Powdered milk made up together with an egg yolk or two and a good splash of calcium sandoz or the troy syrup ( they are the same ). Give the above mixture first and then continue with the mix, less the eggs four times a day. You can add nutrigel to the mix as well. Fresh chicken wings if the bitch will eat them or necks, as many as she'll eat in a day. She needs to be fully hydrated and fed as much raw food as she'll eat. The raw is digested quicker than any commercial foods.

My above friend has had two litters in the last few months, 1 Whippet and 1 Beagle and I think has another due in a month or so for yet another breed. All up she owns about 7-8 breeds - I don't see a problem with it. 50 dogs???? :p It is an impossibility to ensure that all 50 dogs are given proper care and invidual attention. Yes, that does constitute a puppy miller! She is breeding as a means to earn herself a considerable income and that is a NO NO. It is a disgrace! Actually I've sent two of my dogs there. A much loved boy and a girl that was my pride and joy. I couldn;t be happier with the time and effort that goes into those dogs. The boy sleeps in the kennels, which is fine by me, that's where he was here. The girl, lives in the house and baby sits the smaller breeds. This lady is so far from a puppy farmer that it's not funny. Immaculate house, dogs kennels, acres of grass and care that is second to none. You should be very careful not to judge a breeder by their numbers.

Tick tock, tick tock . I've been watching the clock all day :p

I'm surprised at the number of owners who are bathing every week.

Dear dog, if they aren't excited enough to do a lap or their dog can't manage 15 more seconds around the ring, then perhaps they shouldn't be there.

Sit Or Stand First?
WreckitWhippet replied to parrotpea's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
As a new comer to the ring, I wouldn't teach sit at all. Unless you are seriously thinking about doing obedience in the future, there's no need to teach a pup to sit. When you are in the obedience class just replace the sits with stand or drop. -
Ohh he's special alright. I may need to post him along with a big whacking stick LOL Might go get the camera out, seeing as though there's only four out there and I can tell who is who

Hydrobath out the back. Hot and cold come from the laundry, straight to the bath.

Pretty much what we do here. They aren't allowed to fight and certainly aren't left to sort things out for themselves. I did let one bitch go this year. The youngest dog had been pushing the issue with the older one's, he was being a rude teenage dog. She'd had enough of him not buggering off when told to and he'd also been testing out how powerful the girls were during play. I'd watched him wrestling with her and she'd had enough and walked off, he persisted and she hammered him. It wasn't a fight and she had him on his back in a split second and itr was over and done with.

Staffygirl, you just don't get it.

Take the whole lot with a grain of salt. This is a real gem from the Jerk One could argue that the vast majority of dogs bred in this country are not bred by ANKC registered breeders.

I find the 73 bags of poo comment rather ironic. Do you think that was a message to those who think the litter laws don't apply to them and their dog. Much like no dogs on the beach.
-
They didn't carry it around all day on the beach. It was outside, not inside a building. You can't use that as a logical argument. Of course, she can. Scratching my head here. What's so hard about grasping the concept? The dog was on the beach. Even worse - the owner clogged up the court list with garbage. I'm convinced it's Barking Mad loonies. You're right Razzle, it smells like barking mad and their idiocy. If they aren't fully paid up members, they should think about joining.

Amstaffs, Breeding Away From Standards
WreckitWhippet replied to geo's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hahaha- Oh wait... I'm just guessing two weeks, going by it's development. It still looks like a slug, with it's eyes open and they look like that around the 2 weeks. -

Dumb Question On Neuter & Veterans
WreckitWhippet replied to Trisven13's topic in General Dog Discussion
I might be wrong but A veteran can be shown desexed in a sweepstakes or where they do not compete for challenge. Where the veterans are inlcuded in the CC line up, they have to be entire, as only entire dogs and bitches are eligable for points. He could be shown as a "neuter" , which is excluded from the CC line up ( now has a CC line up of their own, just to confuse things further ) or he could be entered in a neuter sweepstakes. ETA but apparently QLD likes to do their own thing :D which is a bit of a joke given they don't want to recognise neuter champs :D -
Return To Competition Of Bitches After Whelping
WreckitWhippet replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
Insane isn't it. -
One of the worst phone calls I've made in my life and I'm still crying this morning. I've buried little Shimi in the garden, next to Sarah Stafford. It's a special place for special dogs. I wasn't sure if Tiggy would say yes to Pea, but I'm glad she did. I've knocked back countless homes for him in the last few weeks and I'm so happy that he's going there. Run free my Squirty Dirty

Thinning Fur On Puppy's Head
WreckitWhippet replied to koalathebear's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The only time AB's are required for mange, is if it's a generalised outbreak that has resulted in a lot of scratching and secondary infection. You will probably find that he will have another outbreak after he's vaccinated. -
I don't have an issue with a bitch that protects her den and puppies and I will make allowances for hormones when they are in season. I've found they are usually fine if mated, it's when they don't get served and are going off, they have issue with the other girls. Hormone influenced behaviour is not just limited to the need to protect their pups, I've seen bitches act terribly frightened and skittish the few weeks before they have their first season. They can also get the sulks and withdraw into themselves.

Shimi is a little sad that her tug isn't making the trip west. Standing at the gate with her big brother Bradley The view from the other side, with Bradley & Pea

That massive shed with the drains and fluro lights will pass muster, it's the whelping box in the lounge, that belongs to the registered breeder who raises the puppies under foot, that won't. Kiss goodbye the ethical registered breeder, they are scarce enough as it is, pretty soon they will be a thing of the past.

Yes.

why mention it here at all ? I don't really get the point given you're not disclosing the location, you could simply go about your investigation of the place and reporting what you find to council. I cannot believe that you've reported someone to the RSPCA no less than 3 times in a year, without having seen the property or the animals first hand.
