  1. Surely no vet would recommended skipping the 3rd puppy vacc, even if the titre test shows immunity?
  2. I just finished mixing up a batch of food for the pugs, will probably last about 6 weeks (we have a chest freezer for dog food!). Beef mince (human stuff, from Coles. I find it much cheaper than any butcher and way cheaper than woolies), apple and carrot through the juicer (humans get the juice, pugs get the pulp), grated zucchini and pumpkin, sardines, liver, cranberry powder as one pug is prone to UTI's and it's easier than adding it each day. Bagged up and frozen in daily portions as well as chicken necks and frames and yoghurt. Bits of fruit and veg "fall" off the bench during human meal time prep as well. No grains etc as they do better without them, roughage comes from toilet rolls (lol) and other stuff.
  3. I raised one of my pugs on pee pads due to apartment living. I taught her to pee on command, which helped the transition to outside when we moved to a house with a yard. If he's not peeing at night, maybe he doesn't need to go? I would do the "no attention, no fun, lower value treat, back to bed in 2 minutes if no wee" for night time wees, otherwise it became a game!
  4. I'd ask for the actual piece of paper with the results from the lab. A yes/no result is what you want, but the official results will at least show if they sent it away to be tested, and if so to somewhere that knows what they are doing.
  5. Glad he's home, the pugs here send snorts and kisses and hope he gets comfy and feels better soon.
  6. THe OP has a Tibbie, which means Tibetan Spaniel, not American Bulldog...
  7. However breeding is defined by This is a questionable statement which can be interpreted as persons who intentionally breed animals for sale rather than someone who has a litter and re-homes the litter (by whatever means). That's how I interpret the statement however this may mean anyone who re-homes a litter. Did you pay for the dog? If so, it was for sale and you bought it. Intent is not mentioned, so you're imagining that one. What it doesn't say it that it only applies to breeders registered with DogsNSW. Can't copy and past from my phone, but Boronia already pasted the appropriate sections and they say "re-home", so regardless of you get the animal it's not open for interpretation if it goes from the breeders care to yours, even if money sprang changed hands.
  8. Read it then, it explains it. It's on one of the first pages.
  9. can you clarify this for me please dancingbc's, is it a law or a 'Code of Practice' ? If it is a code of practice are there fines for Mr Joe-Bloggs BYBer selling pups under 8 weeks? I had phoned the RSPCA and our local (in QLD) council to find out that very thing and it appeared to be a recommendation only, unless it was a pet shop ( http://kb.rspca.org....chased_311.html ) There appears to be no exact laws (that I can find easily) :) She said NSW. QLD may be different. Yep, I realise that Minimax but I can't find anything definitive in NSW either (this includes the RSPCA site) Try department of primary industries. It's the first result when I use Google.

  11. I would probably also avoid off lead dog parks with an 11 week old puppy...
  12. You'll find most pee pads already have a "pee here" scent in them, so you don't need to use anything additional.
  13. I use lightroom, downloaded presets when I'm feeling lazy and uncreative (which is most of the time  )
  14. Department of primary industry, and it applies to anyone who breeds.
  15. Very cute, and growing so quickly! You got him at 6 weeks?
  16. Do you still need to know? I think I have someone I can ask, just need to check the year of their car (it's either 2008 or 2009, but I think they are the same dimensions). edit: 2010 boot size http://m.mynrma.com.au/motoring/reviews/mazda-6-sedan-2010-child-restraint-fitting-guide.htm I know it's not the 2009, but it's a guide (also a good idea of something to google, as it's a child restrain fitting guide) Load Space Boot length (Across the centre) 111 Boot width (Across the middle) 115 Boot height Under sun shade cover (5-door vehicles) 53 Boot lip height Under cover (if fitted) 21
  17. My pugs get chicken frames, supervised, each night for dinner. You will always find someone to tell you a horror story about a dog choking on a bone, just like you'll find someone to tell you a horror story about anything. But with some common sense you can go a hundred lifetimes and not have an issue with bones.
  18. We can't watch certain shows that have nature type noises as it sends the pugs into a barking frenzy, but one of them really has a loud opinion on women with a certain haircut. Only on TV, not in person, but whenever one comes on the screen with brown hair in a short bob style, he goes nuts  They also run to the front door when a doorbell rings on tv, or an elevator dings. We don't have a doorbell so I'm not sure where they picked up this bizzare habit
  19. Is this the dog the breeder sold to you on limited register? If so, I'm assuming you never told them you intended to show therefore they did not give you a show prospect pup? Has he been changed to mains now?
  20. I've had a similar thing when one of my pugs was playing with an Aussie shep pup in the park, and when the owner came over I said "she's a gorgeous Aussie, what's her name?" and she started to say "no she's an Aus..." and then stopped, realising what I said, and was embarrassed because she was so used to explaining that she wasn't a random cross of whatever that it was automatic, and she was surprised that I knew. But there are actually several Aussie's at my dog park now anyway so it's not as much of an issue for them
  21. Wait till the dog starts peeing on the grass and killing it, they'll be thrilled
  22. I had a heart beat toy, similar to a snuggle puppy but smaller, and even I couldn't get the damm batteries out so I'd love to see a puppy do it
  23. I'm at work so can't see pics, but if the vet has no ideas I'd be seeking a second (third, fourth, fifth...) opinion from another vet, especially if it happened so quickly.
  24. My mum has a statue on her balcony that Boston used to hate - he'd bark at it and give it a few meters space if he had to walk past it, but lately he's getting better. Last week he peed on it, which I think was a "screw you, statue" gesture  Buuuut then the other day he sniffed it, and because it smelt like him ... he wagged his tail a little bit, trotted off and didn't bark at it the whole time we were there, and didn't avoid it! I laughed and laughed and laughed, because the silly puppy accidentally made friends with the statue
  25. My guys don't get food treats as a standard entertainment thing, they get a kong when I leave for work, but standard "treat" is a nylabone, antler or old bone that's had the beejeezus sucked out of it that they still love to pieces. I have pugs so they would eat all day every day if I let them.
