  3. G'day Aussie dog lovers, Well once i got hooked by the Gundog breeds for the ability, drive, companionship, intelligence, versatility & "soft mouth" traits of a retrieveing dog from the Hunt,Point & Retrieve catergory... Both my partner and myself are avid hunters who truly value the relationship between a working/companion canine and it's master, not to mention the joy of hunting with your 4 legged friend. Having first been exposed to Weimaraner then the German Shorthaired Pointer, i slowly developed a fascination, curiosity and passion for the "Pointer" which started the obsession. 8 months ago now which seems like just yesterday it was decided that we were to get a GSP as a gundog/companion for jen. Looking back on it now i see it as maybe fate when discovering this breed as i now looking back on it with a long way to go, i could not have asked for a breed that turned out to be perfect for as a family pet, a hunting dog that can handle the heat in Australia and the variety of species that the dogs can Hunt,Point,Retrieve,Flush. I responded to a add posted in the window of the newagency near my house advertising "Pointer Pups", the add had a photo of a huge pile of orange and white pointer looking pups and without a second thought we had arranged to come view the pups. Never will i forget the feeling as my stomach dropped when the lovely lady who breeds the dogs in Australia with her husband answered the door opening the security gate giving me my first glance at what i was expecting to be beautiful looking GSP's instead i came across the "hunting dog of Malta" and since i did my research which took forever but thanks to help of some very dedicated and passionate people in Malta, i could finally join the dots. The photo's: From left to right, first 2 photos are of the "Bracco Italiano" one of the supposed breeds which the Maltese Hunting dog originates from..... and finally last but not least "Klieb Tal-Kacca ta Malta" my boy Hunter at 14 weeks of age
  4. One of the 4 National Dogs of Malta here in Australia...."Klieb Tal-Kacca ta' Malta" our little man "hunter at 5 months,
  5. "Klieb Tal-Kacca ta' Malta" The Maltese Hunting Dog, this is my little man who is 9 months old, a long long way from home. There are now a growing number in 2 states of Australia with more being imported this year from Malta & Gozo...... With ancient links to the Italiano Bracco and Kelb Tal-Fenek, this is one of the other highly prized gun dog breed that is currently in the process of obtaining pedigree and gunning for FCI recognition.
