Do Not Walk Your Dog Off Lead!
WreckitWhippet replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Saw two people walking their Shitty cross down the highway the other day, two lanes going both ways... another accident waiting to happen. It's against the law to do it , no matter how well trained you think your dog is. -
Looks ok to me too. I was expecting to see every rib, back bone and pronounced pins on her. She's got more weight on than my girl LOL
-
what's her muscle tone like ? I tend to judge a Whippet by the muscle mass, rather than the body condition ( fat ). I have a girl who is very thin, she's hard to keep covered and there's nothing medically wrong, yet she has a good amount of muscle on her. I'm reluctant to chop and change foods but I've recently switched her to Black Hawk Holistic and everyone that knows her, has commented on her body condition and how it's improved.

I think that weekend used to go Canowindra, Bathurst ( that date moved to make our triple ) and then Young on the Monday, so Ange is not confused.

40 minutes is such a long time for a baby to be on lead. -
It's " Shepherd" and the least you can do is learn to spell your own breed.

Kennel Cough + Shows + Dont Do It! Agh!
WreckitWhippet replied to Missymoo's topic in General Dog Discussion
It bloody sucks to have it, we've been through it once this year. Lucky for us, it was a local outbreak and we contracted it after a triple show and did not infect anyone else that we know of. I'd like to think that people will listen to your plead but I'm afraid it will fall on deaf ears , as there are plenty who just don't give a shit. We quarantined ourselves and sat at home for 6 weeks, to ensure the health of those we would later come into contact with. -
She wasn't ill, she was just neglected her children and animals full stop.

If it was to enforce the laws already in place I'd be there too. Yep I'd be all for enforcing what currently exists... But I know that's not the case and supporting such events is just helping to bang the nail in my own breeder coffin. When the RSPCA and the likes can come up with something that is not to my detriment, or anyone who breeds dogs with due care and consideration, then please let me know about it.

I think they managed to break a leg on one of Rozzies and kill a few of those too. If the RSPCA seizes an animal, you are lucky to get it back alive, in one piece and healthy.
-
Didn't they manage to kill a couple of healthy Koala's too ?
-
Imagine what they could have done with a shave Congrats on a great start with them both

If you want to pick a supermarket brand try Optimum Puppy dry.

And what exciting footage did they get from Jundy Gard besides an understandably emotional older lady and a pack of well cared for show dogs. well done RSPCA , you are quickly adding to the list of lives wrecked, all in the name of publicity

Snowy would be a better bet on not biting the kids if he was one LOL

Being Prepared - Where Can I Find Goats Milk?
WreckitWhippet replied to Tapua's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have tried all of the above and my guy do not do well on it. hense the hunt for the goats milk. I'm hunting for you too. I haven't been able to come up with anything local. Although Google did tell me there was a Cowra Farmers market, I'm not sure if they actually run one but it might be worth looking into. Bathurst has a market too, so there may be an opportunity to find someone there. ETA: If i can find any , I'll grab it and freeze it for you and we can meet or I'll leave it at the vets Cowra Farmers Market, 3rd Saturday 6342 9225 Cowra Showground Cowra Don;t know how old the info is or if they still exist -
They won't get any APBT identified from a BITSA test. It will have a lot of border collie in it and chuck in some Irish Wolfhound LOL

I guess you could write to council and complain about their lack of professionalism

What Size Greenies To Feed My Dog?
WreckitWhippet replied to nadz's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
well if you were using them to clean the teeth and chopped the greenie up, then it's a pointless exercise. if you want something suitable to clean the teeth, that's not over processed muck, then an air dried treat made in Australia is an alternative. better still feed your dog a raw piece of roo tail , a chicken wing or whatever, as the stripping action will help to clean the teeth. As you are already doing that outside on a regular basis , then there's really no point to the greenies. The anwser to what sized greenie is one that he can't swallow whole but consumes it all.
