Breeders and exhibitors around the world should be free to speak out, especially where things like PDE are concerned, they are only saying, what the kennel clubs are too gutless to do.
-
Pretty sad for the dog and kid, although the emotional black mail was not necessary.

Call them. Most breeders ( if not busy at the time ) will chat your ear off for hours.

Yep, two thumbs up. Most of the deserve a medal for the crap they have to put up with.

Does This Amount Of Food Seem Ok?
WreckitWhippet replied to Aztec Gold's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Times two I'd scrap the milk ( although veanavite is great, it's not necessary and use it every now and then as a treat ) get rid of the bread crumbs, you are just adding wheat to a dogs diet and it's not great for them Your black hawk sounds good as does proplan on it's own ( i'd pick one of those and stick with it ) , as does the sardines and cheese. Try giving the pup some chicken necks or wings for breakfast, or even a half a chicken frame, offer another bit of raw for lunch and use your dry at dinner time, alternating between adding sardines, egg, cheese etc. -
Nup, just make sure yu hold the rabbit with it's bum facing down and press on the bladder towards the tail and squeeze out any urine. Once you;ve emptied the bladder a hack job of gutting it will suffice

I wouldn;t be too worried about tresspass, I doubt there's any authority that's going to press charges for freeing a dog. ETA: Once free I certainly wouldn;t go removing the dog from the property.

Get the camera out, takes pics and then free the dog. Approach it calmly and make a makeshift muzzle using a soft dog lead. Muzzle it and then set about freeing the dog. It will probably take two people but if you can muzzle it, you'll be fine RSPCA are a waste of space.

I don;t vaccinate until 8 weeks, do it's 10 days plus after that, before they leave home.

If the OP wants to PM me, I'll happily give them my phone number and talk them through crate training an SBT.

I've had a Trek, it was a great little trailer, very light and did the job well. The only negative was that it was noisy when the tails banged on it and the door were quite sharp. We had to replace the bolts on the door locks, to a bigger smoother one, that didn't cut my fingers. Also the door edges were quite sharp underneath. I've had two custom made floats and they were both awesome. I now have a Toledo and I'm very happy with that. It rides well and hasn't given me any grief.

Free Gazebo Pet Themed Mats!

ahhhhh, well being half asleep I just kept in getting cranky at the other button -
One thing I'd like to ask, is was your breeder aware that you wanted to crate train and the pup would live in an apartment ? If so, they have really let you down as a new owner, by not beginning the crate training for you.

I help out with " breed specific ". I will assist to clean up after my own breeds, I am not going to help clean up after the puppy farmers and oodle breeders .

Your entry form says to include the area code but it just drops down the state choices and won't let you put in the post code. Not sure if it's meant to be doing that or not -
Pants For Bitch In Season
WreckitWhippet replied to The Spotted Devil's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ruddocks sanitary pants. They are about $10 - $15 and you can put whatever you like pad wise in them. -
vet now to make sure there is no blockage

Go for it, especially if the pup has had one vacc. The benefits of being out and about far outweigh the risk.

It's all good until the rain is torrential and the grounds turn to mud, at which point I put on the jeans and gumboots and hope to Dog I don't win the group I've got a few pics from last year of BIG's and friends have asked WTF I was wearing, as I wouldn;t be seen dead in the ring in jeans on a nice day ETA: I laughed at the official photographer at a triple show, who on the Sunday told me " don't worry about a pic today, we'll use the one's from Friday and Saturday "

Getting a female pup to show, won't be difficult. It's getting a " quality" female pup , that will be the challenge. It is in most cases easier to purchase a quality male.

When the pup screams at night, get up and take the poor bloody thing outside to the toilet. You might get up 10 times one night but it will become less frequent and eventually the pup will only wake you , when it needs to go. ETA: you don;t need fancy games, DVD's and a whole lot on nonsense to crate train a puppy. Just a bit of common sense and be prepared to get out of bed a lot in the first week or so.

Sorry but there are thousands of dog already in this country that need help. If she wants to bring that dog back as her own, then she should use her own money to do it. Get a bank loan and do it that way.

My method of crate training a SBT pup, is to put it in the crate ( after being out to the toilet ). If it squeals, ignore, when quiet and having settled or had a little sleep, take the pup out to the toilet and have a game etc. Do not over use the crate during the day, use it as a place of rest after play/training and free time in the yard. At night after the intial carry on ( I've found they settle very quickly ) , they are only taken out if the make a noise and wake for the toilet. Once they've been, it's back inside and back to bed, with no fuss. Winter is your best friend, as they soon learn that waking up means outside to the toilet in the cold. They quickly learn to put their heads up their bums and stay there from 10pm til someone gets them up at 6 in the morning.
