  1. Call the Insurer and explain that they don't have contact with the previous owner or knowledge of the vet. Surely not everyone maintains contact with the people they got their dog from, especially in a rescue situation, so they must have a process for dealing with cases like that.
  2. Not really, I lost 2 from the first litter I bred and I dont know why either. It just happens sometimes. Her owner is now just trying to concentrate on the 3 beautiful puppies she's given him. I know, just wondering. I love the pink toes on the black one. Will it stay un-black as he grows up, or get colour?
  3. Do you know what happened to the little girl, or what was wrong with her?
  4. omg their teeny tiny noses, and their teeny tiny feet, and those itty bitty silky ears
  5. If my dog was pooping in its crate, digging excessively inside to the point where I couldn't leave it alone, and eating the furniture I'd be training it to not do those things, and asking for assistance, not being rude to those who were offering advice. But that's just me
  6. DogLogic do pre-school at Chatswood, which isn't far from Lane Cove, and they are good (and actual trainers, not vet nurses like a lot of pre-school classes). http://www.doglogic.com.au/
  7. So you're not treating him as an individual, but as a breed? Has he displayed any of those behaviours?
  8. Or the kitchen, then? Somewhere with a tiled or lino floor, and a door that closes?
  9. What symptoms of separation anxiety is he displaying?
  10. Guess it depends on where you live as to how common they are. I have about 10 within a 10 minute drive of me, so I'd say they are pretty common. Most of them are free for all play sessions, some of them seperated into large and not large dogs. The staff to dog ratios aren't usually anywhere near adequate, and the majority of staff don't have any qualifications in anything to do with animals - although some are groomers (because most day care also offering grooming services). I know a few people that use them, and I've never heard any issues about our local ones, but I'd not personally use one. I have a dog walker and prefer the one-on-one attention from her (well, two on one as I have two dogs) when she comes a few times a week to break up their days while I'm at work.
  11. I loved my childhood dogs, but none of them were what I would describe as my heart dogs. My two now I love to pieces, and I think I've slipped up once or twice and referred to once of them as my heart dog and I hated myself for it. I love them both, and if anything happened to either of them I'd be devastated and lose a piece of myself, but they have complete different personalities and one is perhaps 'easier' and one is super high maintenance and I wonder if this influences my feelings for them sometimes. By calling one my heart dog I feel like I'm betraying the other one and feel omg so guilty, so I just can't use that term (even though maybe it's true).
  12. Lol everyone else must have had the same idea. I also have towels and doona covers for dogs bedding, from the OP shop.
  13. I stock up on dressing gowns from OP shops and use those as bed liners (on top of vet bed so they can snuggle into it).
  14. Really? The hate page she had going on all of us said very differently.
  15. The amount of yogurt you give them isn't huge and most dogs don't have a problem with it. The yoghurt I use (Jalna natural) is naturally low lactose, and I think a lot of natural yoghurts are. Don't just assume your dog can't have lactose, their tummies are a lot stronger than you give them credit for.
  16. Wrong. Their digestive system is pretty much exactly the same (minus the slightly better ability to digest and use carbs). And you know, the whole adapting to processed foods thing. All dogs are different, not every food works for every dog for many reasons.
  17. "....needs another foster or adoptive home. Is a great dog listens well but is a bit rough when it comes to little dogs. She is three months old so will need training, let me know if you're interested. She's not earmarked so is just like every other dog, can visit dog parks and doesn't have to wear a muzzle in public." From their fb. What does "not earmarked" mean?
  18. I've had no personal experience with them lately, luckily. Based on past experience they were not nice people. The DOL hate page they set up was just charming. They don't mention greencollars, and do tell people that some of their dogs don't have to wear muzzles in public.
  19. Just checked their FB, yes they have moved to Sydney.
  20. They were also the ones behind the FB page attacking DOL'ers.
  21. There are several threads on DOL http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/244119-new-rescue/page__st__345 http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/244510-junk/page__st__255
  22. How can raw be cooked? Then it's not raw anymore? I was wondering that too.
  23. I get beef trachea for my guys from http://australianpettreatcompany.com.au/categories/Pet-Treats/Beef-Products/Beef-Trachea-(-Beef-Tubes-)/ I've not seen pig ones though (and the beef ones are seriously stinky )
