  1. If that's what it is intended to be, then that is what needs to be clearly stated.
  2. So the pounds are empty and there are no unwanted puppies, kittens or adults ? No cross breds etiher ?
  3. It's poorly written and emotive. Time to try writing it again.
  4. What if I don't want to desex my dog, my property ?
  5. Why am I suddenly hearing the theme from Rocky? :p Its because you always have a very informed side to these posts - people respect and more importantly LISTEN to you. ;) Oh stop it, my ribs are hurting.. No that ain't true, she just persists until they give in, sit down and no make no further comment
  6. I will try but you know how hard it can be to ignore stupid... Funnily enough, although I have never met you but from reading your posts, I often imagine what it would be like to put you and him in a room together, bring up the subject and observe :p Trust me, she'd win I'd put my money on the Poodlefan any day.
  7. Because I find it rude when people don't read the opening post and then go off on their own little irrelevant tangents. Yours are not only irrelevant, but uninteresting and kind of insulting. So sue me for getting cross about it. Are you saying you don't buy ethical products for your dogs because they don't care?? Or are you saying you don't buy ethical products at all because you don't think it makes a shred of difference? Yes and yes for me.
  8. Ohhh don't you just love that. I've had countless people come in wanting to clip GSD's, ACD's, GR's etc, the vet having said clipping will make them cooler. They have all been obese and the loss of 20 odd kg's wouldn;t have gone astray in some cases.
  9. I would have charged somewhere around $100, quite possibly $120 if the dog was heavy to handle, had to have frequent rests and didn't just stand there for me.
  10. You could have asked me to come and be the third shooter LOL
  11. That needs to be place on the front page of every newspaper in the country...
  12. Nope, no and no They get the same eggs I eat, meat from pet food supplier and I buy the best quality toys that I can find, regardless of where they come from and what they are made of.
  13. Gary Christou in March St Orange he does Tuesday evenings from 6.10 but you must book on 02 63612857 I've used him for the last 12 years, for the show dogs and have been very happy with him. I'm now using him for the Greyhounds and his work has been exceptional. He's a qualified chiro, can check a dog over for muscle injuries, laser and will let you know what you need to do rehab wise
  14. Ohhh so you couldn't resist him LOL I'm looking forward to lots and lots of pics
  15. Make that, why can't any dog compete against the mature champs ? If they are good enough they can. That's how it currently happens. The last boy and girl I titled, have shown ( like many others ) that it can be done, having titled and 13 and 14 months. Both of them had to beat CH's, GR Ch's, BIS and BISS winners to do it. It's time for exhibitors to take a good look at what is in their back yards, rather than complaining about why they can't title a dog or how they have to compete against older, mature dogs or CH's that could in reality be 12 months old and barely out of puppy themselves. Good on those who enjoy their achievements and the competition , rather than whinging about it.
  16. Not from me. I was kind of hoping you'd forget that I bred her and I could quielty slip out of the country
  17. If there are fleas on your dog, then you need to treat your yard, home and bedding in order to break the cycle. Wash your dog or give it a capstar to kill the fleas in it, then apply a flea treament that lasts a month such as Frontline. Flea bomb the house, wash all bedding. Spay outdoor areas with Malaban or similar and treat your gardens and lawn with lime.
  18. Like the others it's not a problem unless the dog risks harming itself. To me normal reactions would range from barely batting an eyelid to behaviours such as pacing, panting or being clingy. To me a phobia is an extreme reaction, it would go way beyond what's above and I've seen dogs break doors down, jump through windows, lay under beds pissing themselves and not eat for days. When it's displaying behaviours like that, then it's serious and a problem.
  19. Did you ask your vet what it would cost you to vaccinate, microchip, worm and desex possibly ten puppies ? If you don't believe in aborting them, the least you can do is make sure they are desexed before they leave your care and stop the cycle
  20. I see that "The Dogs" site has gone pink.
  21. Happens all the time Miranda. The one with the Dane's last year was a classic. She was advised to spey/abort , went to ground and a few weeks later up pops the litter for sale.
  22. I for one won't support BYBing and cross breeding, if people want advice for that, they can pay their vet.
