How And When Do Your Dogs Go To Bed?
WreckitWhippet replied to shyfig's topic in General Dog Discussion
The dogs that sleep in crates go to bed about 9ish and get up at 5.30-6. The last toilet stop is a couple of minutes before they are rugged and put to bed. Sessy does as Sessy pleases. She sleeps where she wants ( lounge, her bed, my bed ). She's usually asleep on the lounge by 7.30, gets kicked out for a toilet stop around 8.30 and then follows someone to bed most nights. -
I swear it wasn't there when I looked. I did think it rather odd that I couldn;t find one but I may have been looking for Sway as a the OP and obvioulsy missed it :D

Hate it with a passion Didn't breed just exhibited and will never own a traditionally docked breed that is not docked Can't stand the tails, so much so see above. I ask those who think it's cruel have they ever seen it done by someone who knows what they are doing (breeder).

1. Do you think it is a fun thing for the pet or a serious title for a good specimen of the breed? Showing should be enjoyable, however that doesn't mean the quality of the exhibits should be any less than those shown in the other breed classes. Neuter is not an excuse to step out with a god horrible dog or bitch. Whilst our show dogs are also our pets, I don't believe the neuter class is for "pet" quality. 2. Do you think the dog should be in peak condition or just an oldie who you think likes to show? Yep, the neuters should be in show condition. Fit, active, glowing and happy to be there. "Veterans" is for the old dogs, although some veterans can still match it with the youngsters in other classes 3. Will you be upset if you come up against Champions or Grand Champions? I was going to show one of my girls and would have been glad to have competition. She held her own at all breeds and specialites for quite a few years and it wouldn;t have worried me one bit. I can see that there will be the usual whinge fest from those who think CH's should be in a class of their own. I have shown a neutered dog before the title was introduced, it was a great way to get an outstanding specimen into the ring, who sadly was without his nuts.

What To Do When Council Or Police
WreckitWhippet replied to RottnBullies's topic in General Dog Discussion
If it's NSW, every council area falls under the CAA. I would personally call the cops if the dog is out and acting in an aggressive manner. I have done this when the ranger was not available and they acted very promptly and the issue was finally dealt with to my satisfaction. -

pffttt what are they on about. I feed him after I've walked the dogs for an hour, fed them, rugged and put them to bed. I'm sure I saw him this morning at some stage, between feeding, poo patrol and morning cuddles -
Google is your friend. Type in heated dog water bowl and there's plenty available. The only thing is, you may have to get one shipped from o/s also known as "thermo bowls"

I can't see how, using NSW for example where it's compulsary to microchip and lifetime register ( fines attached for getting caught with unregistered/chiiped dogs ), yet there are still those who choose to ignore the legislation. The same goes for being on leash , unless it's a designated leash free area and picking up after your dog. What makes you think that a piece of paper, will make a blind bit of difference ? when people cannot follow the very basics, when it comes to ownership.

As above...and yes you'll need a pink slip. I didn't this year with my Toledo... Why not? I have no freaking idea but it didn't require an inspection and the rego was renewed online without any worries. -

I really want to go but if I do I need to hide out and not upset Sessy and her handler. I'm really excited and have waited for ages for an American judge

Ford Territory Owners - What Are Your Cars Like?
WreckitWhippet replied to lappiemum's topic in General Dog Discussion
I just have just purchased one, after much searching and deliberation. Give me 12 months and I'll report back LOL -
I wouldn't reduce him and I've never reduced any of the pups I've had for sale. Start to teach him some basic commands like sit, drop and how to walk on a leash. House train him if you haven't already. I have always found that is huge plus when it comes to the slightly older puppy and new owners are willing to pay the same price.

Possibly the Whippet show on the Friday. Sessy will certainly be there with her handler

Whats The Best Medicated Dog Wash?
WreckitWhippet replied to Becs_Staffy's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Epi-sooth or Dermaleen. -
Change her over now and I'd also look at feeding all meat on the bone ( consumable bone, so no big shin bones etc ) Your beef mince is unlikely to contain bone
-
Yep, dual axle all the way. The dogs get a great ride.
