\Sorry to offend, you misunderstand me! I am trying to delete them FOREVER. But I am uncertain what i can do to stop them advertising on our intranet! Is there anything I can do? I will delete it, but i was only getting the opinions of those here to see if it really is a puppy farm or not. How do i tell? :D I'm not offended, it just gives their sites a lot of hits and bumps them up the google searches

delete the link and stop giving them free advertising. It's against the forum rules

It's more of a pain for a dog or bitch to go back into surgery because they've pulled out their stitches. Some dogs and bitches you can get away without using a bucket or elizabethan collar but it's better to be safe than sorry. The same with letting them run around, it is best to keep them quiet and give their wounds the best chance of healing.

Amstaffs, Breeding Away From Standards
WreckitWhippet replied to geo's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not in the Oct journal - only Amstaffs, but now I'm going to go look back through a few back issues... Sonia Yikes, another 7 litters, same breeder, in the July Journal. 34 more puppies. All Amstaffs, all born in Dec/Jan/Feb... plus another breeder, different kennel name with two parent that have the first breeder's kennel name... Sonia ETA - Every journal I have opened so far has puppies bred by this one breeder, and I'm talking multiple litters per month. You're not on about a certain 'Greek' breeder are you, he must have 50 dogs on his yard. Hopefully the good breeders wil keep these dogs out of their breeding programs. Snap! Anyone got a copy of the dvd i have been meaning to watch it for a while now .... NOT! I've got the power :D I fell off my chair laughing the first time I watched that, then I realised he's serious and it was no longer funny -
ahhh yes, that rare brindle Pug, that no one had seen for hundreds of years... but taa-dahhh it's alive and well in the US.

Have You Ever Got It Right 100%
WreckitWhippet replied to Dust Angel's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep, Sessy Whippet never angers me with bad behaviour. -
I really should get my bum into gear and bring out mine too. Congrats on your NIS

Yep, have done it before and would do it again. Some breeders will tell you to piss off, others like myself are thankfull for the heads up.

Cody Is Sick - Geting Better Now :-)
WreckitWhippet replied to 7464's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I'd be watching him closely for signs of dehydration and make the call earlier rather than later. Even though it's cooler weather he could dehydrate quickly with vomiting and not drinking. Quite often dogs will pick up a bug or have an upset stomach for whatever reason. The upset passes but they can't recover on their own from dehyration and require IV fluids from the vet. Poor Cody. -
Don't you think it would be nice for the owners/breeders to announce such things , rather than you splashing it about all over the place.

Good topic. I've just been through exactly the same thing, although I have long suspected that the suspension is crap. I wormed my babies at 2 weeks with suspension ( I'd thought twice about buying it, as I just worm them with a tablet at 2 weeks ), next worming at four weeks I gave them a tablet and the worm burden left me stunned and feeling like a dirty breeder, who'd failed my pups. I haven't recieved a response from Bayer, other than the automated reply that comes with an email and that was 4 or 5 weeks ago. That reminds me to follow it up. ETA: when I wormed my babies at 2 weeks, I knew exactly what they weighed, calculated the dose and added a little extra to account for any that failed to make it to the stomach.

