I'm coming to squeeze them out of her. LOL

Sibes and Mals have been known to sleep on the concrete even when provided with a bed. Some refuse to stay inside, even if the weather is freezing. For some, the colder the better and the more they like it.

The first round of parvo in town early in the New Year infected puppies that had not been vaccinated or had not had a second or third vacc, the latest round was pups and also included older dogs that had been vaccinated. I know of these first hand from the clinic, not from the media. Twice this year we have been vaccinating our pups or those due for a booster from the back of our car or at home. I think there is a lot of misinformation from both sides flying about but YES you do need to vaccinate your dogs, as not vaccinating at all could be deadly.

NSW will register most litters and will place them on the limit register, flagged " never to be upgraded ".

Post Tooth Extraction Food
WreckitWhippet replied to MolassesLass's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Use foods that don't flake or need chewing. Diced meat will do the job, as it can be swallowed in chunks. I recently had a canine removed from a Stafford and she was fed chopped chicken necks, as she could swallow the peices whole and she could still benefit from the bone content and also chunks of VIP dog roll ( the plain one without the veg ). It's not an ideal diet but it's just for a few weeks or so. She was 6 weeks before she could have any roo tail or carcass etc again -
I want someone to explain to me why you wouldn't let a dog tie, turn him round and let him stand there just like every other breed. It's a genuine question

If it were an SBT I wouldn't leave a bitch past three, my preference is to mate them as young as possible, providing they are mature enough to cope. As for a dog, as soon as he's got viable sperm and your happy with his conformation, then I'd use him.

Best hurry up and find one as Little Poodie ( 4 years old ) has a lead collection all of her own too Before Tiny Tots class, we have the discussion about which lead will go with her jacket and which bait bag she should wear
-
A natural mating without letting the dogs tie, is just too crazy for words. Slip matings can produce pups but dogs tie for a reason.
-
why would you do an AI ? just try for a natural mating and a tie.
-
Yep, we have it in our town too.

I think I should insure my lead collection. I wonder if any company will take that task on

" too much bling, is barely enough "

Do You Have To Have A Prefix Before Mating A Bitch?
WreckitWhippet replied to Jsk's topic in Breeders Community
You used to be able to mate your bitches with your prefix pending. Now it's a case of sit the open book exam, wait for your prefix to be approved and then mate your bitch ( that's for NSW anyway ) You could possibly appeal to the board under special circumstances, they might allow the litter to be registered, quite possibly on the limit register. -
LOL Don't talk to me about lead length ... and my inability to measure correctly. I'm very particular about how long they are, too much or not enough leaves me frustrated and unco

I match leads to outfits or I just pick a colour that I like and go with that. I have pink and silver on a Stafford, she has several leads and they are all pink and all have bling. Another Stafford has a silver check chain and black lead I also have several Stafford collar and lead sets in black and brass and black and silver The Whippets, I'm not fussed what colour they have, Macey has a white lead and Sessy has a black one. The Pointers had leads in every colour. It's more about the weight of the lead and it being suitable for the individual dog or bitch

If you can find some sucker to take it off your hands, I'll make you a trolley mat or something else to replace it. It's about as useless as tits on a bull, unless you want to wear it LOL -
Mine doesn't but they are very understanding and supportive when it's time to make the hard calls.

Temperament In Historically Independent Breeds
WreckitWhippet replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in Breeders Community
Pretty much what Ellz says In addition to that, I find the watered down dogs to be just as much if not more of a worry than the dogs with the correct temperament. " Bold, fearless and totally reliable " in my opinion is what makes the Stafford such a stable and enduring dog. It's those dogs with the nerve, that tolerate the kids and put up with situations that would bring many a dog undone. Water it down and you have the fear aggressive, gutless wonders, that make for ticking bombs. Put the pressure on them and they go off. -
what date does the Ekka comformation start ?

I refer to anything that's not a pedigree dog as a mutt or mongrel and it's bad luck if people take offence.
