  1. You have two options. 1. wait for proof of desexing and then upgrade the dog from limit to main and then the owners can show him in the neuter class. The neuter class has always been around but offered by very few clubs. The opportunity for a neuter title will begin in July, but again the clubs might be slow to add the class, if at all. 2. Upgrade the dog from limit to main and transfer into joint names at the same time. Before you do that, you'd have to nut out a co-ownership agreement and cover everything from feeding to breeding, entries and all the other "what-if's". You need to make sure it's water tight and that it would stand up in court if either party breached the contract. To be honest Dogs NSW and the other CC's are as useless as tits on a bull when it comes to these things and if you don't have a written contract ( and even if you do ) they will simply tell you any breach of an agreement is not their problem. They will still register litters sired by the dog etc. You need to either take option one, which is safe in every respect or be really sure and have a water tight contract and be prepared to enforce it, if poo hits the fan.
  2. LOL, I'm going to make one tomorrow if I get a chance. I have to go to SL this arvo and they have some really good quilted/padded ( dunno what it is ) but it's thick and stiff and will make a good inner for a little house
  3. Make one. For less than $30 at Spotlight, you'll have everything you need to do it.
  4. The dog will have layed around and slept for most of the day while you are at work. Night time then becomes their time to get out and hunt, bark at anything and everything and race around the back yard. Allow him to come and go from the house until you are ready for bed, then it's an accompanied toilet stop and locked in for the night.
  5. I'd have the pup PTS. Failing to thrive after that amount of time, would indicate to me that the pup has a problem.
  6. All of my babies are crate trained for the car. It has the following advantages They can't move around outside of the crate Can't chew It reduces the excitement and they are more inclined to lay down and rest It places a physical barrier between you and the pup They are less likely to be car sick or stressed You can cover them up and in summer if you want to cover them just use a sun shield for a windscreen over the top The can't see out the windows In time mine have all moved to being able to hop in the car and sit on a seat quietly, however we still use the crates 99% of the time.
  7. Veterinary research has shown this not to be the case. I would NOT gamble with heartworm....I've seen what they do if a dog is infected. It's not nice. Show me please
  8. It's more the anti-breeder/anti-pedigree sentiment that concerns me and it's starting to rear it's ugly head again.
  9. Anyone that treats a bitch and pups like that, either intentionally or through not knowing any better, should have their prefix taken off them.
  10. Me LOL I make them in small Whippet ETA: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=166863
  11. If she's not a show or breeding bitch desex her now and if she is use Alizin instead. There's not point bringing a cross bred litter into the world and certainly no point in letting a show/breeding bitch have one. It's a waste of her having a litter.
  12. I wouldn't, as he didn't take adequate care of the bitch prior to her whelping.
  13. What do they do when they get to the end, do they turn and go back the way they came or do the jump onto the floor and up onto the beginning the lounge again??? They do a U-turn at each end , knock all the pillows off and bark at each other.
  14. Whippet zoomies on the lounge . I know I should tell them off but I can't when I;m PMSL and they have ears pinned and tails tucked, doing laps of the L shaped lounge
  15. Count them as they come out and let the bitches eat them. I've never had a bitch vomit or get an upset stomach from them ( as others claim ) and I think there is vital nutrition and sustenance to be gained from doing so. Those first few days are very taxing on any bitch and some may not feel like eating. I've never had a problem with a lack of milk in the first days and think eating the placenta's has a lot to do with it. ETA: I have a sheet that I tick off as every pup is born and there's a box for "placenta". All I need do is see it come out and what the bitch does with it after that, is up to her.
  16. I talk almost daily to one and see her on a regular basis. I call another when I have news, problems or think they need an update. The other I'd speak to every couple of months and send pics when I have them.
  17. Are they better if they have another dog for company? My dogs might be very destructive if they were lonely, but being that there's two of them plus our old Lhasa, they don't really destroy anything aside from a toy here and there. No not really, two bored or lonely SBT's is twice the damage and two times the noise and ten times the work to train them.
  18. SBT's live to spend their days and nights with their families. Bored and lonely SBT's can and do develop behavioural issues and it ranges from escaping, to barking, digging and destroying your yard. Raising one to become a happy well rounded adult, takes a lot of time, training and most of all interaction with the family. If someone in the house is home, they want to be in the house and be part of whatever you are doing.
  19. Shiba's blow coat like there is no tomorrow. They are not for the fiant hearted in the shedding department
  20. Well, I was hoping that my camera still worked.. it's been a while I wanted a nice head shot of my other Whippet, but the zoomies and the ears conspired againt me and I was hoping that Poodie might at least try and contribute a shot to the thread where everyone goes "wow"... that's not to be either There's still the rest of the month
  21. umm let's see, disappearing backs to the box and not wanting to be social, discharge from eyes and a breeder who said the pup could go at 7 weeks.
  22. The Ranger is right, it's not an ANKC recognised breed. And no the ABDA, GDBA and the UKC do not have the same international standing as the ANKC, KC or AKC.
  23. Why would any breeder want a puppy buyer to feel obligated to take a puppy, just because they feel they may lose a deposit. That's certainly not in the best interests of the litter.
