  1. I thought it was already up and running, the details were published in one of the Journals last year.
  2. Black is the sure fire way to cook your dogs. Go and sit in a white car in a car yard and then a black one. You'll soon change your mind Stick to white, trailers are white for a reason.
  3. More likely that she's feeling insecure. Not sure where she's whelped but have a good look around. Shut the curtains, close doors around her, remove other dogs from the house or kennels next to hers, put a lid on the box and make it more cave like. If she's not had an calcium I;d be looking into that as well.
  4. I've always shown mine. I make sure I tell the people I'm gazebo-ing with that she's in and don't stick her in other exhibitors dogs faces.
  5. What , you're packing your bat and ball already and going off in a huff, as the some breeders won't swallow the pill as intended
  6. Wags I can see that you have totally ignored the views of experienced breeders expressed here. Of course you know better, know more than anyone else. Especially those old, stupid breeders who know nothing. Good luck to you. Not just "experienced" Lowenhart, but four of them who have made comments in this thread, I absolutely admire and consider they set the benchmark when it comes to breeding practices , welfare and producing quality dogs.
  7. Wags DogsQld cant even adhere to ANKC regulations, and yes I have proof. How the heck are dogslqd going to police this new accreditation system when they cant even look in their own back yard and do the right thing? What a joke. And they have the balls to go to bed with the RSPCA. Yeah I am pissed off. DogsQld members had the opportunity a few years ago to make changes to the way the council were voted in. Sadly I was very new to the country and wasnt up to the play with it. But unfortunately it was voted to keep the way the system is now. Clearly now a huge downfall for the pedigree breeders in Qld. I would suggest that you update your cynicism. We have a new GM and he has instigated more initiatives than just the accreditation scheme, and these have far outmode the rules regulations and principles of the other states. These include breeding principles in regard to line breeding as well as other things. I'm beginning to wonder whether interstate breeders are beginning to feel very threatened that their canine controls might just follow suit which would be no bad thing in my eyes. if only it were funny what you mean is they are pushing the RSPCA and PETA wheelbarrow. Lets' not forget that QLD paved the way for BSL and were they not the first to cave when it came to tail docking ? QLD , the state that will not recognise the "neuter title " , at a time when the majority of the other states are actively trying to encourage those with neuters to get out in the ring.
  8. ohh yeah "that" would have been a good word to pop inbetween the is & the wow that really is a huge cloud mass
  9. Dumb question, but is the size of the system
  10. why ? if one of my family went out and purchased a blue pup, they'd certainly be subject to what I thought. followed by not to bother to come to me when poo hits the fan, because they have been warned.
  11. Thats just the tip of the iceberg and the following should ring alarm bells too bred specifically for family pets the entire litter is on the main register blue to blue mating claim the pup is a pied when it's simply a black brindle with a white chest and possibly socks the non blue pups in a litter are heavily discounted (meaning they are sold closer to the going rate for an SBT pup) "carry the blue genes" "carry the blue pied gene" parents are in excess of 20kgs some 25kg's or more and it's promoted as a good thing "english staffy" blue makes a perfect show dog none of the pups are line bred and that's promoted as a plus when you can clearly see patches of hair missing in puppy pics (or any pics) when they can't spell "conformation" generations of blue big bitch with a massive head blue has a black nose when all they can talk about from a potential litter is the perfect colour they might produce when the majority of what they say about their adult dogs, consists of it's coat colour and "personality" "has an excellent pedigree" with not a CH, CD, ET or any other title to be seen big chunky bitch with a head like a boy
  12. It's a system that offers nothing to the potential puppy buyer , "accredited" means jack all, when the ranks of the accredited breeders include those breeding dilutes and dilute to dilute ( in my own breed ) and placing everything on the main register. Three and four litters at a time, with no regard as to the quality of the parents or the pups, prices triple and then some of what you'd pay for a quality puppy from an ethical breeder, who really cares about the future of the breed. But hey, they managed to get a vet reference and a couple of people to say their all good. It's a joke
  13. It's all pie in the sky wags and will go the same way as every other brain wave. All fine and dandy in theory , no policing and no one there to enforce the new rules. Those who have always done the right thing will continue to do so and pay the extra $$ or simply walk away when it gets too much . The BYBer's and puppy farmers will continue on their merry way. NSW ( as an example ) has had compulsary microchipping and life time rego for a decade now, yet it's rarely policed. What makes QLD think they have the answer and can do any better is beyond me.
  14. I break all the rules. Mine eat off my fork, sleep on the bed, lay around on the lounge, get presents, have parties, wear clothes, refer to ourselves and "mummy and daddy". I call them my babies, kiss and cuddle them. and couldn't give two shits what name people like to call it. I love them and they are all, happy and healthy.
  15. If the above advice fails, then I'd be looking for a fractured molar.
  16. I've had bitches that have mated for an extended period of time. I ultrasound them off the first mating and xray them from the first mating as well. The lack of development or them not showing distinctly on an xray, gives me a pretty good indication of when they are arriving.
  17. If that's an SBT I'll eat a hat there's a good chance of a lot of Greyhound in there
  18. It's amazing what you see from the inside. Working in some kennels is a real eye opener
  19. For those who are recommending kennels, have they ever been and looked at them ? Or have they just been shown the "executive suites " and stood at the gates looking down onto the patch of lawn ? For anyone considering boarding, go and have a look. Some kennels are not what you think , dogs stand in their little pen , day in day out and have the shit hosed out around them. You'd be very suprised to find that in some kennels, unless you pay extra $ per day, your dog never gets out. One kennel can house a couple of hundred, yet they have just one out door yard area, a couple of concret areas and a few indoor/outdoor runs. Tell me how they get through all of those dogs and provide them with even an hours exercise in peak season. Also ask where the barkers and the trouble makers go. One has a blacked out block of kennels. It houses about 20 dogs, it has thick walls and a thick door. The lights are turned out, they are essentially deprived of natural light for the duration of their stay. Call and book a time to go and visit and ask to see the facilities and where you dog will recieve it's daily exercise and ask to have a look in the kennel blocks. The quality kennels won't mind someone booking a time and will be happy to show you around, not just the "exec suites" and a grassed area that never gets used
  20. ohhh hell yeah. that was awesome I liked him before but now I LURVE him :p
  21. Vitamin K toxicity is not an issue with dogs. It's a fat soluable vitamin and no toxicity has been recorded. You can OD on the other 3 fat soluble vits but it takes massive dosages for it to happen.
