Some may recall I got Jasper , my toy poodle, just before Christmas. Had a few posts regarding settling in , being smelly and biting Charlie. Jasper now 8 months. And I am still waiting for his papers. I have emailed several times. The breeder told me they were attending to papers several weeks ago but still nothing. She is in Queensland. I'm not sure what to do next. I'm wondering if the info I had regarding parents is wrong. I've had him clipped and he's not going curly at all. His parents were silver but the only silver he has is on his face and legs. Now that he's been clipped he's very dark .. We have him now and love him.

I am having similar problems. Have had Jasper now since December. He is now nearly 8 mths. Charlie is 4 in August. Both toy poodles. Jasper very small but very rough. They take turns in chasing games buit Jasoer makes lots of growling noises and bites. Charlie puts up with this quite a bit until he may chase and bite and jasper rolls on his back. They run round and round the house up and down stairs until they flop down and go to sleep but I think jasper gets carried away. He sometime bites Charlie's long ears and Charlie yelps. If I try to stop them or clap my hands jasper knows he's in trouble but I can't catch him he runs under a table. If I get him I put him outside till he settles Tried smacking him but I think that makes him run away more.

Most woolworths and franklins sell bags of chicken necks

Not directly but you gave enough info for anyone to find out pretty easily. If you didn't mean to, maybe you should change the identifying info. I don't think that Charjas has crossed the line with mentioning the sire and dam as often knowing the bloodlines can help eg some colours are known to have poorer quality coats - she hasn't made any negative comments about a specific breeder she is just asking questions re: poodle care. I believe that the problem is that there is often a reluctance to make a comments because of the implications but unfortunately it is often why dog owners end up living with a dog with problems. While I now know more about breeders and issues since I bought my first poodle, I still struggled just recently when looking for a stud dog with regard to being really confident that I was getting the true picture. While it is fine for those in the know too many find out the hard way as for some breeders it is strictly a business - not a hobby or a passion. Ok sorry if I put the wrong info up but have removed it. I believe his parents were silver but he has quite a mix of colours. He has a very pretty light silvery face but darker ears . Lighter legs but dark feet. On his body he has patches that look almost brown with one dark patch on shoulders that looks like a cowlick. He's quite a mix of colours and textures although as he grows its getting more wavy. I don't think charlie got his curly coat until he was way over one. Ill look into some products for him but have never bathed charlie too often as I though it was bad for his skin.

thank you will ask my groomer this week and get her to smell them both before she washes them.

Unless his ears are grotty, I'd not bother. Does the groomer pluck his ears? Ditto with the frontline. Are you in a tick area and/or do you have a flea problem? If the answers are no, I'd not be doing that either The groomer does his ears but I also do them in between. As I live near the bush ( Menai area) the vet said to use frontline monthly which I have always done although never really found a flea on either.

I switched Charlie to the canine country from barf about 2 years ago and he's been fine. I'm sure it has no preservatives. Charlie has a very sensitive tummy. Chicken necks are still a tad too big for jasper so I chop a small amount and mix with canine country and dry food. Mind you when he arrived he was on pedigree puppy chicken and rice slop. His anal glands were done last visit when I got him desexed. And I haven't seen him drag his bum since. A mallet will solve that problem for you. Just put them in a plastic bag and bash them flat. :) Already desexed? How old was he? I got him at 5 months. He's 7 months now. Was desexed in January. Thanks for the tip re the mallet. Didn't think of that. I will do his ears again. Haven't found any fleas on him but when I got him he did have some scabs from being bitten. Maybe he's allergic to frontline plus.

Not really. Was getting Charlie done each month for $50. So to get two I was going to stretch it. I could bath him in between as he doesn't take long to dry. But she does a great job. If I was really smart I would get clippers. I'm not working atm. I'm a teacher applying for permanent jobs and have no casual work yet.

I didn't say where he came from. But after arrival by plane he was very stressed. he only weighed 1.8 kg. now he is 2.4. Hoping this is not too much weight in a short time. suspect he was in with lots of other puppies ang caught a few things. He leaps into the air to get attention and gulps his food down. Other than that he has a lovely nature although nips Charlie a bit.

I am still waiting for the papers. His coat is not sparse.

No hie ears don't smell much different to Charlie's. I clean them outa with that ears stuff each week. Mind you when I got him they had brown gunk in them and I don't think he had ever been washed and he had conjunctivitis

Hi. I've had jasper now since dec and had him groomed once. He's due again this week but I've noticed he's much more smelly than my other toy poodle. Charlie is 3 and has wooly coat. Jasper 7 months and still has slightly wavy coat but I notice more odour now whereas when I had only Charlie I never smelt a doggy smell. He's more active than Charlie so maybe he needs more washes. Also he still scratches a lot. Have changed his food to canine country raw white meat mixed with royal canin junior dry food and occasional chopped chicken necks. My husband keeps telling me he's not all poodle but the breeder only advertised toys and miniature. Any tips. I hate a doggy smelling house and have windows open constantly and lots of fragrance reeds around.

Hi. I walk them every afternoon although with the hot weather haven't walked since Friday. He has just started doing a poo on his walk as usually he just lays in the grass. When I got him he was on supermarket crap soft food and I have changed him now to royal canin junior dry food with some canine country white raw food mixed in. Charlie has chicken necks at night but these are too much for jasper even thought i chop them small as he eats too quickly and then brings them back up. They go outside into the yard. balcony leads to stairs and yard. He doesn't use dog door yet but Charlie won't go through unless I prop it open. Charlie is a bit of a woos. Dog door fell down once and touched him. Only made of plastic! I don't leave it propped open now because flies come in. When I go out I leave wee pads on floor Charlie never uses them though he hangs on.

Thanks. Yes both sleep in their crates in laundry but with door shut . I don't close door on their crates. Most mornings he has done a poo near door away from wee pads. He only uses them for wee. I have gates to keep them in kitchen area if I'm out. I think because he doesn't like to have me out of sight he hangs on as long as possible and if we are outside he goes but yesterday I left him out for a bit on balcony so he went there. he's not as smart as my other one. Bit of a ruffian actually.

Hi I have a new addition 6 months old. Have had him since dec 22. He does a wee on the wee pads and sometimes a poo. Other times I find a poo on tiles at front door. He has started going outside to toilet but I have to stand there. If I come back in after waiting ages he does it inside as he follows me. If he sees other poodle wee then he does one. Have tried moving wee pads closer to back door but he then squats in place where it was. Uses wee pads at night in laundry also. My other poodle (3) bangs on screen door to go out. This one a bit slow? Any suggestions.
