  1. Oh my goodness.. he is just too cute! How old is in in these pics? 6 more sleeps to go until my little girl comes. I so can't wait!
  2. My pups coming from Sydney as well - she's a Cavalier King Charles. I'm worried about the whole flying this as well but hey after a six hour flight with no food/water I reckon she'll fall in love with me as soon as I feed her! haha!
  3. I shouldn't have watched it at work either.. my makeup is ruined!!
  4. This time next week my bundle of fur would just have landed in Perth!!
  5. If you had to rehome as a last resort I personally would look at the younger one as I think it would be easier to find a home for. I had to rehome a 18 month golden retriever once due to circumstances out of my control. The people that adopted him were great.. lived not far from me & they were happy for us to visit whenever.
  6. I had a quick read through. The dog is registered under 'the act' just under a different council. There were no subclauses or provisions in the document to justify the fine. I'd give them a call too.. definately don't pay the fine!
  7. Thanks everyone for the tips! I feel so much better now! I should find out today/tomorrow what time her flight is booked. Hopefully its early in the morning! 8 more sleeps!!
  8. I'm in the same situation although I'm getting a toy breed. When I home mine will be going outside to toilet but for night time & when I'm at work I've put a doggy door on our laundry door & sectioned off an area oustide for her. I'm making it more like a little courtyard - I've got some trees & flowers in pots & some fake grass (which I'll put puppy pads underneath)so hopefully it will be just as good as the backyard! I was really stressed out about the whole toilet thing at first but I found that I was more stressed than excited about getting the pup so now I just figure that I'll go with the flow & change things round abit when I get her if I need too.
  9. My puppy is coming next week. She'll be 9 weeks old. She is being sent from Sydney by plane to me in Perth. All up its around a 6 hour flight then another half hour (in good traffice!) to my house. I had a chat with the breeder today to say that she will probably be unsettled for around 48 hours, may be off her food & water & have an upset stomach for up to 48 hours too. I'm really worried about her doing the long flight & basically just need some reassurance that all will be ok? Has anyone recently flown theirs on a long flight & how did the pup handle it? I know I'm probably worrying about nothing but I've been waiting so long for her & would just be devastated if anything was to happen. Thanks in advance!
  10. I just got mine.. looks alright.. not ultra solid. Not sure how a large dog would fare in it but I think it will be fine for mine. I measure the wire at 2mm & the thicker wire at 3mm.
  11. I've got everything except food & shampoo which I'll pick up on Saturday. All I need now is the puppy. 9 more sleeps! C'mon hurry up week & be over!!
  12. I've seen better ads.. seen alot worse.. at the end of the day its JUST AN AD. Hopefully the message gets through to some people!
  13. My girl is flying from interstate. Just spoke to the breeder to see if she could get her on the earliest flight out which will hopefully get her to me around 9am. I don't know how I'm going to wait!!
  14. I just finished reading 'after you get your puppy' I thought that some parts were really over the top as well. Will check out the video that SecretKei posted. Thanks
  15. I brought one last Wednesday so I'm expecting it early this week sometime. I'll be using it for my Cavalier King Charles so I don't need anything too heavy duty anyway. I'll let you know when I get it!
  16. Thanks for your replies When I said 24/7 I guess I meant that I would be around to take her out to toilet etc. I do have kids & being school hols she will be left at some point throughout the day. Good to know about not bringing her into work with me though. My husband works all over the place so he'll be able to pop in throughout the day & check on her.
  17. Hi Everyone I'm on the countdown until I bring my bundle of joy home - a King Charles Cav. I'm in the midst of getting the house ready & have a couple of queries.... I intend to keep her inside & crate training. For the first month I will be with her 24/7.. after that back to work 3 days a week & I'm contemplating bringing her to work with me. I want to go portable crate so that I can take it to work. What are the likeliness of her chewing the crate to pieces? When I'm home I'll be able to take her outside on our large lawn area to toilet, at night she'll be in the crate, in the hall/laundry .I'm going to get a doggy door put in the laundry which will lead to a sectioned off safe area so that she can go out & do her business on the fake grass toilet. At work I'll have another fake grass toilet My main concern is that she will get confused toileting outside on the grass and then through the doggy door at night or the off chance she is home alone. Is this a potential issue? I don't really want her in my backyard unsupervised until she is older. I'm going to enrol her in the RSPCA puppy traning in Malaga. Has anyone had any experience with this? Thats all I can think of.. hope it makes sense. The doggy door/toilet is the main part that is bothering me. I couldn't sleep the other day thinking about it! haha! Thanks all for reading, any suggestions or any other advise that you can give would be fab!!
  18. 3 weeks to go & I get my puppy! A King Charles Cav. I soo can't wait!
