I know some species that maybe should rest 2 days between sex. Why doesn't someone ask if offal is considered the same as organs before people get too excited? Can you imagine someone getting fined for feeding liver treats? I'm sure that sounds absurd even to animal rights activists and is not the intention at all. If it was challenged in court that would be the end of that. By definition, isn't offal and organs one and the same?

What next, banning raw food for fear of bacteria?

Vets aren't just charging for the physical vaccine, but for the consult, rent, their experience, etc

Funnily enough tonight the other pug who doesn't normally randomly express decided to leak on OH's lap, then turned around and gave her this 'wtf did you do to make that smell' look

Always good to stock up on heartworm and flea stuff in advance, best prices are usually online and not from the vet. Places like budgetpetproducts.com.au or ovedshorseandpetstore.com.au tend to be the cheapest, but see what brands your breeder recommends/uses.

I worry about highlighting rare. That's where you can start to get the "rare" brindle pugs and rare colours that don't exist in breeds. Just excluding people from calling blue rare would probably be enough

This, times a billion. The son (apparently ) made no effort to help someone in trouble, He shouldnt be complaining about others not helping either. Getting down 15 floors takes time. I don't see anywhere in the article where it says the son never tried to help? I understand the son being upset. His Dad was mauled by a pack of dogs and then, no doubt, he had to deal with a pack of journalists. I am terrified of most bull breeds, so I don't think I could help even if I wanted to. However, I would call the ploice and get into my car and try to drive up to them and scare them off. Poor man. In other articles I read the dogs were on leash but got away? Nearby security guard and witnesses helped the man, not the son. Even taking the stairs it doesn't take 15 minutes to get to the ground floor.

Puppies normally tell you when they no longer need lunch, Maybe she's telling you now?

Yep, something that removes all words "rare " from blue listings would be good! Unless It's "rare because the last hundred generations arent all blue"

Can you point that part out please? I'm still failing to see it.

Excellent! Do you know how they found him? (and if the "rescue" who rehomed him feel remotely bad for the situation now?)

That first photo is awesome! I have the one with the pocket too, but my guys never figured out what it was for. My youngest pug assumes it's for hiding his bones and toys in

See, I think this is the main point people might be missing. The proposed changes don't seem designed to conspire to exclude any breeds or anyone for not doing a particular sport or activity, they seem designed to weed out the dodgy people in the best way Troy knows how. I see Troy saying a lot that he wants more info from those knowledgeable in their breeds to help the puppy buyer, and to a large majority of puppy buyers those showing symbols won't mean much. To a few they might, and perhaps some will see them as a status symbol, or lack of, and maybe that's why people are getting up in arms?

Yay, well done Oscar. No more now, ok dude?

Yes, he was desexed at 6 months. He came from a reputable breeder who was preparing him for the show ring, so he's not as unruly as I've probably given the impression of. lol ok, that's good. It will probably be a lot of time and patience (and food). Pugs learn through food, but don't be surprised if he chooses not to do things when it doesn't suit him. I have two pugs, so I know what they are like ;) However, getting a professional could help, I'll second the recommendation for Steve from K9Pro http://www.k9pro.com.au

They run them in a few different locations, check out their website http://www.doglogic.com.au/

Watch Out For Ticks At The Moment!
minimax replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
I always think I'm being over-protective by keeping my fortnightly advantix all year round, especially as we aren't in a HIGH HIGH tick area, but just a 'normal' tick area. But it's not something I'd take a chance with. -
Half the battle is training the kids along with the dog, because kids squeal and make loud noises when puppies jump up, which encourages the puppy. The way I trained my puppy to not jump up on kids was to find some kids to help by doing what we did - asking pup to sit before getting attention, not reacting when pup jumped up, etc, but maybe someone can offer a more practical way if you don't have access to willing kids  You have to teach pup that kids aren't exciting, which is hard because kids ARE exciting purely through their natural reactions. In the meantime - leash puppy around the people she's jumping up on.

You're a Sydney-sider, try DogLogic preschool, they are pretty good.

Juice if you read it they weren't my dogs. Someone deliberately let the dogs out. Sadly they were told they can't have a lock on their gate as it needed to be left available for services to get in and out such as meter readings. THey have now been told the correct info but they have just moved into this house and sadly lost a very much loved member of their family. Thanks for your imput. Hope it never happens to a furbaby in your family. How do you know they were deliberately let out?

I wonder if, in the middle of the night, you'll hear all the doors in the house slamming coz he wants a treat lol
