Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Without Health Issues.

Oh my goodness Jules they are divine! Here's one of Miss Lucy. She's only 9 months old :) I honestly can't believe that there aren't more breeders in WA for cavs given that they are such a popular breed in other states. I had to get mine sent from NSW as I just couldn't get one here in Perth. I don't see alot of them around either although I do know a couple of people that own them. Whenever we goto the dog beach there is rarely another one there. The most popular that I see are border collies/bull breed type dogs. Even when we went to dog traning the trainer commented that she hasn't had a cav in her class in forever! -

Oh my goodness! My Lucy is only 9 months old but hasn't had any of the above mentioned issues (touch wood) I think a lot of them are issues that all breeds can have. Buying from a reputable breeder will ensure that the dog has the healthiest & longest life possible -
See the health/nutrition/grooming section There is a recent thread on this

So I just tried to cut Lucy's nails & her pad fur & it was a complete nightmare... I had my husband holding her but she just wriggled sooo much it was very difficult In the end we put her on the laundry bench & bribed her with treats but it wasn't much help I ended getting all her nails cut (took 45 minutes) the last one she wriggled just as I was about to snip & it went above the quick & is now bleeding I was too traumatised to even attempt the pads she just won't stay still Has anyone got any tips or tricks to make this a not so stressful experience for all involved?

Is she a golden retriever? My friend has a goldie who gets car sick too. She just doesn't give him any food at least 2 hours before traveling I wonder if it's a breed thing?

What about a whippet? or a pug...? Not sure if they'll pass the shedding aspect though???

What Silly Things Is Your Dog/dogs Scared Of?

Drains. Whenever we go for a walk & she sees a drain she literally stops, digs in her heels and won't move. I was crossing a busy road with her once & there wasn't a drain in site. She froze and cars were coming so I had to pick her up & carry her  -
I've just read this whole thread & I am a crying wreck. I am soo sad for you & your family K9angel. Poor little Cookie. RIP

We had a good time at the one in Perth. Shame about the irresponsible dog owner who was there that didn't muzzle their viscious dog. OH witnessed it mauling another smaller dog It had it in its mouth & was shaking it & wouldn't let go. There were 4 people trying to get it off it - kicking it, pulling its legs & trying to prise open its mouth. This was all in front of its owners who had small children who were all understandably hysterical as with anyone else who saw it. I'm just so glad that me & my son didn't see it. OH said there was alot of blood & the little dog was in a bad way so not sure whether or not it would survive.

Another dog snob here & I couldn't give a flying fork what anyone thinks

I got nothing from my kids or husband Not even a coffee in bed..I even had to make breakfast for the youngest as the OH was bust reading the paper & by 9am the poor thing was starving We then took his mum out for lunch (mine is overseas) where I proceeded to drink too much champagne to drown my sorrows

Has anyone else heard that BlackHawk have announced a price rise from the 1st June due to them not being able to absorb any more raw material increases? The supplier I get it from is bumping it up $15 for a 20kg bag for adults dog.

I want to get the Sporty Raincoat. I've emailed them twice now asking about sizing and postage & I haven't heard back as yet so I'm hesitant to purchase until I do.

Just wondering if anyone has purchased anything from the above store? http://www.ritzipoochi.com.au/
