As long as It's controlled play. Most puppy pre-schools aren't even done by dog trainers, so It's usually not very productive or positive.

It's better to find something and be able to make him better, than not find something and not know why he sick. Wait and see what the vet finds, but maybe some puppy-proofing is in order. Let us know how he goes

Steph, sounds great, that is the whole point of pup school, or should be, is to get the dogs out and about and meet other dogs and experience other things dogs need to experience, learn what goes on in our world so when he is older he knows all about it and when needed by us will ignore something that may be interesting cause we need his attention for what ever reason, its not about hard out training at this age, small training and working up of course, recalls and attention etc but letting the dog be a dog is what he needs right now and it sounds like he is excelling at it :D Actually it sounds like a horrid (yep unfortunately fairly typical) puppy pre-school where it's just a free-for-all

So exactly what happened between them? did the baby touch the dog, were they interacting at all? My first instinct would be no, don't put the dog to sleep. Keep a closer eye on them, keep them separated, but find out exactly what happened because it probably wasn't random or for no reason

He's not too loud about it, most of the time I feel like I'm actually the one interrupting his 'alone time' :p Did you use canesten for the yeast, or for it to act as a soother? It's okay for dogs to ingest small quantities? Will still see a vet before I try applying anything, but thanks for all the feedback! I used the canesten because I suspected some sort of fungal type thing. She had previously been on anti-biotics for it and a steroid spray, neither of which made a scrap of difference. It's fine for them to ingest a bit, but I put it before dinnertime so she was occupied for a while so it pretty much had soaked in enough by the time she was walking around, and she wasn't interested in licking it. I'd put a tiny bit on before bed as well, and try to get her not to lick it off.

I really hope the AEC is doing something about him, and that the person that said they had taken the threats etc to them actually did.

My pug went through a really annoying paw licking phase, I used canesten on them for a few weeks and she's pretty much stopped now. The noise would drive me nuts! If I put my hand over her paws she would lick my hand, then just carry on licking her paws when I moved my hand lol
