  1. Ohh that's kinda gross, yet efficient My dogs lick up their own anal gland expressions, so I guess penile discharge isn't much different
  2. And he's gorgeous, but well cared for - people look at him and go "I'll adopt that dog over there who is about to be PTS because this one isn't in danger right now". An unfortunate by-product of groups that use the emotive "if you don't save this dog from the pound right now he will be killed" stuff
  3. Why are raw bones a treat? They should be a bulk of a diet, not a treat. Make cooked food a treat instead, That's not doing much for them.
  4. Lol yes have some training to do! :D My pug can't clean himself, his body just doesn't doesn't twist that far so I have to wipe him over every now and then. He gets belly rubs and a penis wipe, his idea of bliss
  5. Also, if your strata allows dogs they may not be allowed on common property, which which means you have to carry them in the lift, foyer, etc so size of the dog may need to be a factor
  6. I spent the first 9 months of my pugs life raising her in an apartment, and when We finally moved into a house with yard everything became so much easier. Life for a puppy in an apartment isn't great, I think for an older dog who is over the hyper stage It's fine, but puppies need space and easy access to yards to run around and be puppies. Plus toilet training in an apartment is a bitch, even with a balcony or pee pads/fake grass etc
  7. What about moving to a place more suited to the dog you want?
  8. There was a thread about this the other day, this was also recommended by a few: http://www.ezydog.com.au/quick-fit-harness/ However they were talking about bigger dogs. I use the Rogz step-in for my pug (in "Staffy" size, because they are just dumb sized and the pug one wouldn't fit him when he was 3 months old, let alone fully grown  )
  9. Glad he's ok, that sounds scary! The step-in harnesses don't go near the neck, so look into those. I think blackdog does one, and so does Rogz.
  10. Some people have started doing this after seeing it on facebook, not because they are marking houses, but because they have seen it's done for marking houses so they are being morons and copying it to scare people.
  11. They are vets, not psychologists.
  12. Because I doubt many people actually have $15k to throw on a puppy.
  13. Ummmmmmmmm -- quite a lot of puppy farmers with "rare" colours desex prior to sale, cuts down on the competition. Snap Rebanne :D Well that flies in the face of all the other generalisations or alleged facts about puppy farmers then doesn't it. The main one being that they are only looking to make money, so. USB so that they keep as many as they can and offer very little health care. Paying to desex lowers profit. At least make the argument valid. This person is surely looking at the dollars and sadly I believe there would be someone out there who would pay such a ridiculous price for what a appears to be an even more ridiculous claim. Paying a few hundred to desex a $15,000 puppy isn't cutting much into profits. But I agree they don't look like puppy farmers, puppy farmers tend to be into large quantities not small quantities at large prices. Just trying to cash in on a few people who have too much money and not enough sense.
  14. I doubt they are registered breeders with dogs that look like that. But I did wonder How they can predict the colour of the pups.
  15. The colour looks like the "rare" blue staffys, which just looks grey to me anyway
  16. Maybe there was an extra zero on the price by accident?
  17. It would need regular treatment, so a one off bath wouldnt do much, or treat the actual issue.
  18. The only 'supplement' I feed is cranberry powder, and that's because one of my pugs is prone to UTI's and the cranberry keeps them under control. They are on a raw diet, homemade meat/veggie mix and bones/carcasses so really no other supplements needed.
  19. Joe Bloggs uses the little syringe thingy which comes with the baby nurofen ..and measures out a dose ....and yes, it is a minute dose , for a very small animal ... how many people would have baby nurofen on hand? I only have tablets which arn't scored so very hard to break accurately. No way the vet should have advised giving nurofen. Someone who has a baby? possibly, but not everyone has a baby :D Lol no, but this guy apparently had baby neurofen :p

  21. I hope it makes them realise they are being watched, so giving "gifts" instead of donations still isn't above board. Why don't they just get the flippin licence?
