The alarm bells are a ringing

He's possibly over angulated in the rear and thus gangly and unco. It's not uncommon and certainly nothing to worry about if that is the case. If the breeder has already pointed this out to you, then they are porbably being honest about the situation, in saying that the pup will grow out of it. To be honest, it sounds like a vet trip would be a waste of money, have another chat to your breeder if you are concerned.

I don't know how I've managed the last week with no voice and absolutely no ability to yell at Brett the bastard. I think he's sensed that yelling is beyond me and I'm going straight into hands around throat mode
-
I'm slightly more refined than that LOL

well I'm none the wiser as to what's actually going on. Given that dogs NSW didn't offer any substantial reason as to why Tom should be ousted from his position. I have however, in the course of the day, worked out how to vote and make sure it counts

Morning Tea For The Judge & Steward/s
WreckitWhippet replied to Rottsup's topic in General Dog Discussion
Everybody knows everybody and there's no point pretending otherwise or putting on the airs and graces, so as not to offend someone with a small mind and a large bunch of sour grapes. -
ahhh-ha, I know the feeling

 and use your fingers to find the loot, so you don't choke on it -
No any dog used to flush, point or retrieve vermin or birds are not classed as dangerous. If however you took your Pointer and used it to hunt pigs, it would be classed as "dangerous" and you would need to comply with the CAA requirements.

Why does the call to " ban the sale of puppies in petshops " always come with the fine print including " developing a Breeders Code of Practice, and enact as mandatory legislation; introducing a compulsory licensing and regular monitoring of all companion animal breeding operations." It's never just about banning the sale of puppies in pet shops, there's always some other agenda tacked onto the end of it.

Morning Tea For The Judge & Steward/s
WreckitWhippet replied to Rottsup's topic in General Dog Discussion
That reminds me never again to offer a steward and judge a drink out of my esky on a stinking hot day too. I've done that before, seeing them both stand around in the heat and wind, I thought it was the "nice" thing to do, but apparently that's not the case. -
Yes I noticed that. They are demanding 'open stud books' so that parentage and ancestry of a dog can be traced back over the generations. For the greater good. They want and have that info, so that they can draw a line in the sand when in comes to COI's and place yet another restriction on what we can and can't do as breeders. ETA: of course that will be for the "greater good" Ok lets back up. Open stud books means the stub book is not closed to outside dogs from other non approved registries or dogs with out registration. To open a stud book means that you allow dogs that are not registered in the stud book or an already acceptable outside stud book to enter into your stud book. For example, if you open the stud book for kelpies, it could mean that all the WKC dogs and the farm kelpies could then be registered in ANKC (which they currently can not be). It can also mean that you cross the current population of a breed with another breed to increase the genetic diversity, another words controlled cross breeding. Opening a stud book or having open stud books, has nothing to do with allowing someone to see the pedigrees. Pedigrees are already public information, can be purchased on disc and the RSPCA opps I mean Syn Uni already have them. They already did the COI for the ANKC breeds and it was much lower than they had indicated it would be. I think Steve has those numbers. So the RSPCA calling for the stud books to be opened so you can look back at the pedigree, shows that they have no idea what is meant by opening stud books. Even though they have no idea what it means, and what they think it means is wrong, it is still a welfare issue in purebred dogs. Heaven help us. For the greater good. My apologies, I read your orginal comment incorrectly. I do understand what an open stud book is and how it operates.

His ears may be indicative of his overall skin condition and you are best treating from the inside out. Increasing his intake of omega 3/6/9, will probably help. There are plenty of pet brands available or you could use Performa3

and substandard will include our homes... you will need DA approved kennels in order to survive as a breeder.

Morning Tea For The Judge & Steward/s

My Dear Dog, that "handler" might be one of the few people who is available or willing to perform the task. Someone bloody well has to. I've dropped a few bottles of water and the odd cup of tea and biscuits off to judges and stewards. It never ceases to amaze me -
ohhh you are so committed and you tell me I should send Bretty for a holiday
-
It was a bit confusing but I've worked it out now

Thank you Sno Paws from the bottom of my heart. This is the RSPCA's comments in relation to this. What are you thoughts? The RSPCA is powerless to prosecute irresponsible breeders unless they are committing an offence under animal welfare legislation in the state they are operating in. Sadly, this means the situation has to be very bad before we can intervene. Unless they have an agenda and you can go for a row, for having a dog with worms... It stinks to high heaven off bullshit excuses to me. The RSPCA have the power, they use it when it suits them and rakes in the $$$
-
It would be lovely if it really were just about puppy farms and how to shut them down or at the very least improve the conditions of the bitches, dogs and pups but the issues and agenda's of those involved, make it much more complicated.

Souff, the alternative to the commune, is that every breeder selects their prospects to continue on with, shares amongst their fellow breeders and knocks the rest on the head. Naturally that would have people up in arms.
