosses, pitbull and pibull x are dog aggressive. NO two ways about this; the only way to resolve this is for shires to implement strict regulations and not allow just any tom, dick or f&&&&ng harry to be able to get hold of such breeds. I love these dogs but they do need a fort knockes (spelling ?) to make sure that noone has to lose their beloved pets at the jaws of such dogs. What ? Speaking in regards to the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the breed standard calls for the animal to be totally reliable and a gentleman unless set upon. There are some that are dog aggressive, as there are in most breeds, however there are many Staffords that do not go actively looking for a battle. We have standard suburban fencing, not " fort knockes " as you put it. We make sure that our dogs remain in our yard and when they are out of it, it's on leash unless permitted other wise. Well SBT123, some posters have stipulated that such dogs are escape artists and that they are able to scale high fences. All I meant to say was that shires should ensure that anyone wanting to adopt or purchase such breeds should have adequate fencing and prove to be responsible owners. I don't doubt that you are one of those responsible pet owners but unfortunately alot of others are not as in the case of this tosser! I also believe that not all staffies go actively looking for WW3 but aren't the ones that do not the exception rather than the rule? Staffies and the likes were bred to kill other dogs in the pit, is that not so? Gosh, owning a pack of staffies is an accident waiting to happen and only owners that can ensure that these dogs are not able to jump, dig, escape their way out should be allowed to own them....when at work they should have runs with a concrete floor where they should be able to place their staffies to ensure that nobody has to lose their much loved pets in such a tragic manner. Any buyer of any breed should make sure that they have adequate fencing to ensure their dogs stays in their own yard. I've had plenty of SBT's over the years, including visiting dogs and dogs that have boarded with me, I'm yet to come across and escape artist. Dogs that lead rich and fullfilled lives, usually don't try to escape I have three SBT's, none of my current dogs go looking for a battle and none of my past dogs have ever been dog aggressive. The vast majority of other SBT's that I know personally, are very much the same. Of course there are always exceptions and the owners of such dogs that I know, make sure that they contain and control their dogs and bitches. Owning a pack of Staffords is not an accident waiting to happen. Owning any dog or mutliple dogs that are not trained or socialised is, regardless of the breed. -
Mine can often sound like they are killing each other.

What a shame they prison isn't allowed to starve him for the duration of his stay. Would save a couple of tax payer dollars each day.

Pet Dogs To Be Put Down After Killing
WreckitWhippet replied to Abigail's topic in General Dog Discussion
I know if stray dogs entered by yard and injured of killed on of mine, I would not stop hounding council until the dogs were at a very minimum declared dangerous and kept under the restricted conditions, my preference would be for them to be destroyed. There are no second chances as far as I'm concerned , that would extend to my own, if the escaped and injured/killed another dog. -
Nancy, do the points work in the same way for the Neuter Group ? If you win BOB and get your points, will you then collect the extra's if you are the best neuter in group , as per normal group , up to the 25 ?

If you want a really worthwhile momento, take a camera and get a pic of you stacking your dog at every show. It's something I wish I'd done, I just have a few pics of badly stacked dogs and bitches, to remind me how hopeless I was. LOL
