  1. Huskies are left outside here if we aren't home and poodle is left inside, but it doesn't get extremely cold in QLD. When I was growing up we had a GSD and she was outside if we weren't home.
  2. If I walk Coco the toy poodle with the huskies I get funny looks and comments on the strange combination.
  3. How exciting! Do you know what colour yet? Yes black! I have been wanting a Standard Poodle for so long but have been scared of taking care of the coat but have found someone to help me out
  4. When will the Chicken one be available? I think it may have been the lamb that was the issue for my dogs because we tried Eagle Pack and had similar results to BH.
  5. Standard Poodle :D End of June/beginning of July It's been 6 months of looking and deciding on a breed. So I definately cannot wait!
  6. Today is Coco's 1st Birthday! As some of you know Coco has had a tough first year so I wanted to share her birthday with you today! Today she will be going to her favourite beach for a play and then to OH's parents for dinner where she loves to go because she gets so spoiled there  She has come leaps and bounds since her surgery she is a completely different dog and I can't wait to spend many more birthdays with her!
  7. Well I've been using Plaque Off for a little while now. I have been brushing the dogs teeth but nothing would come off gave the huskies a bone each and now there teeth are white!! I can't believe how good they look starting to run low on it now though
  8. I had to take my guys off it too they loved it especially Coco but it didn't suit them. They were itchy all the time and smelt really bad. Coco's eyes were also leaking a lot as soon as I took her off it the eyes stoppped leaking and she stopped scratching. It is ashame I was hoping to get the results that others have had too. Now to find another brand I can feed all dogs.
  9. Just curious how does living in QLD make a difference? We use interceptor monthly and only treat for fleas if we've seen 1 on the dogs or they have been in contact with someone else's pet that has had fleas. We check for ticks but never had one but when we were in Rockhampton for work treated them for ticks as we were warned of them being bad in that area.
  10. Depends what the cause of the murmur is. In my dogs case it could be fixed and cost $5000 for 2kg toy poodle.
  11. I changed my rescue dogs name from Scout to Mishka no problems
  12. It was on that channel the other week too, I was flicking and came across it. Gets me every time
  13. Apart from coat type (sometimes) I don't think there's often much similar about them. Usually very different heads and body type - and often temperament too. Mind you, I'm standing on the inside looking out. What most oodles look like to me is that they need a good groom. You want a scruffy, fluffy wool coated breed - all I can think of it the ear, mouth, feet and bum issues that go with not removing coat for hygiene reasons. Sheesh I can see the mats forming on PUPS at my dog club because long coat isn't being properly groomed. Ask any poodle person - long coat is HARD WORK. I have to comb and brush Coco every night if I keep a long coat on her, if I miss a night matt's will start forming so I just keep on top of it every night takes about 30 mins-60 mins depending on what she has been upto through out the day
  14. Yep just get a standard poodle without the pouffy girly clip. Hope they realise all the grooming they are in for. I would loveeeee a standard poodle but cannot commit to that grooming just yet but thats just me
  15. Thats great news! Even though I don't live in that area
  16. My toy poodle was the same for a little bit, I got some plain natural yoghurt and mixed her kibble through it and she ate. Not sure if you can use it if you have special diet restrictions but if you can could work
  17. We use Chancellor Park Vet Surgery. Wouldn't go anywhere else they have been great especially with everything Coco has been through. When ever I go in to get her medication the vet always comes out to ask how she is going and when we took our foster dog in there she knew we would end up keeping her
  18. I too am interested I have 1 on Fortekor and Vetmedin....
  19. No it is not ok Today we went for a walk at a local park/beach that allows off leash dogs. The council has tried to get rid of the off leash rule and make it only on lead, people all petitioned against it and it didn't go through. Well today I saw why! We had to have our eyes glued to the ground to miss all the dog crap it was disgusting and everywhere. They have bags on all the bins too. People just ruining it for everyone else, I love going down there but after today don't really want to go back I just wanted the walk to be over and done with.
  20. My vet on the sunny coast has it Chancellor Park Vet Surgery 5445 5288. BestFriends Pets up here also sells it
