  1. Nah he just put on his superman cape and ran in to save the day.
  2. That's the expensive commercial version of what vinegar does ;)
  3. I love how everyone replies saying Lola appreciates what Mark does ... has she ever said that?
  4. He will just play the victim, but it will be interesting to see if his cult members then gang up on Moorook, blaming them and harassing them the way they have shown to with others and say poor Mark, or if they are really there for the best interests of Moorook.
  5. I've never had a bleaching issue, I use vinegar mixed with water in a spray bottle. You can get expensive commercial ones that do the same thing.
  6. Has MA noticed/said anything yet on the website thing? Or has Moorook actually addressed it outright?
  7. Carpet cleaner won't remove the scent of pee, you need something like vinegar to neutralize it.
  8. My dogs aren't left outside unsupervised, I live on a corner block and regularly find all sorts of things thrown over my fence, most commonly cigarette butts. Dogs don't "need" outdoor unsupervised time, they need what's best for them considering your environment and lifestyle.
  9. Love it! But it would be more effective if it looked less like a generic error message.
  10. Ah, true. But hopefully MA will still get the hint, or Moorook will realise it's time to formally remove him from all dealings.
  11. Well done. Don't piss off the people who have control over things like your website!
  12. Training a puppy to be alone is very important, but there is more to crate training than just popping him in and shutting the door. Whether crated or penned, pups are fine alone :)
  13. Agree. To a degree, as long as they don't change their mind back just as easily.
  14. Their profits must have been affected, that would be one of the only things to really encourage them to change their mind.
  15. I thought they were pro-BSL originally?
  16. I used to have a loft bed, it was 6 feet up in the air, so no puppies in the bed. Max slept in her crate for ages and that worked really well, but then winter came and I felt bad (plus she was a REALLY early riser 4am, or 4.30am) so I switched to camping out in the spare room and chucked her on the bed with me. All of a sudden she slept later, and I got more sleep, and I realised my insistence on her sleeping in a crate was just dumb, and what all the puppy books said should happen. But I was suffering due to it, and she wasn't happy. So I bought a new bed, and when I got pup #2 he was on the bed immediately and we all live happily ever after :D However, I do have small dogs and I'm the only human in my bed, so it's different to having big dogs or two people in the bed. Plus at least one pug usually sleeps on my head, so that saves space :p Max is 19 months now (puppy in the picture above, snoring her little heart out on my head), and Boston is 14 months. Er, wait. If Boston is 14 months Max must be older. There is 6 months between them. My maths sucks lol
  17. Pups fly all the time, it's really common these days. My pup flew from Melbourne to Sydney, but she was in a crate with her brother and I was pleased she wasn't alone. But she was fine, came out of the crate ready for cuddles, gnawed on my finger and acted like nothing ever happened. She did have a towel with her from the breeder, so she had familiar smells, but there were no pees or poops in the crate.
  18. It's a slippery slope :p Soon you'll be fighting for a piece of your own pillow  (like me this morning)
  19. Then, if you're like me, you go and buy a bigger bed so both puppies fit comfortably when you started out with a no puppies on the bed rule
  20. You beat me to it, I was going to say the only thing worse than having MA attack you was having him on your side!
  21. Articles I found, but can't link to as most of them were subscription only, seemed to show if you had high cholesterol to start with then eggs weren't a great idea, but if it wasn't high then eggs alone wouldn't make it high.
  22. That's actually a myth about eggs being a problem with Cholesterol. Myth: People with high cholesterol should not eat eggs. Fact: Eggs are not the enemy; they are packed with heart-friendly vitamins. Remember the 1980s when we started madly whipping up eggwhite omelettes because we were told yolks were bad for our cholesterol levels. As a result, many an egg yolk ended up down the sink. However, research in more recent decades suggests this was a waste of food. Investigators from the University of Surrey published their findings on the subject in a British Heart Foundation nutrition bulletin in 2009. They examined the results of several different studies on eggs and nutrition, coming up with the conclusion that the humble egg did not "contribute significantly" to a person's cholesterol levels. Source: http://www.australia...ld-not-eat-eggs Interesting, he cut out eggs and his cholesterol went down? Doesn't "contribute significantly" means still contributes, so really if you have high cholesterol you are advised to avoid anything that can contribute to raising it, whether it has a significante affect or minor effect, and focus on things that lower it. So really, that article confirms that eggs contribute to raising cholesterol
  23. An expose? Like the one on Today Tonight? Can't wait!
  24. Because pugs aren't known for sleeping most of the day, regardless of how many people are home or not  I dated a guy who had a pug as the solo dog and he worked full time, she seemed content to me. She had a doggy door to the balcony (he lived on a first floor unit) and when we came home we'd see this blob sunning herself on her back on the balcony. She went to footy games on the weekends with him, but was home alone during the week pretty content. Like any dog, every pug is different. That why the blanket "no pugs to homes that work" rules are just eye rollingly stupid. It's saying that a better home is one that doesn't have the income to provide for the dog, especially in the event it needed emergency medical care etc The best rescues are the ones that don't have blanket rules and assess every dog and every home on a case by case basis.
