  1. Rather than having a nice big gene pool of quality dogs and bitches, the breed has been reduced to some quality, along with the usual sub standard animals that you get in any breed and then there's the blues. These poor quality animals make up half or more of the pups that are produced ( that's just going off DOL and I'm sure there's a hell of a lot more out there ), it's getting more difficult to buy a quality Stafford, be it pet or show by the day. These money grabbing blue breeders have all but ruined the breed and it's reputation, with their mass production of dogs with poor type, temperament, structure and the myriad of problems associated with it. ETA: I saw a dog the other day that was going to be a "breeders" you bute new stud dog, hot off the plane he was. I got to have a good look at him and get my hands on him. He had inverted canines, a poor head ( that was being generous ) , lacked underjaw, was turned out in front, had straight stifles, a short tail, roached topline, light eyes, short in upper arm...... Of course he was registered and that is supposed to be the future of the breed. He was pet quality and not even a quality pet, let alone a stud prospect
  2. What I would really have liked to have said, is that blue Staffords are a dime a dozen, they cannot and do not conform to the breed standard and anyone who is considering breeding them, is starting behind the rest of the field ( a long long way behind ) The best advice I have for the OP is to desex the blue dog and go in search of a quality bitch, that is not a dilute. If they really want to contribute to the future of the breed, rather than plunder and destroy, then they would be welcomed with open arms.
  3. Poor Megz, she's getting a bit antzy Maybe today Megz
  4. If he doesn't drive, many of the boarding kennels collect dogs from their homes.
  5. I've sent the wrong ones to the wrong clubs and then had to call show sec's and apologise. Lucky they were friends and they agreed with each other to forward them on LOL
  6. Team Whelping Supplies is pleased to report back after tonights race meeting. We got a first with Mr T , second with Errol and second with Goldie Socks. Team Whelping Supplies was in the money and looking good
  7. I'm not sure that we'll have to worry about the Greens come the next election, they'll be gone... Two words for them " carbon Tax "
  8. Is that a joke or do you really think she should be charged with cruelty? I can't clearly understand the meaning of your sentence. spoilt lab lives here - who knows why we do anything? Because he wasn't chipped I could see people picking on that and I guess I don't feel like that happening today. Just wanted to tell someone but it's a bad idea to tell anyone on a public forum. Most people will understand but many will still pick at it. I'm surprised that the RSPCA didn't make the most of the opportunity, you know, charge first, ask questions later. Although in this case, they'd sadly already PTS your Mums cat. They are a great organisation for kicking people when they are down.
  9. Nahhh , it's good to see some more options available... I prefer to see more than one product in a thread, gives me more to choose from and I like to read buyers feedback.
  10. Yeah you should have shared... So much for all creatures great and small... Typical of the RSPCA I'm surprised they haven't come knocking on your mothers door and charged her with cruelty.
  11. Never had any problems feeding them to the Staffords, Greys or the Whippet. They make a good meal.
  12. My Sighthounds sure as hell love to chase things, that includes the Italian, the Whippets and the Greys.
  13. No, we need to know why they are being dumped and who is breeding them.
  14. what she says Dogs Vic is guidelines only for it's members, where they have council approval
  15. I tried it again and I still get the "Error" That went well. I have switched it off until I look at what is causing the error. You can trust me and Sway to make sure it works... or break it
  16. ohhh and we can now share the topics on facebook too. ETA: even after Pap said so, it took me a while to find the button
  17. My thoughts are, if you want one, then get one. There's no requirements on the amount of time you must spent mourning the loss of a dog, before you get another one. You never stop missing them.
  18. If you are heading towards Sydney for your trip away, I can recommend A1 K9 at Bargo. I've been there a few times and all of the dog have been out of the kennels and in the runs.
  19. Be very wary of places that offer "play time" "bush walks" and the like, that you pay extra for. At many places if you don't pay for these so called extra's, you could find your dog spent it's entire time in the kennels, standing in it's own pee and poo and having it hosed out around them daily. Go and inspect any kennels where you dog stays and ask to see the exercise yards, also ask how many dogs can be boarded at any one time and do the maths when it comes to the yards. A couple of hundred dogs and only a couple of exercise yards, doesn't add up
  20. Yep, they have missed perhaps the most important time in their lives with their mother, it's the time when she disciplines them and they interact with their litter mates. They will probably both have issue with bite inhibition and it's set to get a lot worse. Clyde is right and litter mates and especially litter sisters are not for the inexperienced. Let them out individually and work with them one at a time. When I raise a Stafford litter, I wear gumboots out into the puppy yard and give them nothing to grab a hold of or to encourage the biting. They are firmly reprimanded if they bite and the interaction with me ceases. They are handled calmly and quietly. I would seriously consider rehoming one now.
