  1. Aww well done Ammo! What are the critera for canine blood donors, you mention 25kg and over, are there any others?
  2. This could be read as that you are not allowed to feed natural diet. And if your vet is not pro raw you are screwed. So if they tell you to feed 3 cups of dried food and your dog puts on weight you cant really limit the food, right? And it will only be changed when you get your 6monthly inspection from the vet? I might be wrong, there was so much of it that Ive now forgotten some of the completly rediculous things in there. And yeah - I must have my carpets shampooed every 6 months if my dogs come inside. The argument could be made that dry food isn't canine appropriate - if you define canine appropriate as how dogs are "designed" to eat (and I doubt anyone can argue they were designed to eat processed dry pellets lol)
  3. Why do you have to wait so long? There are heaps on ebay that ship quickly, and aren't expensive.
  4. Honestly, I'd not do anything that was drawing attention to the area, even negative attention. When my pups were babies and had accidents, I put them out of sight before I cleaned up so they didn't see me and therefor got no attention, even secondary attention, from their actions of toileting inside. Then I'd vinegar and play with them in another area until it dried and they forgot (yay for teeny pug attention spans!) and chances are they never went back to the same spot because they didn't get a benefit from it, as opposed to the party they got for going in the correct spot.
  5. Haven't heard of that one. I thought the idea was to eliminate the smell rather than provide one...I know 'stop chew' is a nasty smelling/tasting deterrent. I hope they didn't sell you that! It is definitely a spray to deter toileting in places where it is undesired. The spray bottle says to spray the surfaces every 12 hours until habits are broken .... so been doing that, but I think the best solution is going to be barricading the area off so that he simply can't get in there! Inconvenient for me, but rather that than having to clean up  I saw the Stop Chew stuff .... he's not doing any chewing of much stuff yet .... and being Maltese his mouth is too small to do much damage (yet) and he still doesn't have all his teeth through anyway! Perhaps a different story in a couple of weeks??? I use vicks vapour rub for non-chew stuff (only have to use it on my door frames, and sometimes he gets desperate enough to have a munch anyway but not for long  )
  6. Hmm, now that's interesting. I've been watching this thread as both my guys have one itchy part, and despite multiple treatments from the vet and change in seasons, nothing has helped. They are fed raw and I add flaxseed powder. I'm due to make up a new raw mix this weekend I'm going to try without flaxseed just for a test, because it crossed my mind that it might be a sensitivity to something they were eating but the flaxseed hadn't occurred to me.
  7. My Max had one of those too, it terrified her and she set her life mission to hunt it down and get revenge on it
  8. Vinegar is much much cheaper.
  9. Me either. I'll never forget the lovely atmosphere in the DOL waiting room, with the muffins and hot chocolate. I'll never lose the image of the dogs huddled under Jed's bed. Heartbreaking And I'll always have the most immense respect for Jed. (and keep giving torches and sometimes smoke alarms in secret Santa packages) Three years. Lovely to see puppies keep happening and life is going on :) Best wishes to your family and friends too Jed, they were pretty cool to a bunch of mad dog people in cyberspace! Ohhh is that why! I saw references to that in the secret santa thread, but didn't know the background.
  10. Only stopped pro biotic last week cause I ran out, didn't think that would affect the skin issue.... Tried some dermaid cream on the spots today seems to have eased it off a bit and taken out some of the redness. Any recommendations on anti fungal cream? I use canesten anti-fungal cream on my pups
  11. Do the general public not understand the difference between being responsible for an illness, and providing appropriate vet care? That screencapped post from Kat whoever insinuates that Lola is innocent because she isn't responsible for the dogs arthritis, but that's not the charge. The charge is not providing adequate medical care, and I'm slightly worried that some people don't think there is anything wrong with not providing adequate medical care for a sick or injured animal?
  12. Oh I saw this on the tv when I was at the gym, it didn't have any sound on though so I didn't realise the extent of the story.
  13. Fruits, small bits of cheese, chicken or other meats, or small bits of their dinner (as in, they earn their dinner through training).
  14. Oh I know, and it's intended to be the trashy type of controversy. It actually used to be better and have more funny "adult" topics, but then they switched hosts to some random non-celebrity and it just went stupid and trashy. Stupid and trashy ...... unfortunately the vast majority of television seems to be that. Yep, but it must appeal to the masses sadly enough, or else they wouldn't keep making it. Who out there is watching this trash - stop it people  Force them to make us decent stuff to watch!
  15. That review is totally weird, and I'd be questioning his opinions of a lot of those fillers and ingredients! http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/showproduct.php?product=1031&cat=all The dogfoodanalysis has a review date of 2007. Whereas dogfoodadvisor is 2012! Besides, one uses the adult formula and the other uses the small puppy formula. Not quite apple-to-apple. They still use the same fillers, which is the bulk of the food.

  17. Never heard of Kirkland brand before but a quick review tells me thsi is good stuff! http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/kirkland-signature-dog-food/ I'll be interested to grab one. Especially from Costco where you buy things really cheaply in bulk (how can it not be bulk for a Labrador?!) 18. My OH wants my next car to be a Jeep just so she can say "She bought a Jeep!"
  19. Keeping in mind the show is designed to be controversial, hence the name.
  20. Logic has no place in advertising :p
  21. What reaction does the kelpie have to advantix? I use advantix, frontline is basically useless.
  22. The normal one (ie; non grain free) looks horrid, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole (personal opinion, YMMV).
  23. Is this for a new category in the ring?
