Dougal buy off plan in Waterloo/ Zetland where I have...a dog loving area and pets allowed in most buildings as an expected norm...a great feeling! Off leash parks everywhere Pyrmont too. Pricey but pet friendly buildings!

Means anyone who is registered as a breeder not just registered with the CCs or the MDBA - in other words it means everyone including large scale commercial breeders. Effectively its a bullshit sentence that means nothing. Seems to be a common theme on their website!
-
What does this mean? Only registered breeders of pure breed pets and sub-registered breeders of mixed-breed pets should be licensed to have an entire pet on their premises.

I can't get my two pugs to use their cool mats. They happily sleep sprawled out next to them though
-
Nope, they seem to be selective!
-
I'm thinking they have consulted the groups they wish to speak for..
-
Crossed my mind, but I couldn't find any connection apart from them having the lovey dovey hearts. Plus, design wise they are too good to be hers!
-
And I've seen them get stuck "out" and the owner be unable to reel it back in, so they had to wind it around their hand to shorten it to get them home!
-
Which more likely came from a patient at the vet, not a resident animal...

Looks like you get three hearts for knowing your own name, address and phone number
-
Nothing wrong with that :D

There will be a few around there with established pets allowed rules, you just need to be patient and Maybe compromise on a few other things. You know, upper north shore grannies love their little lap dogs

Ah, that's a good idea! Why hadn't anyone in the thread suggested that one?
-
Then they come inside and pant and pant and pant and fall into the water bowl and pancake on the bathroom floor and look at me like "wtf did you let me lay in the sun for???"

I joined the flickr group too, luckily you can sign in with yahoo. Now I just have to figure out how to post a pic there

As a random (yet somewhat educated) person looking for a pedigree pet dog, I was 'taught' to be somewhat suspicious of a breeder who does not show, at least occasionally. Oddly enough, having their dogs winning doesn't come into the equation, it seems to merely be the attendance at shows that ticks the right boxes.

I mix up a raw mix about once a month for my pugs, I don't measure exact quantities though. It's usually beef mince based, with some lamb mince (for example, last night I bought 2kg of lamb mince and 3kg of beef mince, we'll probably use it all). I also add some sort of organ meat, this time I got liver (forget if its beef or lamb). I put some carrots and apples through the juicer to pulp them (maybe ... 6 apples or a few more depending on the size) and sometimes 500g of carrots and 2 or 3 zucchinis. I drink the apple juice myself, use a teeny bit of carrot juice to make the mix moist. Flaxseed powder goes in the mix, so does cranberry powder (as I have a pug prone to UTI's). I either chuck in a few tins of sardines in oil or some eggs with shells. I don't add grains or carbs or anything like that. It ends up looking something like this: Sometimes it has more meat less veggies, because it's not an exact science. They get it for brekky with yoghurt and sometimes a chicken foot or necks. Dinner is chicken carcass usually, or some sort of meat on a bone or edible bone. Thanks Minimax, that's just what I'm looking for. I also like the idea of making a large batch since I get lazy in the morning sometimes Do you freeze it in small containers/plastic bags and unfreeze it before serving it? Yep, we have a deep freezer primarily for dog food, so the raw mix gets frozen in individual brekky sized portions in zip-lock bags and taken out of the freezer each night to defrost.

Vicks vapour rub can also work as a deterrant, if you have a weirdo that loves citronella and citrus and every other man-made dog deterrant product on the planet like I do! Mine will only lick the vicks a few times before deciding it's not worth going any further, then walks around with super clear sinuses for the rest of the day

Ok, officially joining. I'll be photographing Max & Boston. I'm already doing a photo a day challenge (non doggy related), so sometimes I may double up and use that photo for this, or this photo for that!

Pet Insurance - Who's Good, What To Look For?
minimax replied to TigerJack's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I haven't had to do anything like that, but for certain claims (dental related being one of them) you have to send in your dogs entire medical history, which is okay if you have one vet - but a nightmare if you've seen multiple vets. However, I think That's pretty standard across all insurers. -
If you can't vent on DOL, where can you!
