  1. I'm still at a loss ( correct me if I've read this wrong) but the fact that the dogs were used for hunting, should play no part in councils liability, as the amendment to the CAA, that saw "hunting dogs" automatically declared dangerous, was 12 months or more after Tyra's death. It was her death that lead to the amendemnt to the CAA. If council was found to be liable, for failing to act on complaints, then so be it. I guess that neither the Mother or the neighbour with the dogs had any money and they weren't worth pursuing.
  2. I wouldn't fear the council either. Just start the diary now and tell them if they arrive on the door step, that you believe it's vexatious. Show them your bark diary and explain that if your dogs do bark, they are reprimanded.
  3. Have another chat to the RE, tell them that you believe it's a vexatious complaint and ask them to tell the person who made the complaint to take it up with council. In the meantime, keep a bark diary of every bark you hear from your dogs, what you did about it and the dog noises from around the neighbourhood.
  4. It's a council issue not an RE one.
  5. I have to question any breeder that is willing to sell two pups to a novice owner. I've run on litter mates without issues but it is a lot of hard work, to give each pup your best and get the best out of them.
  6. I got quoted $2000 not last year but the one before
  7. Nup, not unless your prepared to seperate and possibly deal with world war three, when they mature. Most litter mates of most breeds will get along fine as youngsters but as adults they can be deadly
  8. What? Why on earth would you put your dog in that situation? What did you think the outcome would be? What would you have done if Jenna did turn around and nail the Lappie? Excuse me, but I didn't 'put my dog in that situation' - it is an incredibly big park and we stayed away from the dog, I turned around and then turned back and Jenna was over sniffing the other dog. And I would've gone over there and gotten her away from the Lappie. There were about 20 other people in the dog park, do you expect us all to leave from one dog? We just went about our business staying away from the dog. The woman shouldn't have brought the dog in in the first place. I understand where you are coming from but don't condemn ME because I wasn't even expecting Jenna to go near the dog... and yes yes 'expect the unexpected' - its happened now. Its over. jennas fine. next time someone comes into the dog park asking that sort of question I will leave. Oh and thanks for the good wishes for jenna  Common sense would have you say to the Lappie owner " if you think your dog is going to react aggressively, then perhaps the dog park is not the place for your dog " If they didn't get the hint, the any morsel of common sense left over, would have told you that the dog park is no longer a safe place for Jenna and that you as the owner, would make the decision to remove your dog from a situation that has could place her in danger.
  9. Me too me too but I reckon it's crossed with a Tibbie
  10. Go with the Advance... But Royal Canin is better than both of those
  11. Probably Quik Stop powder. I use potato flour, Condy's or corn flour. Whatever I can put my hands on first.
  12. Camping was great and it didn't even get frosty The doggie shopping was good, there was heaps to choose from
  13. It doesn't bother me and I can't say we've ever picked up anything from a show. I'd love to see some people mouth their dogs, that they barely can get to stack, let alone take both hands off to do it for the judge
  14. Totally agree Corvus. No matter what psychology/conditioning has resulted in this behaviour, this staffy x is an aggressive dog who should not be allowed off leash where there are other dogs. Perhaps it's not an aggressive dog. Perhaps this is the first time the dog has reacted in such a way to another dog. In general, SBT's and Husky's don't mix.
  15. I think that many people forget that dogs are " dogs ". The don't sit down and sort out their differences over a cup of tea, they don't meet others and then go off and think about if they like the other dog etc.
  16. I don't really know what your problem is but you seem to have the opinion that either by very big I mean kilometers, or maybe I just have horrible eye sight? I was wearing glasses. It isn't hard to see a dogs behavior across this oval. There was nobody in the way and I was watching the gate at the time. Also my friend was standing right nearby when it happened and confirmed what I saw. So that comments about "how could you see" aren't really necessary and if you think that the thread is bullshit then why are you even commenting? Must have been a very loud growl for you to hear it from the other side of the oval too.
  17. I'm not sure how anyone can make a judgement in this instance, based on the words of someone who was on the otherside of a very big oval.
  18. Dunno about the crates but friend is still rying to get her trolley fixed. It took ages to arrive last year, the wrong top was on it and the door started to tarnish up immediately.
  19. unfortunately I was on the other side of the massive oval at the time bit hard to tell what really went on from that distance ?
  20. If the dog looks in real life, like it does in pics, I'd not be worried at all.
  21. Stick to what your dog is currently on. If you were going to feed all dry, run a mile from SD. Have a read of the ingredients, it's garbage with a capital G
