At least council and authorities know where the puppy farm is, unlike the several that exist locally here and fly under the radar.

The Importance Of A Kennel's Name

I went through the parish names in Staffordshire -
I guess it was decided that they have the right to earn a living and that they could meet the current requirements for housing the animals.

Wandering Which Small Breed
WreckitWhippet replied to mumtoshelley's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'd say not to a Toy or a Pap, if you have a GR. The disparity in size alone, is enough to be an accident waiting to happen. You need a more robust and heavier breed to go along with the GR, especially if you want them to be able to play. -
tell that to my race dogs
-
Give it back and wipe your hands of them, it's better than having them decide they don't want to lose their deposit and take the pup anyway

You won't get any certificates for Res CC in NSW. There will be ribbons available to collect.
-
You are right Leanne, the vet should have picked it up. We picked up a murmer at the 8 week vacc and a 6 week vacc. I have to ask did the breeder supply the OP with a vet certificate stating that the puppy had been vet checked ?
-
Quite likely that you'll be dealing with allergies as well as the heart problem. Majority of blues are bred from dogs and bitches with poor conformation, so the OP may well be looking at a pup with poor conformation and some hip/elbow and patella issues to go along with that.

ohh let me guess... they purchased a blue

the scale is 1-6

Nice to know I'm not the only one who would keep him Anyone got any recommendations for a heart specialist in Melbourne? I'm in the West but I don't mind travelling if need be. I had no idea the pup had a murmur when I brought it. Then it becomes a consumer affairs issue, you are entitled to return the pup and get your money back. SBT's are supposed to be an active and robust dog. I have experienced HM's within the breed and the best thing to do for an SBT with a murmur, is PTS as a baby puppy.
-
Return the pup to the breeder and ask for a refund or cut your losses and PTS.
-
I'm not sure why you've paid for a puppy with such a defect. The breeder should have PTS the puppy and not sold the lifetime of problems to a puppy buyer. I would return the pup to the breeder and look for a healthy puppy from and ethical breeder, one that is going to provide your son with the 12 plus years of fun and love that he deserves.

Unfortunately some people don't have a sense of humour hey :p Unfortunately there are people out there, who would take that suggestion as good advice and set about desexing other peoples property.
-
Yep great idea, desex another persons property while they are away. The dog is not the OP's to do with as she please and if minding the dog is a problem, due to it being entire then perhaps a boarding kennel might be a better solution, for the next trip away. Owners have every right to keep their dogs and bitches entire, providing they are responsible.
-
are you treating the yard, gardens, bedding and house at the same time ? If not you are not breaking the cycle
-
I don;t see what the big deal is, regarding bitches in season, providing the owner keeps them in their own yard. Dogs that jumped my fence or came in looking for in bitches in season would be disposed of very quickly at my house.

I've gained a few more ideas of what else can go in mine.

What's Wrong With Horse?

Still school holidays isn't it -
I don;t get your way of thinking. If the area you live in is " high parvo, as you say, then the dogs immunity would be challenged due to living there. Once you vaccinate and the dog develops immunity, you can't give it additional immunity by injecting it every year. The dog either has it or it doesn't.

I'm pretty much like Tilly and have everything that I think I'll need to treat an accident or illness. It also doubles as our human first aid kit too.

Pedigree Dog Segment On The 7pm Project
WreckitWhippet replied to huski's topic in General Dog Discussion
perhaps I might not have a problem with it, if every vet could get a diagnosis correct and diagnosis was properly confirmed. The number of owners who have been told their dogs have HD, ED, luxating patella etc and there's found to be no cause for concern upon seeking a second opinion, instills no confidence in me. -

I wil ask my Vet about this. Last time I asked he was not on the system. nor was mine, however I will be requesting that none of my dogs information is entered. It's not a legal obligation for us or our vets to provide the info.