Family's Beloved Rottweiler Wakes Up After Being Put To Sleep With
WreckitWhippet replied to Burkes's topic in In The News
Any vet worth a pinch of salt, euthin'g any animal, will ensure as the very last thing they do, that the heart has indeed stopped. It's not a miracle, it's a cock up on the vets part with an incorrect/accidental choice of drug to euth with, a gross underestimation of what was required and certainly a failure to cheeck that the animal was indeed dead. -
Victoria Proposes Tougher Pet Breeding Laws
WreckitWhippet replied to Kraigoaks's topic in In The News
This is the least of your problems. They are about to hand over the policing of laws which to date have been in the hands of councils to the RSPCA and at the same time bring in the ability to have your stuff seized and for you to pay bonds even before you are found guilty. If there happens to be a ranger who doesnt like the colour of your hair and uses his power corruptly too bad - prove it. By the time you get close to having a go at defending yourself you're bankrupt or your dogs are dead and your whole life is destroyed. It stinks to high heaven doesn't it. The RSPCA will be able to walk in , take your healthy animals that are in no immediate danger and bankrupt you with bills for their care. There's no better way to ensure that an owner can't fight you in court, than to cripple them emotionally and they do that by seizing your much loved pets and killing off a few along the way. -
Vaccinations And Flea/worm Treatments
WreckitWhippet replied to BigPaws's topic in General Dog Discussion
1) Do you have to vaccinate, worm and flea your pups prior to selling as a condition of being a registered breeder? Vaccinate yes at 8 weeks with a C3 they are wormed on a regular basis from two weeks we have no need to fle/tick treat any of our puppies or adults as we have neither in our yard 2) Would you raise pups on nothing but a raw diet and sell them with the recommendation that they are fed nothing but raw and don't receive any vaccinations, worm or flea treatment? Yes to the raw diet, it would be my preference in the perfect world. A couple of the current pups are going to live with owners who feed raw. I have introduced them to dry, as there are four pups who will be fed dry as part of their diet. I would not be happy if the pups were not wormed or have their second vacc and one booster after 15 months. Treat for fleas only if you have fleas, it's common sense 3) Do you educate your puppy buyers on the dangers of processed pet food? Yes and encourage them if they want to feed dry, to feed one that is low or has no grains, preservative, colours, flavours, gluten and the list goes on. I encourage them to choose a dry that has meat listed as it's first ingredient 4) Do you think puppies need to have worm and flea treatments as babies and do you think they should be vaccinated? Yes to worming, no to flea treatment unless they have fleas and yes to at least one vaccination ( depending on which protocol you follow as a breeder ) 1) Would you buy a puppy from a breeder who hasn't given the pups any vaccinations, worm or flea treatments? Puppies from ANKC breeders must be vaccinated, so no I wouldn't be happy buying one with no vacc. My preference is for a pup that has been vaccinated 8 weeks or later and I'm prepared to wait the extra time to get what I want. I'd expect they have been treated for worms I'd prefer that pups have had no exposure to ivermectin, moxidectin or other chemical nasties and if they have required treatment for fleas , that it's the least amount of any chemical possible. I would not buy from someone who slaps on a chemical as a preventative and uses that as a selling point for their puppies 2) Would you be happy with a pup that has gone from mother's milk to raw diet? Hell yeah and in my ideal world, that's what would happen for every pup. My preference is for the pups to be left with their mother as long as possible and to be weaned when they are ready. There seems to a rush these days to wean and it's like a competition for some breeders, to see who can get them on solids the quickest. 3) Would you be prepared to continue for the rest of the dog's life with no vaccinations and feeding a raw diet? Once they have had a booster after 15 months, I'd be quite happy never to vaccinate again and very happy to feed raw -

Drontal Delay For Puppy
WreckitWhippet replied to schnauzer_mum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Hell yeah, return the suspension and grab a 10kg tablet and break that up according to his weight. -
The colour wouldn't worry me, the flagging would and I'd have put the dog over her again until the didn't want him.
-
So for you RSG, is it about how they are contained on the ute? Would you be fine with it if they were crated with adequate shelter and water or do you think dogs should not be on utes at all?? For me it's about the containment and the shelter.
-
They are subject to the wind, rain, snow and heat if they are not caged properly with shelter. Then there's the issue of them being tied on, or not tied on at all, I think it's dangerous even on a short tether and if you roll the ute they are buggered. Strangers think it's ok to pat them and heaven forbid if your dog decides one day that's not on They can be easily stolen. They are easy targets for people who want to do something nasty to them Easy to unclip and set free.
-
Get the weight off and keep her on the lean side. I would also ask your vet for a referral to a specialist and have the heart checked properly, that way you know exactly what you are dealing with, the grade of the murmur and the specialist will be able to tell you if there are any other problems.
-
You are right to be concerned and usually if you are going to have canines pulled, you wait until the adults have started to errupt and then have it done. It may or may not make any difference, depending on how quickly the top canines start coming down.
-
Ask your local ranger can you have a chat with them, they'll probably already be aware of the situation but go through what you have done to try and stop the barking, also get a letter from any trainer who has assessed the dogs. It's a bit of a catch 22 but request a " nuisance order " from the council for barking and that will be your ticket to having the dog debarked legally. It will mean that each time you move or update chip details that you will have to ticked the box but having had the debarking done, it won't matter.

be buggered if I'd let anyone bring their adult dog into my home to meet a baby.

I reckon I know who number one is Did you find out if you made the list? Nahh, whoever sent it, was too scared of me and wouldn't share or there's a fair chance the OP is a reincarnation and there never was one. Take your pick
