Did you contact Dr Harry?

I use it for the pugs when they have an eye injury, or when they seem to be having issues with extra gunk etc. It can be used for general eye health, which is really what It's for. Always helps boost eye repair and helps them recovery from injury, especially if the eye has that blue tinge from a physical injury it helps with healing. I recommend it to anyone with eye issues, including dry eye.

Chicken Carcass Frames How To Feed?
minimax replied to julesluvscavs's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My pugs get half a chicken frame each for dinner, but they tend to be quite meaty. We cut them with normal scissors (which have become dedicated dog food scissors) as chicken bones are pretty easy to cut. Just make sure you cut the wishbone if It's still intact, as it can be one of the parts to cause issues if they don't chew it or break it properly because of the shape. -
Why use any of those, just take it outside regularly to get it trained if you want it to go to the bathroom outside. Otherwise you'll train it to go inside

How To Find A Dog-friendly Rental In Melbourne ?
minimax replied to LabsRock61a's topic in General Dog Discussion
Do you call the real estate during the week, prior to the inspection, and ask them to find out about the pet status? When I was looking for my place I mostly stuck to ones advertised as pet friendly (on realestate.com.au and domain.com.au), but if there was one I really liked and not specified as pet friendly, I'd call the agent and have them ask the owner so then if they said a flat-out no I wouldn't waste my time, but if they said they would consider it, I'd go prepared to the inspection. I'd have the application filled out, with all my supporting documents ready, so if I liked it and wanted to apply I'd hand it to the agent then and there. -

Boofer From B Hill (imp 24 )
minimax replied to ninahartland's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
I could give several scenarios as to two 4 week old pups might need to be fostered. Maybe the mother died? Maybe there were issues with the mother being agressive towards the pups? I'm pretty sure things happen outside of you seeing them ;) -

I still can't find anywhere in this thread where anyone said they would be removed at 4 weeks, it seems to be something you made up, so if there is any confusion it seems to be all your own doing! -

There you go, those screaming about getting pregnant bitches desexed, here is your opportunity. Which one of you is putting their hand up to help this one? -
For advantix my guys are right on the cusp - they are 10kg, but with a few too many treats one often ends up just over 10kg but I'm not going up to the next one just for a kg, so I still give the 4-10kg.

A generic would probably be okay, if it was from Australia. I usually wouldn't trust overseas medications.

Vibrating Collar Or E-collar For Deaf Dog
minimax replied to superminty's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
But if you were trained to associate the sensation with nice things, you might have a different perspective. Although an electric fence is a tad different to what is being talked about, since the OP did mention vibrating and not shock. -
Is this every state, and does it apply to non-race bred greys? I thought that was the case, but there is a grey in my local dog park that is always off-lead, muzzle-free with no special identification so I wondered if maybe it wasn't.

Rehoming Rescue Dogs - How To Enforce Desexing ?
minimax replied to brutus's topic in General Dog Discussion
I understand what they are trying to say, but they seem to be assuming the petshop bought female dog next door to the undesexed rehomed rescue male is desexed - whereas it might not be. Why risk it? You can't control what the general public do with their dogs, but you can control what you can control. -
Rehoming Rescue Dogs - How To Enforce Desexing ?

No, population control is dependent on the the number of reproducing females. Steralising males is practically irrelevent. That's true, because males have nothing to do with impregnation. Oh, wait.... -
Yes, this may be the only way, to keep a muzzle on when he is unsupervised. I'd still recommend plenty of chew items, but to stock him eating the lawnfood etc, a muzzle might be the only way. Or keep it out of his reach. He's only eating it because you let him have access to it. Its not that we "let him", things are put up high on shelving and he knocks the whole shelf over, the lawn food was under the house and the gate was left open becuase someone was mowing out front (all the lawn mower and what not are kept there) he dragged it out in a space of 5 minutes and just ate half of it... Sorry, I didn't mean it to be rude, but in a way it's true. You're the one with the logical brain, he's the dog who has a one track mind and will do whatever he can to eat everything, so you need to take control and do whatever you can to stop him. If he can knock shelves over, maybe you need to close the door to that room. If a gate is open while lawn mowing is being done, maybe he needs to be locked inside for a while, etc I know one of my pugs will eat the cardboard boxes in our storage room if he gets in there, so the door to that room stays closed. The other pug will eat my shoes, even if I put them on top of a table she will climb up onto the table to get them, and she can open my wardrobe, so we have baby gates blocking off rooms. For a larger dog who can probably just bounce over baby gates that solution probably isn't as simple, but conceptually - it might be.

No, I would think the mere fact that one is male and one is female would automatically go against the definition of "identical" I only put that comment there because the heading says they're identical. But it seems the OP has further information so perhaps you and I are wrong. I know sacs can fuse together becoming "one", which could be how you get un-identical twins.

Some times it takes time to get to know a person and not judge a book by its cover, or by what one perceives as its cover. One can learn a lot more by doing that than quickly judging. :) When I posted about trying to help Justice lose weight and gain muscle he was incredibly kind. He PM'd me with some advice and links and told me what to use to make up my own version of one of his products, because he genuinely wanted to help and wasn't trying to get me to buy from him. That doesn't sound at all like someone who's a twat to me. As I said, I'm glad he's different to what he was like publicly.

Pet Insurance - Who's Good, What To Look For?
minimax replied to TigerJack's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The excess is for each condition and each policy year. My dog has had two UTI's in the policy year and I have not had to pay the excess for the second one. Also had a friend make multiple claims for ongoing arthritis treatment, using a physio, hydrotherapy, natural vet supplements, etc and they only paid the excess for the condition at the start of the year. Every treatment, even from different providers for the whole year is not subject to the excess. For high cost petplan is very cost effective. For low cost you will get some coverage from other insurances, but only for standard vet treatment from a traditional vet. That's interesting, I've never read the policy that closely and assumed it was payable on every claim. Thanks for that! -
He sounds worse than my pug, and my pug will eat anything and everything. I know pica is more "common" than PW but isn't so much a need to eat everything in sight. Have you seen a vet for blood work, to see if he is missing any minerals or vitamins?

So how long does 440g of SuperBoost last? I thought for one moment it only lasted 5 days In my situation - I use the full 440g container of SuperBoost and add it to the 5.5 days' worth of veggie mix that I prepare. Yep - it lasts me only 5.5 days . To each veggie mix patty I've made (which includes 1/11th of the 440g SuperBoost - Mandela gets 2 x veggie patties per day, along with 2 x serves of 500g of roo mince, if not a bit more here and there). But if this gets me to help his system back on track and steady, then for the time being I'm prepared to keep this up for as long as I am able. Heaven knows, I've spent a fortune on him with loads of other things I've been trying in the past. What's a little more fortune? :D. Mind you, Phivo, the guy behind Augustine Approved+, has been immensely and sincerely helpful towards my efforts to see Mandela right. Which is good, because on DOL he was a right twat.
