+1 for plastic bottles with food in them. Although my guys will spend hours pouncing on an empty bottle and being amused when it flies across the room, so it doesn't take much

Surrendering Found Dog To Rescue Rather Than Pound?
minimax replied to Pailin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Interesting link, nowhere does it say the animal must be taken to the pound, only that you have to notify the council that you found an animal, and can take it to the pound. I wonder if that's just lazy wording, or if like some other councils you are able to keep it as long as the council know where it is if the owners call/come looking for it. Prob best to call the council and ask, either way. -
Both my pugs would bark their little heads off whilst covering the stranger in licks and kisses, then run and get a toy so the stranger/murderer/burgler could play with them

Yes I would have thought it was a reasonable question too Sheena. On this forum it seems to depend on who asks it though :) Seen other - milder - claims on other threads receive very aggressive demands for all sorts of documented "proof". Not sure who cut off your fingers, but I do my own research so I'm not sure why you can't do yours. In the time you've spent here bitching about people not giving you proof, you could have researched Minimax you obviously have a problem - lets just leave it there. lol you're the one demanding proof and having a tanty when people don't hand it to you :p

Could A Breeder Successfully Sue For This ?
minimax replied to Christina's topic in General Dog Discussion
Its not breaking the law of the land its breaking Dogs Victoria rules. My question relates to whether the intent of breeding from a dog sold with clear indication of not for breeding could actually be challenged in a court if the breeder should choose to try & do so. In theory. This is the part that seems to be confusing everyone. The breeder doesn't own the dog anymore, it has no say in what happens to it. -
That's interesting. I got this off the Bayer site. " Can a reduction in efficacy be observed in dogs treated with advantix which swim frequently? To evaluate this, studies were carried out which provided for complete immersion of the dog in water for 60 seconds at weekly intervals. advantix is distributed over the body surface and remains in the lipid stratum which has hydrophobic properties; like all products of this type it is subject to the impact that the duration of baths has on the animal's skin. Lengthy and frequent baths involve increased cutaneous exchange with greater dilution of the lipid stratum and a consequent reduction in the concentration of product present in this stratum. The product remains efficacious even if the animal takes a bath. However, in the case of prolonged and frequent exposure to water, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment more than once a month, up to a maximum of once a week." from here : http://www.animalhealth.bayer.com/4869.0.html Look, I like Advantix and I use it and sell it. Im pretty sure you, Nowstarin are the rep for my area (correct me if im wrong). When you visit us next, maybe you can go over this again with us and tell us why it says on the Bayer site that you may need to reapply if your dog swims a lot (this is Coffs, dogs DO swim a lot here) If that is in fact the case I wish people would disclose that before posting in threads like this. I also would like some evidence that generics are dangerous and produced in dodgy locations as my family - like many others - take generic medications. You're unable to research yourself? And you don't research before taking something yourself? That's a bit daft. On second thoughts - this is too childish to respond to. Quite happy to be childish if that's what you call taking responsibility for what I put into my (and my dogs) bodies by learning about it first :)

Also, it says MAY, not DEFINITELY. Which nicely covers their ass for the potential one in a trillion time someone might need to use it more often for prolonged baths or swimming ;)

Need Ideas For Keeping My Girl Warm
minimax replied to Little Gifts's topic in General Dog Discussion
+1 on these. I use them for the pugs because they are really safe when they decide to play with them. -
Patented....but just like our personal medications are available in generic brands & things like Roundup is available in generic "glysophate". The patents by the drug companies only last, for I dont know how many years, then it is available to anyone. How many times have you picked up a prescription & been asked, do you want the generic brand? And some drugs aren't available in the generic because the patent hasn't expired yet, so maybe the patent on those is still valid, so no one else can make them? A bit of googling shows that some Bayer patents run out in 2020, some in 2015.

Is it patented, or copyrighted? Or whatever the word is for medications that own the rights to the thing. I'm having a brain fart

Durability of dog crates depend on how destructive your dogs are! I wouldn't risk it if they've destroyed one, just got a wire crate. Firstly he now knows he CAN destroy it so will probably try again, and secondly since the dog lays in it, not on it, the comfort level is driven by what you put in it, not what it's made of.

http://www.stayz.com.au/pet-friendly-accommodation is really the best place to look. Just make sure you read if dogs are allowed inside, as not all are.
-
My workplace doesn't "allow" dogs as such, but there is also nothing written that says they aren't allowed - so, I won on a technicality I work for a state government department, but in a quiet warehouse/office type environment. They half-heartedly tried the "safety hazard" tactic, but everyone loved having a puppy in the office too much so they didn't push it. Having her here turned big grumpy big men into little marshmallows, rolling around the floor playing with her, and I think managers could see it was having a positive effect on people.

I love having black dogs :D

What about a human mattress? Or a human foam mattress cut down to size? Probably much cheaper than a special dog one, but made out of the same thing.

Our rental has a "sunroom" which is a room inbetween the lounge room and kitchen, the floor is lino and it's got access to the backyard, so it became the "dog room". If we owned the house I would do it properly and awesomely decorate it for them, but for now it's just baby gated off from the rest off the house (they only get locked in there when we are out). There is an old desk which holds all their stuff, and some shelves. Under the desk is Bostons man cave, with his crate and beanbag bed, although Max is most often found asleep in his crate and his moves his beanbag bed out to other places lol The kitchen has also become part of the dog room, slowly and gradually and under the kitchen bench is Max's girlcave, which Boston has taken over as his Mancave too
-
I'm thing I'm not finding in Max's crate very often lately is her bedding. She's taken a liking to dragging it out and playing with it, or eating it, or sleeping on it somewhere else. This morning she ran through the house with it, and I found her brekky bowl still in the crate, so she was practicing her magic tricks, much like when they pull the table cloth off the table and the plates stay there - she had pulled her vetbed out and left the bowl there in place  The purple fluff in the poop is always a giveaway as to what she's been doing.

Google searches are customised to your browsing habits ... so maybe for Juice to get lots of X rated sites, it just customised it to her browsing habits *cough*

Oddly enough my pugs don't hide usually things in their beds, but one of them does hide things in his sisters bed - sort of a "wasn't me, she stole it!" attempt  Even then it's usually green toys (only green, no other colour!), old bones, toilet rolls, rocks, leaves or other little treasures from the garden.
