I presume that students aren't being forced to destress via puppy so I'm not sure why you're objecting. Objecting? Expressing an opinion isn't necessarily objecting. Opinion. It is bloody ridiculous that a puppy hugging station should seen as a necessary crutch for those who fail the the first test of life in the real world. Actually, before they even experience the real world. If they can't handle the stress of preparing for their future, what sort of a future do they have? ''Life wasn't meant to be easy".....Pall Bearer What's the next move if a puppy happens to bite one of these stressed future ''leaders''? The mind boggles. It doesn't say it's for people who can't handle the real world O_o Everyone gets stressed, it's a fact of life. I think teaching kids healthy coping mechanisms is better than not teaching them any, and haveing them go off and find their own ways of dealing with stress, with alcohol or drugs or cutting themselves, or self-medicating in any other way. If talking to someone, even if it is a dog, helps them, then how is that a bad thing?

Woohoo! I'm assuming that means #2 on the list -
Is anyone interested in maybe trying to get a Bayview catch-up organised? If not before Christmas, then maybe in the first week or two of January? Before Christmas would be great, but I know availablity at this time of year is pretty limited for people! Let me know what you think, or throw out some dates you might be free or not free. I'm not free this weekend (Sat/Sun Dec 1&2) or next weekend (Sat/Sun Dec 8&9) but am free Saturday Decembber 15th (but not the Sunday).

Puppy Sniffer - Santa's Little Helper Is Injured

Two words - vet wrap! I have vet wrap in funky colours, mostly purple, because I regularly need bandages for myself and plain ones are sooooo boring I use them over normal bandages to funk them up a bit! Aww you ruined my surprise for her. Oops, sorry! I'll delete my post, and you delete yours quoting me and she'll be none the wiser! -
Hilarious ... until I wake up with a sore neck because the pug has my pillow and I'm laying flat on the mattress without one

This was taken when I first got Boston and realised I had two velcro dogs on my hands (or, er, head!) Max's favourite sleeping spot: And if Boston is too late for the head, he's happy to wedge himself in this tiny spot as a consolation:

Where do your velcro dogs sleep? Mine either sleeps on my head, or if that's taken by velcro dog #2, sprawled across my back (I sleep on my tummy).

Because I have small dogs, sometimes when we do that dance, I literally pick them up and move them so I can get where I need to go

And learn to walk without lifting your feet too much so you don't step on them

Excellent, I might try and pin Max down to measure her and see what size she might need and order it for her!
-
Add pugs to that list! My two have the nicknames shadow and velcro for a reason  When they are asleep on the lounge at night, I hate getting up to go to the bathroom or something coz I know it will disturb them and they will get up and follow me.

Ok thanks! I'm closer to a woolies, so will have a look tomorrow when I do my shopping :) I wont start her off with too much as she does have a bit of weak stomach, well from veges she does How much would you have to give them daily to be effective? I sometimes have the flavoured Jalna ones :) I don't measure mine, they have been on yoghurt pretty much since they were on solids so they are able to tolerate it, but I think they get anywhere between one or two tablespoons each day. Depends on how awake I am when I'm dishing up brekkie  I don't have a photo on this computer I don't think, but my pugs love their yoghurt. They smoosh their faces in and come out after brekky with it everywhere - sometimes even their foreheads

Nope, my dog can't swim! She's a pug, she sinks like a stone. I haven't got her a life jacket before now because she was still growing, but now at 14 months she's basically full grown so I'm getting her one. We don't go on boats, but we do go to the beach and sometimes she tries to follow the bigger dogs out when they are chasing balls etc What are the best lift jackets for smallish dogs? I like the look of this one? http://waggle.com.au/ezydog-b2/standard-dog-floatation-vest-p85

I prefer Pauls, but Coles doesn't sell it so if I'm at Coles I get ... uh, the one in a roundish tub with a green lid, but if I'm at Woolies I get Pauls. (Jalna, just looked it up!)

Sorry for my short reply before, was on my phone. Can reply properly now! My pug had constant UTI's because her urine was extremely alkaline which allowed the bacteria to grow. She was on meds to increase the acidity for quite a long time, after diet changes and natural methods didn't help. She had a lot of crystals in her urine too, visible to the naked eye. There didn't seem to be any reason for the urine issues, and the pH of her urine got better after about 9 months and she doesn't need the meds anymore, but I put cranberry powder in with her food anyway, just a "it doesn't hurt" measure. Both my pugs also get natural yoghurt with their brekky, but thats coz its good bacteria in their gut, that doesn't help urinary issues at all. If you've never given it before, start it slowly as it can cause sloppy poops if you give too much.

A lot of them are taking between 3 and 4 weeks -
My pug had recurring uti's from when she was around 4 months old and I keep her on cranberry all the time. No inner health plus while on anti biotics, but natural yogurt is yummy and good for them but has nothing to do with uti's.

Awesome, thank you! Might take a drive out one day when I have some time (time ... ) to a place that has lots of nurserys so we can investigate and research. Sounds like a new project to keep the girlfriend out of trouble :D (Bet as soon we get rid of the pugs sandpit and fill it with water, they'll want to use it That's ok, it can be a Pug pool. They can feast on the tadpoles Hmmm, I already have one that's part frog!!!

When Max was a pup, she would chase and bite feet every single time someone walked somewhere. The only way to make her stop was to stop walking and make her sit constantly Sometimes a squirt of the water spray would work, but she loves water and that became a game to get me to squirt her so she could play with it. Eventually I found if I tied a toy on a long string to my clothes, she'd chase that instead! Now, at 14 months, she's mostly grown out of it and will only do it occasionally.
