  1. I can't believe a council would even consider this! Don't they see the numbers in their pounds? I don't have facebook but went and read it and cannot believe the number of people who think its good and believe BYB do the right thing 90% of the time etc.
  2. I know she was just being nice, it's hard to resist a dog sitting there looking up at you with those puppy dog eyes
  3. I'm not whinging about it, simply asking how others feel about it as my OH got extremely angry over it. We are training her on her recall but that itself is hard enough when you've had a sibe since a pup let alone one which is 2 and you've had her for a couple of months. She only gets to go off lead at the dog park for this reason.
  4. They both were just sitting there with heads up looking at her no jumping. If she asked I wouldn't have been as angry. It's only we've had Mishka a few months and are very cautious with the food thing after one fight and if Mishka snapped at the other dogs because of the food and caused a fight we'd be in a lot of strife!
  5. Today we took our 2 sibe's to the dog park they love it run around and have a ball like most dogs do  Mishka our recently adopted husky kept sniffing at this lady who was patting her and I noticed and said to OH she must have food. We started making our way over there to the other end to get her away. Before we knew it Misty our other sibe was there and another dog and this lady has pulled out this bag of treats and gave them some I don't know if it's just me but I don't find that ok. For one the newly adopted husky is food aggressive which is slowly improving there could have been a fight though, but also what if they had allergies to some treats or on a diet for an illness? OH got pissed I just took the dogs away before he said anything. I wouldn't feed anyone else's dogs at the park apart from my own. What do you guys think about it?
  6. coogie and bianca.a Just a couple of questions what is Leptospirosis? How often should I vacinate for it? Also I use interceptor monthly for worming and only use a flea and tick treatment as needed ie. if I know we are in an infested area or find one on one of the dogs. What are fleas and ticks like up there? I have 2 sibe's and never had any hot spots I never even knew what they were until joining this forum what will be best ways to prevent them? Dogs will miss going to the beach, but I heard stingers are pretty bad up there Thank you again
  7. Coco waits until the morning to go to the toilet anywhere from 8-12 hours but she sleeps on my bed or in her crate and if she has to go during the night wakes up OH (got her well trained  ) but that rarely happens now. Maybe you could try a doggy door, or if you rent one of those insert doggy doors?
  8. Were looking at houses in Bucasia so that will be good I am not looking forward to the humidity at all it is hot enough on the coast
  9. That is heaps of stitches! Keeping everything crossed it is nothing to worry about
  10. Well it has been confirmed we are moving to Mackay for OH's work on a 2 year contract. So I am looking for some recommendations on a good vet in the area, a groomer for my poodle and also a groomer who will do huskies for when winter is finished (not shave them but will brush the coat out) and I also any dog friendly parks/beaches etc for the dogs to go to. I have only been to Mackay on a day visit just to see the area and I don't know anyone that lives up there so any suggestions for the above will be greatly appreciated :D
  11. The Warehouse sells them for $8.00 the one have is ok in size and it is metal
  12. Lol I need advice the other way around. Mishka the rescue husky her coat is very harsh and I am trying to get it softer
  13. My 2 huskies both weigh around the 20kg mark and get 1 1/2 cups of BH each and every couple of nights they get a chicken frame with that.
  14. I wouldn't have been able to sleep either! Poor little puppy
  15. My dogs play like that and when my sister brings her Border Collie pup over she plays the same. Much to my dismay as Coco gets slobber all over her and has to have a bath
  16. That is one of the nastiest things I have heard, how can someone do that?
  17. Not heard Vegemite before....I kind of like it  Our dogs and cat have pretty normal names Misty Coco Mishka Molly Although I wanted to call Misty "Snickerdoodle" OH said no sometimes I will say it though I had next door neighbours who called their dog "DOG"
  18. I also use interceptor and I buy it online I have found VetStop to be the cheapest but I always look at other sites to see if they have a sale on it. I only treat for fleas if I ever find one on the dogs or if I know they have been in an area with fleas.
  19. I've met a few people who use Advantix on there dogs, and own cats. I guess you can get away with using it but it really depends how cosy your dogs and cats are together whilst the product is still wet on the dog. Oh wow won't risk using it again Coco is inside 24/7 so they are often found sleeping together. Thanks for that info Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It is only a risk for cats AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION. There is no risk for dogs living with cats after the product is dry. Approx 6 hours minimum. It is a bit like the washing on the line. How long does that take to dry? Recommend 12 hours separation After that No problem with cuddling licking spooning etc. The above info says 48hours
  20. Hi I have 2 huskies with my indoor cat and toy poodle and they all get on fine. But every situation can be different. Try popping into the sibe thread http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/85055-how-many-of-us-are-sibe-owners/page__st__18630 you'll probably get more answers in there :)
