  3. Like this 5 free greyhounds... go to petlink it won't let me post the link but a guy in Bargo has 5 free greyhounds pm me for the number if interested
  4. You'll see it has a list of links... choose and copy the link with [/img] around it then paste it straight into your post.
  5. A lot like Great Danes, BC's, Kelpies etc The wrong colour can mean a dog is unregisterable.
  6. That's what I thought. His seems more planned...
  7. I was talking to a behaviourist about nelson just then and he said the symptoms sound like Rage Syndrome, he said it was genetic. He had to go and told me to google it but do you guys know what it is. I've heard of it but have never come across it.
  8. Sadly I will not have a camera until christmas day as I dropped mine at the airport on the way home and it's pretty much...stuffed. Hopefully he'll be out on chrissy and I'll get a nice shot of him.
  9. I rescued a little tan and black cocker about 6 years ago, we had her for about 6 months we had a jack russell at the time, they got on really well, better than I expected. Cockers are a lot more lively than they let on.
  10. It was a very large matt ina very obvious area.
  11. Alot of good breeders breed for both type and colour.
  12. We've been long time friends with the neighbour and I told him there and then that the dog just had his last shot. he was very understanding and didn't make a fuss at all, we've been good friends for years.
  13. Quite a few! I took in an ex petshop GSD that everyone said was aggressive and out of control... She just had a high prey drive. i worked with her for a good year and rehomed her with a lovely lady in canberra with a cat free household. I wanted to keep her but I didn't need the stress of knowing my cats were constantly lving in fear of the dog watching them through the window. Plus she was super high energy and she does agility with the lady now.
  14. I think it hits extra hard as last year I had to put two other aggressive rescues down as well. One was a Cattle dog that was given to me as a last chance but he was so aggressive that after 2 years nothign changed and a Cance CorsoXneo that had been beaten black and blue and had all her teeth kicked out as a young dog by kids, she was fear fula nd I worked with her for 18months and she was great dog but never got over her fear of kids and I couldn't comfortably keep her knowing that if she escaped or a kid came too close it may be the end of them. I think I'm never rescuing aggressive dogs again, it hurts too much when it fails.
  15. i feel like crap and such a failure. i've put so much time, money, love and effort into this dog and nothing works.
  16. Update. I think I need to have him PTS he just reached through the fence and bit our nextdoor neighbour badly... He did a similar thing to a young girl a few weeks back, but only a nip, this one was bad. I'm out of options I think. I can';t rehome him and I would never dump him at the pound and can't leave my mum with a dangerous dog.
  17. I took the maremma to the groomer last year as i was sick and couldn't brush him or wash him out. I told her I din't want him clipped or scissors anywhere near him and to just brush him out. She called me a few hours later and said that she was brushing through the dog and found a big mat and would it be OK if she cut it out or would I prefer to do it myself, as it was too matted for combing out. I told her to go ahead. When I got there he looked fine except for a patch of shorter hair. He looked so white. I told her thanks for calling, I just appreciated the respect she gave me. So yes, I think a phone call should have been in order, as it's a professional service and it's rude to assume what a customer wants. That reminds me I have to brush the maremma tomorrow... That's an all day job
  18. yeah, I'm going to tell mum to lock the maremma in the back paddock while she's at work.
  19. I know. The people that own the station have 10 dogs of their own and the current governess has 5 at her place. The fences are good...ugh I dunno. Maybe if I introduced him to the kids, as it's mainly territorial aggression.
