Thanks for all your ideas....i will give some a try :) they only seem to chew and dig at night id prefer not to have to lock them up as i like them to free roam incase they hear a noise they can let us know.....but if they do keep it up they will have to be locked up at night (just in the shed so theyll have free roam in there) but they seem ok during the day and are always supervised in the house anyways. As for keeping toys on hand they have heaps and dont care for them, if im out there ill stir them ujp with toys for tug o war or chasing....no interest ...will be trying milk bottles tho we have one thatll be empty by 2mora :) Thanks Again

I have emailed the vet in his country to see what he thinks and if they think its would be doable....i never thought to have it frozen then thawed over there but dont they do they anyway with any frozen semen to be shipped or even what you collect and store yourself ??? i will prob import semen from one of his sons in the future but thought id try him if he is viable enough given his age and his quality and what he produces himself ....do it while hes still alive :p

Hi wondering if anyone has imported semen from an older dog and has been successful? (dog in question in 12 and still producing puppies via live matings) love to hear feed back and if its worked for you :)

i might try the milk bottle idea too, the pup is 5 1/2 months old and by the looks of his ears the other day is teething again atm LOL.... thanks

Hi, does anyone have any good ideas or home remedies on stuff to stop dogs chewing? I have basically used a whole bottle of pet shop bought chew stop and the dogs still chew stuff....and i know its on there as even tho i sprayed it weeks ago i pulled a bit of plastic off last night and forgot/assumed the spray must be gone as the dogs still chew it but NOPE i must have touched my mouth and YUUUUUUK i dont know how the dogs still chew it its horrible tasting !!! So any ideas on what really works well ?? thanks

LOL i got no idea what the stuff is they use for the cool coats but i have read one some of their sites they call it synthetic chamois??

Hi, was wondering where people who make thier own cool coats get their material? finding it hard to find bits that are big enough so i dont have to sew two peices together.....can it be bought off a roll and in colours? Also wondering what types of material people use? seen allot have mentioned synthetic chamois? Thanks in advance :)

slowly putting her back onto the dry now and shes loosened up again .... think its change of dry food for her !!! She is fed a different dry to my dog so will try her on what i feed mine (shes on suprcoat i feed black hawk)

I started her on rice and chicken and in only one days feeding (that same day) it shes back to proper stools.

No shes not mine, i had here here about a week+ before she came on heat and shes hasnt change at all in her attitude, health or eating habits just the change in the stool and it came the day or day after she came on heat ... i have done pick up today and its much firmer now but still not "normal" but she is a worrier too, she could be stressing over heat, not at her own home etc etc.

Hmm seems doing a little research on this topic and reading through other forums and websites the diarrhea whilst on heat seems more common then i thought... I can only go off the vets report and advice on her condition and if anything is actually wrong with her and it will be up to the dogs owner & vets advice on them mating her or not.

I'd be quite concerned! Consistent diarrhoea for that amount of time IS a problem in itself. My suggestion would be to quit the dry for a few days and only give her a bland diet of boiled chicken & rice (nothing else!). Feed her this twice a day and SLOWLY reintroduce the dry food by adding a small amount to her chicken & rice after 2-3 days. I'd also be looking at giving her some Lectade a couple of times per day to ensure she remains hydrated. (they didnt seem worried which i found odd) (i will try this they suggested the same thing) (she was still completely hydrated which i find odd with diorrhea) Here's hoping the bland diet will correct the problem but do be sure to introduce the dry slowly when you do :) Thanks both of you :)

depends on what the cause is .... the constant diarrhoea IS a problem, isn't it? It certainly is not normal ....hope it eases off very soon. hopefully chicken n rice helps

if she didnt have diarrhea she isnt giving me any other indications she could be ill.... its quite confusing. as discussed with the vet the fact shes had it for 10 days now, if she had a problem she would deffinately be showing other signs by now

true... wouldnt you think tho having it now for 10 days she would be dehydrated and lethargic?

Shes back to the vet 2mora for her 2nd prog test shes not lost any weight and shes still got a strong appetite and drinking water and lots of energy... no temp would indicate no infection right? only other thing they said to do was to feed her rice and chicken to bind her up

A bitch i have came on heat last tuesday and developed bad diarrhea which was the consistency of water. and went from being white to now back to normal colour i know days prior she had normal firm poos (cos she went in the trailer :p) She is very energetic, still eating, drinking, playing etc. Had her at the vet for prog tests and spoke to them about it and her colour temp and hydration was normal and they said to jut keep an eye on her. Is this a normal thing for bitches on heat i dont believe ive seen it before and its been a loooooong time since ive had a bitch. Any suggestions to firm her up. ive tried missing a feed to settle her stomach and ive given her yoghurt...nothing has worked. She gets fed plain dry food and has had bones and a veggie ear (which i have only given her two and its been days since her last one so ive stopped giving them to her to see if thats the prob and nothings changed) as mentioned shes been to the vet and given the all clear ... so wondering what to do now and if this is a normal think for (some) bitches whilst on heat
