I;ve said why I don't like them anymore. I can't stand the new levers and the fact they constantly need replacing. The clippers feel like they are no longer driving blades ( that includes my brand new pair ). Your blades feel blunt, when infact they have just been sharpened. It's not just me complaining as a groomer, but our customers who use them at home as well. I won't sell them in the shop anymore, it's not worth the customer complaints -

I think the lead issues on the Andis can be avoided somewhat, by making sure that the cords are not rolled up , when you hang your clippers up. Make sure your cords are loose and not twisted when you hang them. I've found the same with the wahls. -
Mine charges me a piddly consult fee anyway, I reckon I could probably take three to the vet, for the price that many pay for just one. It vary's from vet to vet.

Umm, mine are serviced on a regular basis. My blades are kept clean, oiled and sharp and when things pack it in, it is the equipment, not a lack of diligence on my part. -

Ok, so if I'm not a "main stream" groomer, then what am I ? What are the two others that I know who use osters ? -

" I show my dog, he's an Australian Champion and has beaten all the other dogs here " How do you stop yourself from falling on the ground in fits of laughter, when it's a cross bred -
I always enter mine for their age at specialty, even when I've run on litter mates

I reckon it's because our "osters" are still running well LOL when the others have long since crapped themselves. -
Yep, I used some for the last litter. It didn't last long before the rubber backing perished. It was very non-slip but I chucked it, as I got sick of the rubber coming off . The standard stuff is way better

Do you think it's bias ? or that some judges find them more difficult to judge ?

Basically if you have a few white hairs on a dog that is otherwise excellent, it will be forgiven. Start with a so-so pup ( not saying yours is/will be ) and it's got white on it, then you are pushing poo up a hill.
-
No it's not better to sit a puppy on a lap in the car. It's actually more stressfull, hot and does not encourage the pup to settle down and rest. I have not every seen a dog or puppy arrive from a flight having drooled or vomited.
-
A few white hairs are ok. Sometimes a few whites will disappear with age. A big obvious white spot, would really put you behind from the start, regarldess of the quality of the rest of the pup

Mince without the bone is not balanced in terms of the calcium/phosphorus. You are better off leaving it out for the time being and when they have their teeth, feed meat on the bone in the form of chicken necks and whicken wings
-
weebix is useless crap, you may as well feed them a piece of cardboard. A quality dry kibble soaked in some divetalac would be fine or if you are going to go raw, some minced chicken carcass.

I still use mine. Still going strong after 10+ years. I have Wahls as well. I'm regretting that I parted with mine. -

Unfortunately there is not a lot of choice on the market when it comes to clippers, as they all have their downside. Wahl KMs are good value at under $200, Andis AGC2 are good clippers but sell for around $300 and Oster A5 have an out dated design and not used by professional groomers in Australia. I have 4 pairs and I'm constantly replacing the levers. The crappy replacement levers are expensive and it's time consuming to stop what you are doing and replace them all the time. The Wahls aren't good value. I know of several who have now returned to using their good old Osters, having given up on the Wahls. They may get hot, but at least they are still driving blades and getting the blades through the coat. I wish I could say the same for Wahl It's worth spending the extra money on something other than a Wahl -

I wouldn't bother with the Wahl's. Since the lever style and replacement parts have changed. -
Put the puppy on the plane. Give Dogtainers in Canberra a call on 62549955 and book through them. I've flown countless pups over the years and the worst we;ve had is one that has soiled his bed, but he still arrived happy and bouncing at the other end.

Sorry for your loss. Rinse was one of my favourite dogs.
