  1. Pretty much the same as Sandra, call in favours and do whatever was necessary to ensure the dog did not end up in the pound or somewhere unsuitable. I'd pay boarding fees or whatever needed to be covered. If the dog ended up in a pound of with a rescue, I'd be bailing it out and bringing it home for assessment and rehoming.
  2. another one to throw into the mix is ester-c
  3. I thought that when I looked at my 400D, it was called the rebel in the States
  4. The 8 weeks between vaccs is fine. The pup probably has no immunity at the moment, because of the first vacc being given at 5 weeks. If the pup were to be vaccinated now at 13 weeks, that would be the only vacc it would need until it reaches 15 months.
  5. If he were my pup, I'd waiti until he was over 12 weeks of age, then give him a vacc and one booster at 15 months. In the meantime I'd socialise without taking him to high risk places like dog parks and other areas where dogs frequent.
  6. Sounds like an excuse from a kindy kid " I carried it, it doesn't count "
  7. I hope the hand feeding was a joke, as you are you going create a hell of a lot more problems by doing that. I feel sorry for him, he's been raised on raw, then you expect him to eat dry that is made from corn, no wonder he turns his nose up at it.
  8. I don't care much for BYBer's, regardless of what they are producing. If someone wants to BYB Amstaffs or any Bull Breed or cross that may be mistaken for a restricted breed, then more fool them. They have a choice, they could own ANKC recognised breeds, become a CC member and protect both the puppies they produce and the buyers. It's a selfish act to knowingly bring puppies into this world, that could be seized and destroyed. The breeders of such dogs get no sympathy from me, when it comes to their breeding choices.
  9. My advice, do not go to the dog park. Socialise only with known dogs and those who have been introduced politely, make every experience a comfortable, rewarding and positive one for him. For many "socialisation" means a free for all in a dog park and for many dogs the generally rude, pushy and sometimes aggressive behaviour that goes with dog parks is more than they can tolerate.
  10. Science diet puppy has whole grain corn as it's first ingredient, at least RC Junior 32 has dehydrated poulty meat listed as the first.
  11. I know of a B & B that will let you take dogs in. It has 3 bedrooms and they provide bacon, eggs, home made bread etc but it's 25 minutes from the grounds
  12. Wrong lense and light but I had to snap her.
  13. motel, van or other ? indoors or car/trailer
  14. Junior 32, appeals to most pups and dogs that I've come across.
  15. Time may help but sometimes it just never happens. I had a pup that would turn himself inside out for me, he was a quick learner and did everything that was asked of him but there was no connection for me, we were just going through the motions. I sent him back to his breeder for that very reason.
  16. sorry but I've got to laugh, you can't be serious
  17. You wouldn't think it would be such a big deal for clubs to offer just 18 and 18a, they don't even need to offer all of the classes. It would cost them 2 challenge certs (per breed ) and 8 sashes.
  18. Are all humans bred to conform?? These puppies may not fit the stereotype of your typical "well" bred coolie but I wouldn't go so far as to be so hypercritical and say that they are "shocking." You'd best take a closer look at them.
  19. not even very good Coolies , for 9 weeks they are huge. Maybe I'm just used to seeing a well bred Coolie, but the head shape, ears and front ends are shocking. That rough Jack needs a good hand strip and to come to my house LOL He's gorgeous
  20. What has lead you to conclude that your dog poos when she's joyful Chewie? The fact that one of your dogs seems more willing to take a dump in public than others doesn't necessarily mean anything of the sort IMO. Maybe she's got a more active gut than the others. My Whippet will generally have a poo within 5 minutes of the start of a walk or as soon as he's out of the car after a trip. I honestly think he just needs to go, not that he gets a kick out of defecating in public. :D That's interesting PF, my girls will basically take two step out the trailer or car door and want to toilet. The same if they have been inside or in their crates. I don't think it's the highlight of their lives, they just need to go
  21. Mine spend too much time away from home , not to toilet on the lead. There is nothing worse then spending a weekend away with a dog that won't toilet. I don't let mine crap on the cement foot paths, but if they want to go, the first bit of grass they find in fine with me.
  22. I thought I read in the NSW journal that all clubs will have to offer at least class 18 and 18A after April next year. So we should be seeing it everywhere. Bathurst and District will be offering the class at the triple show in May.
